[Q] Stuck on boot logo after trying to use Heimdall to go back to stock - Samsung Infuse 4G

Long story short, I tried the community Froyo rom, it didn't work, so I tried the Collective rom, it kept rebooting. So now I tried the Heimdall to go back to stock and all I get is the samsung screen over and over again. Any help?

Use odin and include the pit file and check clear efs worked for my old issues with my mez

no matter what you're doing with the Infuse, whether it's wiping or reset or repartition flash, or odin or heimdall, DO NOT CLEAR YOUR EFS UNLESS you are absolutely sure you have an EFS backup somewhere.
If you flash or clear your EFS and you don't have a back up, you're SOL

Yes. It's back. Don't recall if I've flushed my EFS or not. Now what do I have to do in order to be able to run CWM?
What do I do if the EFS is wiped anyway?

Anybody? On either thing?

Try it and let us know.
Won't be an issue once you have make a tar of efs either with my backup, zen tool kit or any method. It may be the syntax, but when you wipe your efs partition, good luck on getting it back. I believe it was bml5.

Efs clears the programming on your phone cause me to need reactivated nothing more i use it everytime i resale a phone due to my info being able to read if i do not clear it. Efs clears what a factory reset will not. Including total talk time on the phone and stuff like that

i am curious if there is a way to make a tar file of the stock ROM that we might be able to flash thru Odin if things go wrong? this is what i always did on the Epc 4G. so far CWM seems to be having problems with the sdcard... i have made nandroid backups, but out of curiosity i went to 'restore' and it said it couldn't mount the sd. maybe this will get fixed soon tho.

Lock Pattern Screen

Hi I have flashed my phone with a few roms and now that I have flashed any new rom and even whipped out and reformatted my sd card etc. I get the screen unlock pattern all the time.... even though all I have to do is swipe anywhere and not input a pattern unlock its really annoying!
Can anyone direct me on how I should go about this?
I currently flashed :
[Heimdall][One-Click][UVKJ6] The KJ6 Heimdall One-Click Collection [12/11/2011]
But I want to clean it out completely and start all over without the worry of this unlock pattern!

Do a backup, perform a factory data reset, and you should be good to go. It's possible that clearing the cache & Davlik cache might work, but I'm not sure.

Weird. I had an issue like that after installing the initial Octane release. I think I might've flashed chadster's KG4 via ODIN afterward to clean it out as it flashes 4 different files (PIT, PDA, CSC, Phone).

Yeah, that's the one I personally always go back to that one to get a clean start. So far it's worked well for me.
As for what ROM, man, that's subjective I just read that Whitehawkx relased Valhalla Final. As for me I currently have Octane. I'd probably go to KG4, then stock KJ6, and maybe go to something custom from there. Others may have different ideas, though.

To be fair, the one clicks, nor do any other method we tried (odin flashing, cwm falshing), reset EVERYTHING. The thread regarding incorrect time zones required a "hard reset" to get everything right again. Not sure if this should apply to this thread, but worth mentioning.

Do you mean that you see the lockscreen when booting for the first time after oneclick? It looks like a crappy low res lockscreen? If so, just enter your old pin/password. It wont ask again... Until you setup protected lockscreen again.
If not, and what you are trying now doesnt work, then could you rephrase the problem?

Can't factory reset

I was given this Infuse to try and reset, easy task, or so I thought. Here is my problem I have tried every method I have read about to factory reset the phone. But nothing works, I've tried doing it through recovery, dialing the code, going into privacy>factory reset, and even trying to ODIN with GTG's ultimate unbrick. Nothing seems to work. It looks like it'll reset, but every time the phone reboots, I'm looking at all the apps/accounts still installed and on the phone.
Anybody know what the problem is?
Anybody got a solution?
I've tried GTG's ultimate unbrick twice now.

Never had that problem personally.
Have you tried going to:
Setting/privacy/factory reset?
Warning though: I think this will erase EVERYTHING on the the phone and SD CARD.
If you were to procede, odin gtg's then factory reset from the phone settings..not cwm

idk if you want to try it or not but heimdall has an option of re-partition; (upper left hand corner)
if you're rooted, you may want to use terminal emulator and back up "efs" first then save the efs on your pc;
then try heimdall again with re-partition also.

To be honest, your problem is unique.
I don't think I am qualified to offer sound advise.
It is odd that a reset is not working and Odin back to stock is not working either.
I'm thinking that heimdall may not accomplished the erase either.
if you want to try heimdall you will have to read more.
You'll have to learn how to use Heimdall Frontend.
The pit files and stock packages can be found in the one click package or unpacking the stock leaks.
Be careful, though...not familiar with it may potentially brick your phone
Dani897 has a thread of hemidall packages..he will know better how to solve this problem...I'm not a hemidall user either...

Very strange issue indeed. I repartition with a pit file in Odin and still nothing. Very, very strange indeed. I tried heimdall about 4 times now, with and without flashing bootloader, no change either.

What about pulling the battery for 24 hours after a wipe in CM and before a reboot? Maybe there's something left in RAM? I'm a noob so no expert, just thinking of other options...
Can you root the phone? Install cwm and do it through that instead of factory recovery?

[Q] No Lockscreen/Power Menu, Amongst Other Problems...

Okay, so I've been pretty flash-happy the past few days, especially with the release to UCLD2 and stuff, but after the last few flashes I've noticed that I've lost my power menu and my lockscreen does not activate. I've already searched around and tried many methods of fixing it, but I may have been digging my hole deeper...
I've tried pasting keystr into /efs/imei, but no for some reason when I try creating a file in /efs/imei in Root Explorer it doesn't even show up...
I also tried using the terminal method, but whenever I type the line "echo -n ON > /efs/imei/keystr" it returns an Input/Output Error.
I'm really confused on what to do, files seem to be not appearing where they should be and I'm kinda worried, I like this phone so much! If anybody can help me out, I'd be greatly appreciated, and I can provide any files/info that is needed.

Much appreciated I'll try it out now. Thanks.
im having the same problem my thing is i cant get into odin to go back to stock to dl cwm, and then root explorer to do the keystr method

From bricked to fixed.

I was caught in a boot loop and tried to re flash, when in my haste I forgot that Odin will recheck partition when loading .Pit files (pretty lame feature)
Still it was my fault for clicking start in haste.
**phone was partitioned, and would not go into download mode, it was stuck in a screen that said "Firmware update error, please restore in Kies", but it wouldn't connect to kies**
I sent my phone to XDA member Connexion2005

I haven't got it in my hands yet, but he just told me it was fixed, I can't wait to get it back and leave it the hell alone (until someone makes CM7 or better work on it)
anyhow, this is out there so if you do what I did (DON'T) there's a solution. Set me back $50 plus shipping to TX from NYC but still, I didn't have to get a whole new phone.

Please elaborate. Not finding much info on this "uberfixit", but it sounds like it's some method of re-creating the stock filesystem that's flashable in odin?
I was putting this out there, because I'm not the only one that this will happen to.
yea it happens when you repartition, an uberfixit requires a complete dump of the phone and quite a bit of time, but will completely fix what you described
the problem with repartitioning is that it wipes the phone clean and then starts to reinstall everything, problem is neither one of teh tars has the full dump (we do it for the sake of saving actual bricks)
knowing someone who can jtag is great we have had a few epic 4g touches that crashed and burned and were saved via jtag.

it's all good, bottom line is I f'd up my device, but now its fixed.
um...yeah...
So i did the exact same thing as you... Been trying to find anyone who can help me out. Is there anyway I can fix it myself? I haven't found a single place in my whole state that can fix the problem. If at all possible, I'd like to avoid sending it out for repair.
So how do I get this uberfixit?
I stupidly re-partitioned using Odin, also: I did not realize that Odin re-checked the check box -even after unchecking- when a new pda file was loaded. My bad. Totally though it was bricked until i was able to flash this stock gingerbread rom, but now kies says that my Blaze S does not qualify for upgrades... Did the re-partitioning do this?
I can no longer get to the recovery screen, although if I restart my blaze while connected to a pc via usb, it does allow the "re-install OS?" page to display, and I can get to recover from there: But absolutely no more access to the recovery "menu" which allows me to wipe cache/restore to factory/etc.

No need to pay anyone lol just pull the battery and go back to download mode (for Odin) again and revert back to stock. A quick search through 'bricked' type threads would have netted this info
