guys i recently updated my galaxy fit running 2.3.4 to 2.3.6 using software update on my gfit....
since then my fit started having problems. the wifi is not working, it says "driver loading unsuccessful"...
and the internal memory keeps getting filled by itself. one day i had 24 mb and next day i had 0 kb and i dint even install any app!!
also my phone was rooted when i updated it. could that be the problem??
please help me...
Inbuilt software update?
You mean OTA (Over The Air)?
First time I heard, that the feature did work for someone...
Your best bet now would be to flash a stock rom using odin...and do data wipe...

I recommend flash any 2.3.6 firmware using Odin..
is there any other way other than flashing or doing a factory data wipe??

I was sick I let it through my fingers when I updated!
Thank you, I have been waiting for this ;0)
the file in the archive is dated 14.04.2011... it's genuine GB SBF?
anyway, thanks!

Hi,
I have run Recuva over my file system. I could not recover the sbf, but the file name, modified time and size were found.
They match perfectly the file I downloaded from mpieq.
Cheers, as far as I'm concerned that is the real thing.

Works great! Thanks very much.
Now then... who is going to produce a theme so it looks like leaked / 2.3.3 that wouldnt work with the unfortunate green camera devices?

Was on early 2.2.1 - wanted to upgrade in case of warranty issues.
Flashed with RSD Lite. New Red Motorola logo with white rings when phone starts, but had to pull battery and re-boot manually.
Phone is upgraded with all contacts, settings etc as before.
Just had to root phone with superoneclick to get Titanium back-up and SetVSL running.
30 mins start to finish. Many thanks

You're luck. After upgrade mine boot up but with all settings and apps restored, however it after rooting it wasn't stable. Got to do factory reset and... for a first time used TiBu to restore my apps - works flawlessly . The only issue was the lack of Polish Swype (got it with Eclair) but used the one from CEE ROM and it works flawlessly.
mine simply has lost his Haptic Feedback... it must be restarted to gain his capabilities restored. is losing also his WiFi (with error message in wifi and network settings) and the data connection...
any ideas? could be from the JuiceDefender wrong resources management?
I am on motorola defy with formware version 2.51.1. If I upgrade to this will I lose my root, if I lose root can this be rooted by SuperOneClick.
Does it have blur is without Blur, I ma looking for something without Blur.
With Blur or without Blur?

This ROM is blurred. I flashed it over 2.2.1 (the UK 3.4.3-11 ROM), which I had previously successfully rooted via SOC (in fact, an older version, from months ago), but, as, at first, for strict test purposes, I decided not to wipe anything at all after flashing this ROM, the root condition (just like all my applications and settings) was kept as it was before. My Defy is in this very state ever since.
By the way, I haven't noticed differences between the two ROMs.
Just my 2 cents...
Regards,
Carlos
i have installed the full sbf
no problems with haptic feedback.
all looks fine and smooth..blur is also working nice ..even you can skip the setup.
just the 3g gets stucks up when the phone is idle..(the "H" is shown but the arrows ↑↓ are greyed out ..i have to reconfigure the apn and set it again to get it working.
Guys ne thoughts on this 3g problem..?? i have used defy baseband to switch my baseband for india.
EDIT :: solved the problems....i think this is problem free blur rom so far ...!! kudos to motorola uk..!!
note :: i didnt download from any links given here..i had some other source.
Their is some problem with the link? I have tried to download 3 times, but corrupt file...
If I wanted to go from the Korean 177 base sbf with cm7 rc1 installed to this what would be the procedure? Is it as simple as doing it through rsdlite or through the 2nd init recovery?
Thanks

If you're in Holland you can finally update your phone with the LG update tool. It seems there's a new version available, V21b, released december 13th.
Download link here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=PGBWK2EA
Don't know what's new but the battery stats app seems to have been fixed. Phone is just as snappy and battery usage is the same as V21a.
All languages are available so I suspect it can be applied to any P920 with the KDZ flashing method (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=18082599), but ofcourse I take no responsibility
does this have a new baseband included?
Not sure but I've just included a screenshot with the baseband information.
Is this version stil rootable?
21a was rootable via latest SuperOneClick
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1178077
Is someone want to try that and share the results and other experiences for 21b?
It would be nice if Thiaiz based a new rom.
Thanks for the quick upload.
Baseband version looks the same.
Gonna download and check it out tomorrow.

Can anyone that uses this new update list any changes that have been made apart from the battery stats.
I've been trying different methods of rooting but none seem to work at the moment. It might be my USB drivers are just borked so tomorrow I'll hook up my laptop and try to root on that.
So far I've tried any SuperOneClick since 2.1.1 (including the latest 2.3.2) and zergRush with and without Doomlords script.
If anyone's succesfull please let me know
Edit: reverted back to V21a and rooted within 30 seconds so my guess is the zergRush exploit has been fixed. Non-rooters can use this latest update as it works perfectly but I guess the rest of us will have to wait untill a new exploit has been found.

Battery app is still broken under 21B, so the only change is that fact that if you upgrade to 21B you will not be able to root.

The battery app was fixed as far as I could tell and I've heard of people no longer missing calls/messages or having random reboots anymore with the new update though I've never had those problems anyway so I can't say anything about that myself. If LG really fixed those problems I'd say it's a great update.
As soon as a new root exploit has been found (it seems more manufacturers are patching the zergRush exploit) I'll definately update to V21b again but for now V21a works great on my phone.
yesterday I updated to v21b. For me this is a huge update because I never got v21a. I had checked for updates two days ago, but it didn't find any.. .

I also had it when i reverted back to froyo. wiped everything, dont understand why its still happening...

ok, it happened again... missed sms.
anyone solved this problem in any form?
for me ticking the use only 2g networks solved the problem of ghost calls/sms/stopping data connection. But the speed s*cks of course.
thanks pivotomicsek, will give it a try!
everythings better then missing calls, I guess....
as much as i love the 3d and potential of this phone, as much I hate it by now
hm... seems to have worked at least today....
bad workaround, but better than nothing, thanks again!
so it seems to somehow been losing connection when switching between 2G/3G

Did anybody try to go back from 21b to 21a or to froyo?
When I try to flash back from 21B to 21A with kdz, my phone restarts and I get a message from Lg update tool that there ia problem in communication between pc and cell phone. Has anyone see such message?
Hi all,
I've been reading all the tutorials on how to downgrade my O3D to 2.2 but I'm having a hard time choosing what info I should follow. And everytime a find something, usualy I get the impression that its kind of a bumpy ride...
My O3D is locked to Vodafone Portugal, not rooted, everything stock and my data cable is the one that came with the phone.
I want to keep everything stock in 2.2.
Can you please point me to the safest way to do this?
Oh, and I only have Win 7 available for the process.
Thank you so much for the help!
The easiest and most comprehensive tutorial to do that is the one posted here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1540163 (Point 2)
If you will need additional info on the steps mentioned on the above tutorial, you can visit the two threads below:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1287236
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1473781
Thank you.
It does appear to be the simplest I've seen.
Really hope not to ruin my phone...
Oh, and what rom do you recomend?
I can't recommend you a Froyo ROM because I used the tutorial only to flash Gingerbread ROMs. I flashed the 21D ROM almost 4 weeks ago and I got only one ghost call (that I'm aware of).
So I'm sticking with the 21D at the moment until LG releases a new ROM or until the ghost calls start occurring more often.

Well, I have 20a on mine and it was running smoothly but then suddenly it started again with the GC. I'm kind of in the verge of trashing this peace of sh!t.
If I downgrade using this method, when (if ever) LG relleases a fix or a new rom, I will be able to update via the nromal LG process?
Yes, you can upgrade later with the normal LG process or the one you've used to downgrade to Froyo.
However, since you've only recently started experiencing ghost calls, I would suggest to make a factory reset/wipe first on your current ROM and wait few days to see if you still have issues. In my case, the factory rest helped a lot and haven't experienced ghost calls for the last 3 weeks.

No no, I'm experiencing GC since the update in dec 2011. I've done the factory reset with the wipes twice and it got better, but then the monster came back.
Just finished downgrading and it went like a charm.
Just had to wipe data afterwards because i've got stuck in boot loop.
And since I've installed a carrier free rom, its so much faster now... No Vodafone things loading. The boot is twice as quick as it was in 2.3.
Thank you so much for the help!

The v10k downloaded directly from the guide. And it made the phone faster in normal usage. The benchmarks show the same results however.
It must be the fact that it doesn't comes without all the Vodafone [email protected] on it.
Yes, Froyo could be in some cases faster than GB, for example some games. It's also more compatible with certain apps like video calling apps (Fring, Tango etc). The biggest issue however with the Froyo is the relatively higher battery consumption.
By the way, I just remembered that I saw some time ago another method to downgrade/upgrade stock ROMs which has the major advantage of being completely automatic. The post and the zip file is here and includes complete instructions.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22189294&postcount=30
I haven't tried it myself but many other did and they said that it works very well. I know that you've downgraded successfully but I just post this for a future reference.

froyo is faster after you haven't trun off your phone for days!
and
froyo can install and run "dead space" smoothly, but gingerbread can't.
I have updated my Infuse 4G to GB through unofficial update found here in XDA sometime back. I have no complaints but one.
This problem is a tricky one...
My phone just gets hangs (only) while calling. After much R&D on my phone I found out that once the data memory for call settings(Settings> applications>manage applications> all applications> call settings> data) reaches 20KB my phone starts hanging. Once I clear data, it works again perfectly well.
I have to clear the data every time it reaches 20KB (which I would come to know once it starts hanging )
Is there a permanent solution for this?
Also I would like to update through official release through kies.. but it says my phone is already upgraded. Whats the way to upgrade to official release of GB? Do I need to go back to froyo and upgrade again or is there a work around??
Thanks for your answers...
Since you are mentioning "official" so many times, and want it the official way, the easiest way I would recommend is using the official channel and contacting Samsung.
Alternate and easier route: Flash a custom ROM, and enjoy it. When you want to upgrade officially, flash back to Froyo stock, and update your phone.
still facing the issue

If you are on custom rom, you shouldn't be getting OTA.
Try renaming etc/security/otacerts.zip to otacerts.bak

Thank you guys. Renaming that file at first did not work but after while those annoying updates have stopped so i think it's working.
What's weird is that even after reboot they still were popping up but only after some time they stopped. Odd. Thank you guys.
Now i'm getting some weird message about:"there was an error while trying to download the data. Please try again later"
This is famous pixelrom 1.72 fully touched. I love this rom
Hmm, I've experienced this on Stock 2.3.6 ROM, the download still showing but stopped, It's annoying but, I'd try factory reset & after it completed I'm turning on the phone without sim card (to ensure there is no internet connection) & renaming the "otacerts" file. So download will not be showing & not started

I tried and removed ICS and JB. Went back to GB, it's faster less bloated and does the job for me. GB kept downloading ICS automatically and giving me nag messages to install it.
I found the following thread, which fixed the problem.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1579154
The trick is to install FOTAKill immediately after you install another rom, before the phone connects to the network.
To install it, I used the "adb push" method from cwm recovery.
