CM10 is pretty stable - my only issue with it - causing me to go back to Synergy ( now on R64 ) was no NFC support yet. I got hooked on Wallet and I can't stop! Keep checking CM10 Nightlies for NFC support and you will have THE BEST Android OS yet. I only had it for ~3 hours but I already miss it.
I want to say today was the supposed release for the international, of course its all rumor-ville

Yeah CM10 is stable, but it also has a lot of issues like notification sounds, no NFC, call volume stuck on highest, echo, SMS failing to send anything larger than 160 characters (at least on the stock messaging). If you don't care about those things, go for it.
CM10 is quite impressive so far, but there is still the sleep of death and a bunch of other issue. To say it's stable is rather disingenuous.

I haven't had any SOD issues, so I can't speak on those, but the other issues don't inhibit it's stability, but rather the functionality. It's pretty damn good for how shortly it's been public, though.

Disagree. I haven't had any SoD or hot reboots or anything of the sort in well over a week. The NFC may be a deal breaker for some but there is pretty much nothing else keeping it from being a daily driver since it appears the echo was fixed in the latest build

After trying out every Rom I could. I'm back to Synergy. I like what CM10 does, but TouchWiz is just so much better than stock UI. I'll keep waiting for Samsung to release the update.

I agree. Samsung really hit it out of the park. I'm really looking forward to JB TW.
Jelly Bean does sound nice. Will the devs be able to make a JB version for the Verizon SG3 from what Samsung releases? Or will we have to wait for Verizon to release their version first?

CM10 official nightlies are good enough to be a daily driver now. NFC works, WiFi and data work, SMS and MMS work, etc. And there are multiple kernels coming out for OC, voltage control, under clock , etc. Obviously getting official 4.1.1 code from Sammy is ideal, but it will have TouchWiz which many agree can be slower than vanilla Android.

I don't know why people can't just be happy with what they got, I mean seriously, we have the best possible phone out right now, for Verizon and pretty much the USA. If you want JB root and flash, General consumers don't care about it. I, personally, really enjoy touchwiz, all the little tweaks and stuff it add is really cool, and probably the best skin on android, and I don't see how you can make this phone any faster realistically, real world performance, not talking benchmarks. Sorry for the rant. I'm done.

So I bought the note 10.1 (gt n8020). I was so excited to root it and I immediately did so once I found instructions. Was very simple. Ive been rooting and flashing roms and kernels for years now. Anyway...to my disappointment, I discovered that there are no custom roms for the n8020. There are roms for all other versions...even the wifi only ones. Why not this one? Is anyone working on something? It's a great device. This specific verzion of the n8020 is dipfferent than the n8020 you look up. It has 4g and has ability to make phone calls and sms.
Im worried that if I want o customize this tablet beyond just a new launcher that I will have to learn how to cook roms on my own. Im more of a graphic artist than a programmer though. I think theming would be something im much better at. Pleeeeeeaaaaase someone port some roms for this device. Hascheck....android revolution...phoenix....someone? Lol :silly:

Did you ever get this sorted? Any suggestions on what firmware to use? I tried a bunch last night, but they were all for 8000, 8005, 8013 etc and none of them will boot properly.
TIA.
Edit: Update.
Turns out my tablet was faulty. I returned it, and the new one works fine with the released firmware for the 8020.
possible custom roms for 8020?

I'm in the same ROM searching boat as a few others on here but can't find a definitive answer.
Recently got the Tab 2 and after reading some good reviews I'm really disappointed with the endless glitchyness. I've got an Ipad2 which is smooth as silk but I don't get on with IOS at all. Have an Android phone and love it and originally bought a Motorola Xoom and ended up selling it because of the glitchyness and bought the iPad. Couple of years on whilst I didn't expect the Tab 2 to match the Ipad I just wasn't ready for the constant sticking when even doing the simplest of tasks such a browsing and I'm not overloading it at all. On the face of it the Tab 2 seems no better than the Xoom. I hope I'm wrong.
I didn't want to start rooting as I did with the Xoom (then in an effort fo make it smoother) so I feel I'm back to square one but am hoping there is a Rom that can make the Tab 2 as smooth as the iPad. If there is or if there is another way to smooth it out if I'd really appreciate any help there is out there. Have done a hard reset a couple of times also without much, if any, improvement. Thx.
Have you updated to Jelly Bean? It's pretty much smooth. I use the stock JB without root and don't have anything to claim about, and I also use Nova Launcher Prime since the 4.0.3 wasn't that smooth.

So are we saying this is the smoothest ROM out there currently? Is this ROM also stripped to the bone? I'm tired of bloatware.

Do try ripper rom by txr33 and use kkboot kernel by ketut..you will get a smooth debloated rom. You can have as high as 9000 antutu score.

I have a tab 2 10.1 gt-p5113. I am interested in updating it. Problem is I have been away far too long. Last time I came here there were no aosp roms lol. So which roms are stable enough for daily use? I mainly use the thing for netflix. And I am having a hard time picking a rom. I noticed no new releases for stock roms. So what roms do you have on your tabs?

I have cm11 on mine, but slimrom (slimkat) or omnirom seems to be a better choice because of the frequent updates. Android-Andi keeps them in good shape.
Awesome thank you! Do you use netflix? I was reading in one of them that there was a conflict with the app. I don't remember which one it was though. Trying to update roms on tab 2, note 3, and LG g3. It's racking my brain lol
In the past few days, I've seen that a lot of devices have started to get Lollipop ROMs, such as the 1+1, Xperia Z3, Galaxy SIII Mini, and even the SII. I am wondering, is there any developer currently working on Lollipop for the d2vzw/d2lte? If not, does anybody have any idea how to compile Lollipop for the SIII?
Been lurking around as well. Noticed that the i9300 and the i747 models (no longer unified) both have Alpha Lollipop roms in production. Currently on Moto X (First Gen) but would love to dust off the old GS3 to get an early taste of 5.0. Been looking into porting but it's well over my head, plus I don't want to be the guy who bricks his backup by trying to port an early rom build. Would love to see a thread pop up tho about a release

Carbon Rom is moving in that direction, but it will take some time to see a build I'm sure. They don't tend to release unpolished roms.. Especially on a new version of Android

Makes sense. Haven't been around the scene in a while (my Moto X is locked down tight) so I thought I'd take a peek and see if you guys were getting any Lollipop love just yet lol Thanks for the response and I look forward to what the devs push out soon!
Welp, did a bit of digging and got the rom working on my GS3 but unfortunately I have no signal (voice) but LTE is working. At this point I imagine it's a kernel issue unless someone knows otherwise. gonna do a bit more digging tonight to see if I can't fix the problem.

Any update on the build? The d2att/ATT SIII has a working build already. http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3-att/orig-development/cyanogenmod-12-t2944071
Would it be possible to compile this for the VZW SIII?

Absolutely not. Only if it specifically states d2lte. This one says d2att which can and will brick your device

One of them may be updated, I'm not aware of any but I'm not always in the development forums anymore
From my CM11 S3
As the others have stated, I wouldn't recommend flashing the At&t variant even though we share similar hardware (basically the same). Since the GS3 is my backup, I tweaked their rom and it booted for me, but like I said, there is no voice/sms working even tho LTE does activate oddly. I went to the IRC to see what I needed to look into but the devs there confirmed that they are indeed working on a rom for you guys already and I know they have made better progress than me. Wasn't looking to duplicate efforts, so I said I'd just stop and wait like everyone else cuz it'll be so much safer in the end. Sorry if I got anyone hyped but legit builds are in the works by expert devs, so no worries!

Theres a VZW Lollipop ROM from Mastamoon that works pretty well. Its under his CM11.X thread though, a link on that thread is a page back or so.
Camera doesn't work, but you can download open camera from the market which works.

Didn't realize @TheSiK1 already linked it.

If its buggier than CM11 how come the home button doesn't work properly? Sounds like a bug to me, this is a good reason why a lot of people don't test things out until the bugs are worked out

The build, at least for me, has been pretty great so far. The home button does in fact work, you just can't wake the phone with the home button. But I understand that people need something very stable to use, but I'm OK with a few bugs.
