This may seems stupid but I just got a dock delivered last night off Ebay and was wondering where the s/n is. On the tablet, I know for sure but haven't really gone over the dock too much yet.

How can I tell the date of purchase? I forgot when I got it
EDIT: looked on best buy

It's on a sticker thats on the front of the dock (Under the touchpad)
Unless it peeled off, then there's almost no way to tell Dx, I keep that stuff on though.
What's weird is I have a B70kas tab but a b90kas dock.

If its still under gtee why not take it back to the retailer (if possible) as i know from the electrical retailer company i work for the dock is classed as an accessory and we would exchange or refund (basically Asus dont want it back)

I want the car dock but wonder if it will fit with a protector skin/film on?

(Whoop edited with live links finally )
Most likely it won't fit with a case. May be for a film. It looks like quite a tight fit.

The dock I have been waiting for so patiently has no speakers!!!!!!! This is lame...
To compete with iphone we need a good dock with speakers! A dock is all I wanted for my first fathers day, and now I don't think I want it...
Disappointing this!
The lack of speakers isn't a big deal to me. I mean, the built in speaker is solid enough, and it looks to me like the dock would only cove half of the SGS, so you could plug in headphones or your own speakers.
My guess about the lack of speakers is that the horrible evil iPhone plug has contacts for headphones/speakers there. You could build one for the SGS, but you'd have to have a truly separate 3.5mm jack, and in horizontal orientation you'd have to be very careful sliding it in and out to avoid breaking it.
Also, this dock is very small, and so having anything on board would seem unlikely. I expect there will be some 3rd party docks coming soon enough to cover what you want.

I am feeling a little betrayed by Samsung. Why can't they just get their act together and release the promised accessories? It's been 3 months already.
The Extended Battery Case looks ugly, but sadly is of great interest to me...
Actually, Handtec is now also showing some accessories available as Pre-order. It includes the Desktop Dock, Car Dock, a Leather Pouch, Replacement Battery and even an Official Capacitive Stylus for the Galaxy S.
Here is a link to these accessories: http://www.handtec.co.uk/search.php?xSearch=galaxy+s&submit=search+for+products
It's a shame, that they don't get the accesoires in stock.
I'm from Germany and they announced the Home Dock 4 Weeks ago and still nothing.
It is getting ridiculous now, I doubt if the desk cradle will ever hit the market.
Anyone any updates about this?

Sorry I thought everyone knew. The official desk and vehicle docks have been discontinued. My money has been returned due to this from Mobilefun. When I asked Samsung customer services about it they said Samsung don't make them but third party's do. I pointed them to the press release and they said they would contact head office in Korea. Not heard from them since.

Prime dock is not locking properly

I recently exchanged my Prime for an Infinity and I'm noticing that the latch is not locking all the way. Damn it Asus! haha. Always something wrong. The latch locks partially and then I can slide it all the way to the right, if I don't, it can come off. I expect a 500 dollar device to get this kind of things right. I like the tablet but man I'm not sure I'll buy from Asus ever again.
Did you purchase a new dock or use the dock from the original Prime? Asus has stated that they are not compatible, even though they do work... Others have found the same issue with the tf201 dock...

I have the Prime dock. Yeah the website's search wasn't working but I found a topic where others talked about it. Oh well, I'm just gonna have to deal with it.
Just saw this at the Asus' site:
(The Eee Pad Transformer Prime mobile dock is NOT compatible with Transformer Pad Infinity)
Interesting. I bought the Infinity and the dock to go with it, but it is clearly a 201 dock. The box has a big sticker on it with TF700 but underneath it has the TF201 written above part number.
Mine locks in fine - what Serial number is yours? Mine starts with C7 (the dock, not the tablet)....
I have seen others saying the same thing, but since we essentially have the same dock, it baffles me that min locks perfectly fine and yours does not.
My TF201 dock does exactly the same. Nothing to worry about really. You just have to remember to latch it fully.
Yeah, there is obviously *some* difference in the docking portion of the TF201-specific dock. I know that someone did a teardown of both and they looked identical, but they didn't acutually go to the level of tearing down and comparing the actual docking part of the dock - I'm guessing that is where there is a slight difference...

It starts with C4.
Someone said it locked fine for him after some use, maybe the spring got softer. Hopefully I'll be as lucky.
Mine had docking issues the first few days, too. Had to manually force it to lock. (Push the tablet in as far as it can go and move the slide myself.) Now it works fine.
Bought it as one pack because the Netherlands doesn't have the loose variant at all, but the dock is a 201 regardless.
My UK Infinity supplied with the dock is being returned as the right hand pin doesn't lock the tablet. The lock pin slides completely to the locked position but the tablet can still be lifted out on that side (the left side stays locked).
I have to say I'm very disappointed that a premium device has shipped with such a fault - but have to commend Amazon UK's customer service in getting the issue resolved.
I have the same issue, i bought the device from the u.s but i live in the uk. It has been for repir 3 times and today i got it back and the problem still persists, I have been told that they will not exchange it and all that can be offered is further repairs. Each time i have sent it for repairs they have damaged my device. I am at a loss as to what my next course of action should be? The repair centre is in the czech republic. Can anyone offer any advise please? My dock is the correct one even though it was labled as tf201.i emailed asus with my seriel number and they confirmed it was the correct dock for my infinty.
I have the TF201 dock (the actual TF201 dock, bought at the same time with my ex-Prime). It fits exactly how it is described in this forum where the latch doesn't fully close unless you push it closed.
I think this is because the Infinity feels just a tiny bit thicker around the edges, therefore it doesn't fit properly in the dock and applies more pressure to it.
It's really not much of an inconvenience. I just gotta put a little more force into docking the tablet, and make sure to place the latch properly. In my opinion its not worth sending in for repairs because it works as intended, just needs a little more push since its not technically designed for the TF700.
One little trick to getting the TF700 to fit nice and easy into the TF201 that I found was, when docking it first push the tablet's docking edge a little bit into the docking part of the dock, then place it flush against the back-part of that component. While applying a little pressure to the back-part, slide it into the dock. This alleviates much of the resistance the dock gives usually, and I barely have to apply any more pressure; in fact it feels as if I am sliding the correct tablet, the TF201 into the TF201 dock.
Of course every dock could be different due to bad QC or wear-and-tear. My friend's TF201 dock got really really loose and the TF700 slides right in a little too easy to the point that it rocks a bit in the dock.
If you insist you can try to find the actual TF700 dock, I have never seen one in the wild but I am assuming that it will fit properly with the TF700, without that slight little extra bit of squeeze.

Thanks for your reply but I should explain further. I bought my device from the USA from a company called buyspry. The device has been in for 3 repairs from the UK and the dock does not stay attached. It does not fully lock and has been damaged by the repair centre. I was given the option of something called buy back from asus e.u. I was asked by the service manager in the UK to send a copy of my receipt which I did. I was further told that they would not accept my receipt because it was purchased from ebay and I was told the company are not an authorised asus stockist.
I have contacted this company and they have confirmed that they are an authorised asus stockist. Asus UK will not accept my ebay receipt but I have a commercial invoice. I have emailed the company in the USA and I am awaiting a reply from them as I have requested an email of the commercial invoice which needs to state there VAT number. Hopefully if this is accepted by asus UK I will be given a full refund. The whole process has been a nightmare and as such I regret buying from the USA as replacements are not offered in the UK and no swap stocks are available and the only other option I have is to send it for a further repair. I have owned the device for 2 months and for half that time it has been in for repairs. Each repair was made worse by dents and scratches and the screen bleed is just as bad if not worse. I hope this is of use to anyone experiencing these issues with a device bought from the usa.
Similar problem - which bit did you send back?

[Q] F700 Keyboard Dock Unavailable

Hi,
The tf700 keyboard dock is not listed on NewEgg anymore, and Amazon says it is unavailable, and has the following message:
-----------------------------------------
Item Under Review
While this item is available from other marketplace sellers on this page, it is not currently offered by Amazon.com because customers have told us there may be something wrong with our inventory of the item, the way we are shipping it, or the way it's described here. (Thanks for the tip!)
We're working to fix the problem as quickly as possible.
-----------------------------------------
Does anyone know of any probelms with this keyboard? I was about to buy one.
They are available at other dealers, but if NewEgg and Amazon pull them, then there must be something unusal going on.
Thanks.
Alan
My dock works perfectly. I haven't seen other reports on XDA or other communities where there's issues.
It may be because people are complaining it's the same keyboard as what was shipped with the TF201 (which is the version I and many others have, works without a hitch).

I think the latter is the issue here -- as far as I recall, there hasn't been a single case of a 'true' TF700 keyboard being sold online, as they have all been relabeled TF201 keyboards. I was one of the first worldwide to get my mitts on the TF700, pre-retail -- one of the first units, and before any 'run' on keyboard post-retail -- and have a TF201 keyboard dock as well. Although it is working perfectly, it's not a "TF700 keyboard" but a "TF700-compatible keyboard"... I guess that's why they've currently pulled it from retail, just for online rebranding.

Actually, there is a separate TF700 keyboard dock, P/N TF700T-DOCK-GR.
1. It has a slightly differently contoured shape than the TF201 keyboard.
2.This difference in contouring helps with the tipping back of the previous model.
3. Because of the recountouring, it has a slightly smaller battery.

Not true. Both docks were disassembled by another user here (with pictures). The batteries are the exact same size and power. I tend to think that there *is* a slight difference in the docking portion of the dock, which is why some TF201 dock users have issues with the sliding lock, but I don't even have any proof of that. Otherwise, they are identical....

I'm not sure what's proven and not proven.
It's better to read through all the reviews that are still present on Amazon, and were on NewEgg until the item was pulled there, where other people have checked into this with Asus. Those reviews give a much greater breadth of peoples' experience.
May the breakdown was of the earliest units shipped.

Yes.
Their listing has changed today.
Description no longer says compatible with TF201, unless I don't see it there.
It is again being sold by Amazon directly. Yesterday it had the warning that it was pulled by Amazon, and was only being sold by independent third-party dealers who sell through Amazon.
Still hasn't reappeared on NewEgg.

Ebay - Asus 32GB TF300-B1 EEE - $180

Hi all...I found this deal on Ebay for an Asus 32gb TF300-B1 (not enough posts to leave a link....google search for "Asus 32GB TF300-B1 EEE Pad Transformer" should pull the listing in the first few entries).
It seems to have the same specs as the TF300F. Is this the same machine as TF300F and therefore can flash ROMS developed for it? Is this a good deal (it's refurbished of course)? worth the bother? etc...
Thanks for any info you can provide!
OK never mind....

I bought a Refurbished TF300T for the same price on Ebay. Works great for me and in great condition. I would definitely recommend preping to put a ROM on it if you get it, mine suffers from some lag in some of the Chrome/Internet browsers, but oythers have reported it as well. I dont game on it so I can't really comment on that, but for Surfing the web, Netflix, XBMC, Reading...media consumtion...it fits my needs perfectly. Will be even better when I get a clean, stock Rom on it.
Since my TF300T motherboard failed (according to Asus tech) They want $200 to fix it. I found that Fry's is selling a brand new Tf300T for $200. I guess I will have to buy that one as Asus does not warranty their parts or repairs. I just bought a case for my tablet and docking station 2 days before my tablet died. It hadnt even arrived before I sent the tablet to Asus.
Please ignore this. I just went to order and it is out of stock. Sucks. I have a dock, a new case for both, and a great leather case for tablet only. what a waste. Thank you Asus for not caring about your customers.
I was only 3 months out of warranty when it went out. I guess I wont be buying any other Asus components for the computers I buy if they have such low quality customer service.

Sounds like the motherboard, except they rarely, if ever, go out like that without some kind of impact. Did you try to charge it? I mean if the battery ever comes loose for example, it evidently cannot turn on.
If you bought a refurbished, all the more reason to open it and troubleshoot. You're in San Diego. If you want, I can loan you a working motherboard without audio so you can try to make sure it's your motherboard.

Replacement USB-C to 3.5mm adapter?

I don't even know why Motorola trusted me with this tiny ass adapter But I lost the darn thing in a day. Not an answer, but similar question...does anyone know if a usb c to 3.5 mm male cord exists?
My headphones have a removeable cord 3.5mm male on both ends...itd be nice to have a cable as opposed to an adapter.

Yeah they're pretty cheap, but they all come from China.
I am thinking that will be the only option as the original is from China...and I briefly looked into it when I first bought the phone, I was then unlucky enough to receive a defective device and returned it for a replacement...well the adapter was in the bag not the box so I got a spare for the inconvenience of returning to the store.
Bump. Has anyone found a seller in the states? The only places that seem to sell them are from China.
Honestly, if you're a regular listener to music it might be time to go BT.
I've been using BT almost exclusively for a long time and and it's really nice.
First, no tangling of cords. No having to un-knot the mess when you take 'em out of your pocket or bag... no worry about snagging them on something when I'm sitting on the bus communicating to work.
Second, additional controls. Most BT headsets have controls for volume as well as track control so you can adjust without having to open the music app on your phone if you playing a game, checking email, or reading a book. Or...
Third, you don't need to be right next to your phone. You could have your phone tucked away in a purse or bag or briefcase or backpack and still listen to music. Or you could have it sitting on the charge on the counter while you're moving around the house... as long as you're not too far away of course.
Not, I'm not a serious audiophile, so I admit that there may be some degradation of sound quality going via BT. It's no problem for me, but I can understand that it might be so for some people. But unless your the type that really needs super good sound quality... or you just don't have the extra cash handy, BT is the way to go in my humble opinion.

I too only found ones from China, and I finally found a listing in the US for the exact same product in the chinese listings, the white one, and I bought 3 of them. Huge mistake, don't go for them. They don't support stereo headphones :silly:
Huge waste of money. I too decided to go bluetooth as the poster above me, I use a pair of Beats Studio 2.0 (I know you guys hate beats, blah blah blah) and they work great. I did manage to RMA my phone though, as I was having some issues with the power button, and they just sent me a completely new Moto Z Force Droid in box, so I have a spare turbo charger and a new headset adapter

Just came across two eBay listings for what appear to be OEM replacement adapters (SKN6474A), thought I'd share (after I bought two for myself, natch). Kinda weird: same seller, but the first link is for $7.99 Buy-It-Now, the 2nd is for $9.99 but accepting offers. Haven't received them yet so can't say for sure they're the real deal, but the seller has 100% with 150 ratings. Act quick!
