Hi all, need a little help here. I did search for similiar issues, but all seem to be on custom roms. I am 2.3.6 stock, rooted via cwm. Only frozen app is teher manager so I can hot spot. For 2 days now, my text messages are not in order anymore. Timestamp is correct, but all my text are in bottom in blue, and all replies are on top in white. Used to be my text, then reply, and so on....not replies top my text bottom. I have not installed anything new. Just seem to "hapen". Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Had this problem once, I resolved the problem by going to Settings | Date & Time | choosing "Automatic" to use network provided values, if it's already checked uncheck and recheck, not sure if it will help you but it's worth a shot or give this a try https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mattprecious.smsfix

Again, I searched for about 30 minutes before posting this.. in both diamond and touch pro forums and all over here.. I figure this is a common issue, but still found nothing. Maybe I'm a bad searcher... (Sorry)
I get a ring sound, but no visual notification of texts or emails.
Is there anyway to make touchflo3D or something show the actual text message or email pop up when received?
I'm sure there's a small notification icon somewhere, but I can't see it... And even if I could.. I'd rather the message just pop up anyway.

You need to go to Start>settings>sounds & notifications>Notifications Tab>Event>Messaging: New text message> then click the "display message on screen" box.
Hope this is what you were looking for.
EDIT: Repeat same cycle for email notifications.

okay im having a problem with that. I've done that several times and it works for several minutes then my on screen notification stops showing up and the setting is unchecked. Im not sure if its becuase i receive a txt msg while using an app or w/e but i have 2 go through that setting like 5x a day...its gettin annoying!!! any ideas??
Having same problem here. The "display on screen" box keeps becoming unchecked on its own. Does anyone have any idea/solution to this? I recently took my phone back to O2 to upgrade to the latest firmware, and it's still happening. I'm pretty sure it happened with the previous firmware as well.

I noticed that a long time ago too and don't have the solution.
But it seems to me that the option gets unchecked automatically only when you are doing some specifics things wth your device. Otherwise it remains checked and works properly.
For example having the option checked, open some of your usual applications and send yourself an sms (my carrier allows me to send myself an sms through their webpage ) and you 'll see that sms pops up with some of them and not with others.
Luckyly the most recent version of windows mobile (the one with the thick bottom bar) has a new notification method, so when you touch the taskbar, an amplified version of that taskbar rolls out, and there you 've a "message icon". You touch that icon and it drives you directly to the pOutlook app and shows you the message. That's Cool!

Ok, so I get a new text message.
I turn on the phone, notice in the lockscreen someone texted, and see an excerpt of the text. I say, ok, lets slide that messaging icon into the ring and read that message. Well, that message is not there. No message at all from that person. If its someone ive been talking to, it usually shows what i said last only, and their reply is no where to be found, although i just saw it in the lockscreen or the top bar.
I have also tried the handcent sms app to see if it could help me. same thing occurs there too.
ANY idea what could be causing this? It seems to be doing it all the time now. My only way around it is to use google voice only. ugh.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
What's the limit you have set for deleting texts after a certain period? Might have something to do with that.

yeah, ive been using it, but its still a hassle. My txts were coming through just fine the day i got it, then it got wierd afer 48hrs of use.

I am a very similar issue, at first I thought I was missing text messages as well.
I got a few keywords from my friend who sent the missing text and when I did a search, the text was there, but they had the wrong time stamp.
For instance missing text was sent at 17:44, when I search I found the text stamped and threaded in as if it was received at 12:40.
The wrong time is variable, I have found other texts that was stamped received the previous day.
Unfortunately I don't have a solution, and quite frankly am getting really frustrated with this problem.

Not sure if anyone else has had this problem, but when I upgraded Viper recently on my phone, text message previews keep coming up on the lock screen (showing my messages). I have the Settings --> Privacy --> Message notification preview, turned off but it still keeps showing the message.
Anyway to still keep the notification (and status bar notification) but leave the preview off? It was working before. Not sure if anyone else has had this problem. I looked for answers but only found the above setting, but no dice.
If anyone anyone can help or provide any suggestions, it would be much appreciated.
I think it's already been mentioned in the development thread and Turge is looking into it.

This was resolved in 2.4.0
I have been using handcent for years but never had this issue and cant seem to figure out what the issue is.
Question regards pop up settings:
When text comes in I read and or reply. next text comes in and the previous text still shows in pop up and have to swipe to the right to see the next text. I have "mark read" (Messages will be marked as read when clicking close)
I also notice that even though i have "screen on for popup" checked it doesn't always turn screen on. This common lately? never seemed to have either of these 2 issues.

Lately I've noticed those issues too. I've just learned to live with it for now but I'm glad I'm not the only one who is having this issue.

I usually dont use the custom lock screen that comes with CM 11s, but I recently turned it on and noticed that it's displaying one unread text message. The problem is that the message that it's displaying is super old and that thread has long since been deleted. Anyone have any idea how I can remove this? . Thanks so much for any help that you guys can offer. I also only use the default SMS app. No hangouts for me.

Try clearing "CM Lockscreen" cache & data and see if that helps...
Setting > Apps > All > CM Lockscreen
Thanks for the tip! I tried it and it didn't work unfortunately. However I did resolve the issue by deleting all my text message threads. Once they were all cleared, the stuck displaying message was gone. Thank you for the help!
