Hey guys !!
i want to know wheather Galaxy R support HDMI...
if yes, how to connect it to a LED/LCD Tv via HDMI
please share your ideas.
Nope, sorry
I know it supports video streaming over wifi via allshare and mediashare etc type apps
So you can stream videos wirelessly without the hassle of HDMI cables etc.

you can use mediashare lite to stream videos too.. you dont have to depend on allshare just for streaming.. mediashare lite also supports alot of TVs...
i've even streamed from my phone to my ipad using mediashare..
just install mediashare lite from google play market and you're good to go

No it won't as I am yet to see a Tegra 2 based handset in which we can use use the USB as MHL. Most of the Tegra 2 handsets have a dedicated HDMI port for connecting it to an LCD.
Hope this helps.

I dont think it will work with SGR.
the i9103 kernel is not ready for that, but there is a lot of commented code about that... look like they tried but have aborted the feature...
I still think the hardware has support for that, i will open the adapter too see which chip is used...
So its a chip from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silicon_Image

Does anyone know a way to connect the HTC Desire HD to a beamer or TV (or.. What i'm ultimately looking for, the Video-input of the Toyota Prius built in LCD).
Thanks!
DHD doesn't have a TV out option, maybe the hardware is able to do it, but don't get your hopes up.
only option i see to get content to a screen is via the DLNA option, which requires an DLNA adapter for your PRIUS.
this way you still cant get a screen view there, just photo's or video's or sound.
if you want android in your car, perhaps a cheap china tablet could work for you that has TV out?
> cheap china tablet could work for you that has TV out?
Do you have any Suggestions on that?
I was a bit let-down by the fact that my Prius could infact import the contacts from my phone, but not the contact pictures to browse through.. Obviously, to get the whole interconnected experience, you'd also want the touch screen on the car relay it's input to the phone... still a bit to much to ask for, I think...
Thanks for the tip!
Anyone actually tried to buy this http://cgi.ebay.com/1-4-Micro-HDMI-AV-Video-Cable-Type-D-HTC-HDTV-/140567818112?_trksid=p5197.m7&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26itu%3DUCI%26otn%3D2%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D1160370007762118256#ht_2020wt_1141
(just an example) to se if it actually works? I mean; isn´t DHD and EVO 4G close to similar in hardware?
Its not possible with the DHD, sadly. All you can do is stream audio/video with DLNA. But no screen mirroring for games or anything. I dont really care because i would never use it anyway. At home i have better devices that i can hook up to my tv And my girlfriend has an old TV without hdmi so... If i wanna take a movie to her place i put it on my DHD copy it to her laptop hook the lappy to the tv and off we go.
You´re right. Just thought it would be funny if it actually worked.

Please post some proof of you getting MHL working on a DHD. I have that MHL usb cable which works fine on my friends Sensation, but I doesn't work on my DHD using any rom. I've tried ICS, CM7, stock and custom roms based on stock. None of them will detect the mhl cable.

When they actually become available, the Raspberry Pi could be good for getting DLNA on TVs. A lot cheaper than anything specifically for it (but you'd also need a wifi dongle)
No TV Out of any kind for Desire HD
Unfortunately there is no option for TV OUT for Desire HD, no RGB, no HDMI, no MHL, the only option is DLNA.

I don't know if it's standard micro USB, but if LG have standard micro USB, than also this cable will be.
The LG UTC-100 is for the LG cookie (KP500, which you may have confused with our P500) and the viewty etc, and these have a different connector. The one we're looking for is the LG UTC-200M, which does have micro usb.
But all of this is irrelevant, since nowhere does it say (to my knowlege) that the optimus one has any TV-Out capabilities, and if it doesn't exist in hardware, there's nothing you can do with just software.

I agree with your views.
not possible, as tv out feature requires special hardware in phone to output the video signal.
Look for the Twonky Media server app in the market. May not be exactly what you want, but I think it streams media to DLNA tvs
i try the nokia n85 tv out cable and there's no luck.
so it must be the missing hardware or software.
Maybe the best way is to play them through dvd player

If anybody else wants to stream via DLNA or UPNP, try also Skifta. I've been able to stream video to my DLNA-enabled LG tv via Skifta Haven't tried streaming music and pics but since it can already do video, I guess it's not to hard for Skifta to stream music and pics
I think its not possible as of now.

these adapters might be standard usb adapters (like here).
The chipset specification (msm7227) says it has limited USB OTG (usb host) capabilities, but it has been shown to work on other phones (at least with keyboards/usb sticks), such as ZTE Blade.
There might be problems also with providing power to the usb "slaves", but up until now I haven't been able to connect anything and have it work. I have tried keyboards, mice, memory sticks, digital cameras.
Haven't tried (yet) a proper USB OTG cable, as for the rest (hardware) I have done it: hacked usb otg cable, hacked external power, powered usb hub, etc..
Hope someone smarter will find a solution (maybe missing kernel modules+ some kind of USB power hack?).

any phones which didnt have tv-out by company, and devs did it?
If the arc s has (mini) hdmi out, this port is directly connected with the chipboard. You'll see that every msm8255-related board has hdmi connection possibilities when you look on the specification plan / roadmap of qualcomm about this board. It's impossible to use the mini usb port -> usb -> hdmi, by any usb to hdmi converter. There's windows, mac or linux based software needed for output in hdmi.
The sgs, sgs + (and possibly the i9003 as well) got a tv out trough the 3.5 mm jack. There was a thread about it a couple of months ago, since samsung made it impossible to connect it with a universal cable. Samsung changed the connector slightly to force people to buy the official samsung cables for this.

You mean the 3.5 mm to video connectors (3 colors analog connector, I forgot how they're called...)? Samsung should be selling those cables, but I havent searched for them. Camcorders of about ten years back often use them, however they wont work with galaxy s phones, since they made the connection proprietaire...
Getting the mini hdmi output connector on the msm8255 board is impossible of course (or someone should be willing to be soldering a mini hdmi connector on its phone )
Sent from my GT-I9001 using XDA App
if it is possible to build a kernel with usbotg support it should also be possible to make the sgs+ compatible with the car/deskdock
since chrismas i have a original samsung car dock, but as many others i have problems with charging/connecting.
i know the trick with "connecting slowly/half". it works, but this is not very comfortable.
isnt it possible to have a lock in the i9000 files to get the sgs+ compatible.
as far as i know samsung used the ID-Pin (no.4) in the micro usb connector to identify car or desk dock, as it is discribed in the official usb battery charging spec 1.2 ***.usb.org/developers/devclass_docs/BCv1.2.zip
the identification is a simple resistance messuament
and the 3 nominal values are 124k, 68k, 36.5k as discribed on page 56.
so maybe somebody can have a lock in the i9000 files and search for so called AccessoryChargerAdaptor detection (ACA dock).
or maybe someone knows an other way to get the sgs+ charging correctly in the car dock. (audio out isnt important)

No Driver is required
WTF ???
edit : can they prove that this cable works without any driver ? and kernel support ? how will this work without kernel support ? fishy...
it doesn't deny it. it DOES say "compatible mobile devices". if the i9003 isn't currently compatible, then it won't work, but if it is, it will. that's the way people do things without getting in trouble because they warn you that it only works with COMPATIBLE devices. a clever way to sell things without getting into trouble
so, does the seller actually claim, word for word, that it WILL work on an i9003? if not, then just take anyone's word for it (that knows what they're talking about) when they say tv out doesn't work on our device at this time
"no driver is required" is like my camera. nothing has to be installed for me to view pictures on my tv; it's programmed to work using the rca cable

I tested with car bluetooth (blue5) & I could play video with sound on car screen.
does this bluetooth gadget use the 3.5mm jack? no. will it be helpful so people won't worry so much about tv? YES! do all tv's support bluetooth? NO!
provide a link to the bluetooth device and put it in the marketplace for those that want tv out now, and if they're desperate, they can pay for a bluetooth-supported tv too
for everyone else, a refresher AGAIN is that tv out uses the 3.5mm jack. if only audio is connected ON THE PHONE SIDE of the jack, only audio will be put out, so tv out won't work. I believe it's been said that's how our phone is set up currently.
Are you sure about it ? I'm going to buy one next week , any way I'll feedback
I don't think it's fake, i've read about it in a serious magazine.
These cables are available at your Local Electric shop at a price of 100INR or so.
What these cable to is, port over your MP3 to a sound system.
Or your Video to a TV system.
And, TV-OUT technically means that it should be able to show ANY screen ( Be it games, Apps or homescreen) to you Television set.
And, It needs a kernel which supports it!
One can not just od it without drivers.
If it's so, I would not mind paying a $200
So, This is not Tv-Out, This is only Music & Video out

This epic 17-minute video below can teach you a trick or two on how to use your Android smartphone as a gaming console, complete with installing emulators, hooking it up to a TV, as well as using various accessories like gamepads and Wiimotes with it.
For those of you who are big fans of the retro big box gaming, installing emulators and loading games up, although controversial in terms of copyright and such, is also demonstrated.
The good thing about Android emulators is that you don't need to hack or root your device in any way, so Google's mobile OS is quickly becoming a gamer's lust, as hinted by the record-breaking donations to the Kickstarter project for Ouya - the open source Android gaming console.

AFAIK, tegra2 boards dont supports HDMI over USB, all the phones based on tegra2 chipset are having separate HDMI port.

they have specified that tegra apx, tegra 6xx series having output over HDMI, but havent specified that its over native HDMI port or over MHL.
all the devices running on tegra2 SoC dont have MHL functionality and those handsets who have HDMI output (like g2x) are having separate HDMI port. (i m not techy guy and havent researched on board, correct me if i m wrong here)

Do you want to know the funny part buddy ?
Check this out: Captivate Glide specs (GSM Arena)
It has a HDMI port listed in the features which was the reason I thought it also provides the functionality through a separate HDMI port but it turns out it doesn't have a HDMI port, some Captivate user should have notified them & helped them correct it. :silly:
They should have represented it in the way it has been written for SGS2: TV-out (via MHL A/V link) Source (GSMArena)
Anyways we can hope to get MHL !

How about this:
- Take the stock kernel & ROM for Captivate Glide.
- Take the relevant drivers from the ROM and merge them into our ROM & do the same for the kernel.
Possible / Impossible ?
