What do you want in the phone?
Camera, front facing? CPU? Screen size? Good development? Etc...
Mainly, I'm also wondering off contract or on contract... and new or used?
The HD2 is not a bump specs wise from your Galaxy S, but it has amazing development. It can run WM6.5, WP7, Android 4.0, MeeGo, and something else too I forgot.

i want something that has a bigger screen, and camera doenst bother me that much, i never take picrures
i really want a faster phone with more ram, or a dual core. the reason for the HD2 was the big screen and the huge development for it

Ok then I'll warn you, the HD2 is not that much faster.
I still need to know if you mind buying a used phone, and what country you live in.

i live in the netherlands, and i dont mind buying a used phone, if it works and everything is fine, its good , do you have any more suggestions?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda app-developers app
OK well... I don't know much about availability of phones in countries outside the US... but there are definitely some worthy upgrades in that range (in USD its 122-250).
I can offer a big list of used phones in that price range, but I don't know if the sellers on eBay ship to the Netherlands. Hmm.
Sent from my MB508 using xda premium
there are loads of phones here, but not second handed, so theyre all really expensive, and i could get one from ebay :3
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda app-developers app
Here are the phones in that price range, used on eBay. The problem is, I don't know about availability in the Netherlands.
Motorola Atrix 4G
Motorola Atrix 2
Samsung Captivate Glide
LG Thrill 4G
LG G2X (Optimus 2X)
LG Nitro HD
HTC Sensation
HTC Mytouch 4G Slide
And the single core phones that are upgrades from the Galaxy S
HTC Inspire 4G (Desire HD)
Samsung Infuse 4G
I also went onto the eBay app using the Netherlands country code, and I found some used GS2s slightly above €210, but they still had an hour or so on them so they were bound to go higher.

The HTC HD2 is great if you are interested in ROMs, dual booting, modding, etc. Otherwise, the Sensation is the best overall in that price range. The HTC HD2 will last at least a year due to the huge dev community but the Sensation is vastly better on specs.
Get the galaxy s3. It is an amazing phone. I loved my gs2. And this is like a hdtv compared to a b&w white one. I love all the features and the screen size. Check it out when u have time

SG3 for sure. My SG2 running at 1.5ghz with Mystic Glory 4.1 scores almost 5k on Quadrant and beats the HOX.
how did you do that
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
I would go with the One X, I think it has a better design and better looking software (I hate touchwiz!) Although I do think the motion cotrols on S3 look pretty awesome. And I think they have gotten to the point where the speed and resolution doesn't matter Anymore.

Galaxy S 3. HTC one S is a more sensible choice on the HTC side
Sent from my U8150 using XDA
SGS 3
and let's not forget that the SGS 3 has NFC
I would go for One X, because of its design and sense. But, probably, SG3 is the most favoured device for now.

purchased a new one s s4 today :)

Welcome!
I recently received my One S as well. I love it!
I, too, am going to avoid rooting. But nonetheless, it is still an amazing device I'm sure I'll be using for a long time.
Welcome!
My satisfaction with custom Roms is greater than my desire to keep my warranty. jajaja!
Hope you enjoy the Device!
Guys I just noticed it gets heated very much on charging the battery temperature is 45.7 Celsius ..
Any help ?

I just bought a 'broken' tmo one s on eBay... (got it for $75) because it was stuck in a boot loop. Fixed it, now debating on keeping the one s or my galaxy nexus. The one s is very appealing because it's smaller & would have tmo WiFi calling. Does WiFi calling work on custom Roms? On my old glacier it did, but not sure about this device...

Wifi calling is now integrated into the Sense framework, so only works with Sense ROMs (there are several custom). I also had a Glacier and wonder if you still have it, can you extract the wifi calling apk and post for those of us on AOSP ROMs to try?

Recommend new phone to me please :)

you can check HTC DESIRE X to see how is it
If you're looking for a phone that is not much different in size, and not expensive, I'm liking my HTC one v so far. But, it's been only 2 days. The stock Rom is ics 4.0.3 and it has beats audio. I'm so tempted to root it. Lol
