So I've had my HOX since it came out on AT&T and noticed this right away but didn't care enough to complain, but curiousity has gotten the best of me and I want to know how many other users have this...
About 1-1.25" down from the top of the screen I have a literal horizontal crease in the glass of my screen. It goes straight across and is really only noticeable when you look at reflections in the glass. You can kinda sorta feel it with your fingers. It doesn't pose any issue except an uber tiny warping effect if you use the screen as a mirror.
I'll post a picture when I get home and try to get a good angle on the screen so it's plainly obvious what I mean.
Edit: Actually...I'm not sure whether it's concave or convex...not that it really matters
None of mine ever had this. Sounds life a material defect.

Here's the picture. You can see a distortion across the width of the screen.
I've seen similar defects in the international section. Get a replacement.

It doesn't bother me enough to warrant me going and getting a replacement. Like I said, it doesn't affect the actual on-screen image, just the reflection off the surface of the glass.

The reason I'm saying replace it is the integrity of the glass might be compromised and possibly more prone to breakage.
Yeah although it doesn't matter right now it might become a problem in the future. Its best in my opinion just to get a replacement to prevent all that.

Sorry but when you pay $600 for a phone, you want it to be perfect and shouldn't have to settle for less. Every device I returned had legitimate hardware defects.
I'll see how I feel in a few days before I make the decision to go get it replaced. I know the concern for breakage later on is perfectly valid, just gotta decide whether it's worth the trouble. I'm super careful with my phones. My old Captivate survived 2 years with nothing but normal wear on the back and 2 cracks on the top where the plastic was real thin (bad Samsung...)

I noticed a very tiny scratch on the edge of my screen, and I was wondering what the best way to remove it would be. Does anyone have any personal success stories?
Sounds like an opportunity to make the situation worse, the only thing I could think of might be something that fills in scratches on eye glasses, I've seen something somewhere for that.

Take some vix chest rub and rub a little on the screen then wipe the excess away and it should look somewhat normal

Or you could just apply a screen protector on it. Sometimes it hepls hiding the scratch.

Do NOT under any circumstance use an "LCD Polishing Kit" on a capacitive touch screen. You can literally polish away the capacitive layer on the glass, rendering the screen incapable of detecting a touch. Hide it, or order a new screen online.

I wouldn't burn my warranty just for that. I'd probably wait until I was about to sell the phone then brick it to get a fresh one.
On the bottom left of my phone I can push down and there's some give along with a click sound. Anybody else? My inspire did this too and I exchanged it.

Or just ignore it and enjoy your phone. Does it do it during normal use, or just after you pressed hard on the corners because the OP told you to?
If it moves and makes a noise every time you TOUCH your screen during normal use, I would say it's an issue. If you have to force it by pressing hard, I wouldn't worry about it. Basically did you notice it before the OP brought it up?
It's really not a big deal or even noticeable unless you actually look for an issue...plus the case covers it up...and if you are concerned about something like this, you ought to be using a case anyways, ha.
I'm the op . It was really bad on my inspire. Touching the menu button made the phone click. If they all do it I'm not going to worry about it

If its annoying you then replace it, you just run the gamble of having some other issue that people are having. I personally think because of how hard I usually am to my phones and because I don't use a case this thing is going to be creaking and making all kinds of sounds in no time so I just wont care about it now.
Its like your first brand new car HAS to be perfect and you take it back for every rattle or squeak, by the 4th or 5th you think of it more as a tool that serves a function in your life and the squeaks and rattles don't take priority.
A brand new, freshly delivered, white hox and an equally new gray hox. Neither one has banding,.light bleed or squeaky corners. My squeaky inspire was horrible. And yesterday the volume rocker decided to fall off of the inspire as well.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
Lol I noticed this earlier and didn't think much of it. Definitely creaking. Not sure if worth an exchange tho.

Welcome to XDA, where we probe our phones until we find a issue. Lol. Mine doesn't do it unless I go hulk on the corner, which I will never do under normal use. So it's fine to me.
No problems here
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
Can't speak for the OP, but I think some people are intentionally looking for problems with the phone. i.e. doing things that wouldn't occur during normal operation, such as pushing down on the screen edges.
So far my phone hasn't had a single issue.
i dont push down hard on the buttons so i dont know

I looked for it on this phone because, like dust under the screen, it seems to follow HTC around from device to device.
I'm not one to freak out over little stuff like this, but I just wanted to get the info out there in case it wasn't an isolated incident/defect on MY device.
I'm having the same issue on the bottom left corner. It started to randomly make a clicking noise and then I found this topic. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one but I would rather have a perfect phone!!
I've also noticed the small gap in the lower left allows a little bit of light out so out looks like the seal isn't perfect, hence the clicking too I guess.
I would return it to HTC but after reading other people's posts, it's likely that I could just get another bad one.
Sigh. £400 and it still has issues.
The bottom left of my HTC One X has a little give but I dont think its anything major that should be taken very seriously

Having a couple small issues with my HTC One X (att).
WiFi is a little buggy, so I figured I'd call ATT and have them send me.a.refurb for a warranty swap out.
Here's the problem: I dropped my.phone with no case on it, and there is a small, but deep ding on the top.corner.of.the phone. Nowhere near the screen. The damage is purely cosmetic. The rest of the phone is undamaged.
Will they void my warranty for physical damage from this?
Shouldn't be an issue, can you post a pic? HTC knows about the WiFi and has owned up to it, so I think they are trying to make people happy with the issue.

It's a somewhat deep surface gouge on the top left corner. Now that I have a case on, you can't even see it. It's maybe a quarter of the size of the front camera. It's probably pretty obvious that happened from a drop.
I think you will be fine if it is just cosmetic. Only one way to find out.

As long as the physical damage didn't create the hardware problem (or can be reasonably argued it did) you should be OK. I dropped an Acer Liquid once, and the small scratch didn't seem like much, but the impact blew the Wifi and Bluetooth radio.
Just Be polite. Warranty coverage is like insurance. Give them reason to refute your case... They will.

And did you actually own one or are you just speaking out your ass like you always do about something you don't have any experience with? I owned one. It was a fantastic case. I owned one and sold many. It was sturdy, but the way it locked onto the phone kind of sucked. It could pop right off and it was the sliding mechanism of the phone that made it a 2 piece. There's solid no keyboard phones have a advantage with sturdier cases.
I wouldn't even bother...the case is such crap...the prongs on the upper case, pulled two of my keys clean off my keyboard...which was a common issue that I didn't hear about until "after" it was purchased. The only way to prevent this was to file the prongs off, which in turn made the upper case unsecure...such a tool of a case

it is extremely difficult if not impossible to separate the glass from the lcd on our screens unfortunately without damaging one or both of the components. Don't get me wrong, I've seen it been done, but it's very risky. I also dont advise using just any adhesive when dealing with our phones. use the suggested 3m adhesive when replacing the lcd+screen, I think its fairly cheap now. I used some crazy glue I bought at the store and it turned out damaging my screen a bit, so a small strip across the screen didn't recognize touch, which was very annoying. Gonna be replacing it again very soon.
