On my captivate there are four apps on the bottom of all home screens: Phone, Email, Browser, and Apps.
Any way I can change it? It doesnt seem to be accessible/customizable.
I havent found a way yet either....so doesn't seem possible.

Yep, I figured it out. Follow this:
1. From the Home screen select "Applications"
2. Menu> View Type> Customizable Grid
3. Menu> Edit
You can now slide any App down to the bottom dock. You can even change it back to "Alphabetical Grid" and it will still save the Apps on the dock.
thank you sir!

Is anyone having success with Launcher Pro replacing touchwhiz?
I really prefer launcher pro over touchwiz. Are you asking how to change the buttons on the dock in launcher pro? If so, just hold down one of the little +'s until the menu opens up and go from there.
on a related note, is there a way to remove the different pre-loaded AT&T applications from the phone? there are a number that seem useless given other apps out there that do the same thing but better, but i can´t seem to figure out how to delete them.
keep your finger on the icon you want to move a second longer than normal (if you have your phone on vibrate, it will buzz) then you can move them around the screen as many or as much as you like. You can also drag them into a bin which will appear in the bottom of the screen. This action doesn't delete the app or icon, it just reappears in the apps page. Very easy but took me ages to work it out. So simple. Have fun
Can anyone make a mod like the image shown here for cm10 on our Sensation? The original post (v1.1) is in the link below. Thanks in advance
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28325580&postcount=1
So far i know we all have the weather widget as a lockscreen
Put finger on homscreen and hold it.
Then move the bottom slider to display
Use Lock screen style
select Weather
The rest is to put the icons in the right *.apk.
So far the icons have the same size is this not an issue.
Ok the size of the widget must be changed in /framework.
That's a little bit more work, but possible
Also the names of the icons can be different and how much
we have for our sensation.
Will check right now the icon size. Report later...

Wait a minute ,you got me confused lol are you trying to make a mod or telling me how to? All i want is to change the minimalistic weather icon style from cm10 to the one above and btw this is for cm10/aosp not sense.

Oh ok I guess that would be different for sense so good luck and if you need me to upload my framework or unless you can flash the cm10 beta we have from bruce and try it out yourself anyway just let me know thanks
The way this looks, all you have to do is change some lines in updater-script. Give me a while, I was just about to Flash CM9 so I'll try doing this for the Sensation after the flash.

Did it! There's a CM9 and a CM10 version. Because CM10 is still a work in progress and gets updated every day, I can't guarantee it will work across all versions but always have a Nandroid to be safe.
When transferring the file, be sure to properly eject USB. Apparently not ejecting it corrupts small files and makes kitteh sad
CM9 - http://goo.gl/kYWnS
CM10 - http://goo.gl/278ek
I tested the CM9 one and it worked, hopefully the JB works out the same as well.
Hi all, as written in the title, how can i change the homescreens number from 5 to 1 on Android 4.0.4?
I have root permissions, so i can edit system file if it is needed to change this number, i want only 1 homescreen because i use just one...
I didn't find anything in phone settings...
Thanks in advance,
Bye!

I think that, just as with GingerBread and HoneyComb that will not be possible if you stay stock - Google seem to think that EVERYBODY needs 5 or 7 home screens. I'm with you - I only need one for my purposes.
The only way you will achieve what you want is by installing a separate launcher running on top of your system - most of these have the ability to customise the number of screens.
Install a replacement launcher - Nova, Apex or whatever. Nice and simple. Plus you will also be able to remove the search box, change the grid size and much more.

Without knowing exactly which AOKP ROM you are running on your Galaxy S Plus I am unable to do the same thing as you ought to do. Search the ROM thread in your Dev forum and if you genuinely can't find the answer then post a question in your device's Q&A forum to ask there.
thanks, i didnt find answers for this but i'll try posting that question in i9001 section

Yeah, JB... but i have ICS...
sorry for necroposting, but actually you can delete unwanted screens on stock ics, and i quote
How to remove/delete unused android home screens:
Method one:
Place two fingers on any home screen and drag in a clockwise or counter clockwise direction.
All active home screens will appear and you can drag any unused screens to the trash.
You can also restore deleted home screens the same way by clicking the giant plus sign on the deleted home screen icon.
Method two:
From your main (center) home screen, press menu and choose edit.
All active home screens will appear and you can drag any unused screens to the trash.

I thought I'd share with everyone that the app/home replacement named THEMER is finally LG G3 Compatible as of today.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mycolorscreen.themer&hl=en
If you aren't familiar, all you do is install the app, chose from one of over a hundred themes you like, and apply it. Widgets, backgrounds, everything on yours will look just like the pictures in the app gallery.
I've been using it for quite some time on my Nexus 5, and was happy to find out it worked fine on the G3 via restore from TIBU when I upgraded.
Doesn't work for me, can't get no themes. Says it's officially supported but says me phone isn't compatible.

You have to be using a stock/oem DPI and navigation bar height. If you change either, it won't work well if at all.
I updated this morning and it is working fine for me still. Perhaps uninstall and reinstall?
Good news! Long time waiting! Works perfect here.

I had this problem are you using G3 tweakbox? if so go into it then the themes section then navigation bar and turn the switch to make it go to stock again, then reboot. This fixed it for me.

Ah, silly me. I changed the dpi back to stock but didn't think about the nav bar height. Thanks fellas ☺
I changed the dpi to stock with app settings module and still doesn't work hmmmm
So I changed the entire system dpi... But I couldn't get the nav bar transparent so
Once everything is back to stock you'll probably have to reboot

Can't I force it somehow to work on modified DPI and navbar? Stock is just too big. I suppose I could set a custom DPI for the launcher only via App settings (the xposed module), but can I do the same for the navbar somehow?
This is awesome! Thanks for the heads up! Going to take some getting used to not using the knock to unlock lol
Edit: hmm knock still works!

Nope.
Actually, the only other way to get it to work I read about in their subforums here. You have to change the DPI and Navbar in a manner that still gives you a supported resolution in the end. I don't have any problems with the stock nav bar, though I've got mine themed. some of the themed navbars have small buttons on them.
If you can install the app, you should be able to look at themes, you just can't use the Browse Themes/Trending/newest/Most Popular sections, When you apply others, they may not look right since your resolution is off. I don't think they plugged this loophole yet.

Don't know what the issue is. DPI has to be stock, status bar needs to be stock size and so does nav bar. If they all are, it should work fine.
If they are, and it isn't, you should post in their forums.

Well in the browse section it points out that I have the wrong resolution, it doesn't do it at the categories, but they don't show anything. What's the stock navbar height? 48p?

What I used to do on my old phone is set it to stock, download the theme and set it, then change my phone to how I liked it. Most of the time that worked just fine, pain in the ass I know but worth a go if you want themer.

It is not possible without root or another launcher.

As an alternative, you can just set up another home screen without At A Glance.
Lawnchair or nova your best bet
I used Niagara for a couple of days and paid for the full version this morning. Love the 'empty' screen!
Please tell me how to remove this information from the locked screen? a flashlight also appears instead of the date ((very annoying. There are no lock screen settings in AOSP.

Are you using a Pixel 7?
Your best bet for fixing the flashlight issue is to probably install a Pixel Launcher, stock or modded and customize your At A Glance settings. As for the lock screen weather, not so sure you can turn that one off.

Unfortunately, I am not sure how to remove the date. My apologies there.

It was the same on my 4XL. It's nuts that they put that on the homescreen. Every morning when I turn the phone on, I have to swipe left to get to the homescreen I want to use. I don't want to root, or change the launcher. Back in the day, I was able to choose the homescreen page I wanted.
