I was charging my phone as usual and had to go out. I removed it from the wall charger and since then, its been beeping and reporting " charging paused, voltage too high " and the battery drains out too quick. I use Android ver 4.0.3, FoxHound Grey XWLP9. Please help
Turn off the phone and let the battery cool down, then retry to charge it. do u use original charger?
that didnt work. I have left it out for almost 24 hours and used my spare battery. It just keeps blinking and beeping that message charging paused, voltage too high.

My Fuze doesn't charge when connected to charger or connected to sync cable, I notice that when i connect to the charger and leave for a while the battery percentage remains the same, if i reset the phone the battery level will show a higher percentage, number would decrease but never would it increase when charger is plugged, to see the increased figure i have to reset the phone. For example, if my battery power is 1% and i plug the charger to the phone, it will remain at 1% the battery icon wont even come on, nor does the LED indicator, If i reset the phone then i would see say 20%, if i reset right away then it would show eaither a higher figer like 37% or a lower figure like 11%. I really dont whats wrong.
If we leave the battery display.
Could you confirm whether your battery is getting charged or not. I mean charger or connector is working.
How old is your battery? Could it have been over discharged?

Yes the battery is getting charge, it just doesn't show the percentage increase nor does it show the fork like icon when the charger is connected, and its doesnt sync. However The battery does get charge.

I have two batteries, one that i normally use, which is abt a year old. the other that i charge as a spare and carry with me every once in a while is abt 6 months old, and the i have tried them both,i get the same results.
I bought this item from exportprive and not satisfied with it at all. It has 3 lights which show battery charge level (RED > GREEN > Orange %100). When I try to charge my battery with it, it stucks in green light every time.I never saw orange light on it. It means that it never succeeded to charge my battery fully and wont be able to do it ever.
I try to charge from PC or stock charger, after 10-12hrs result is still same,it never turns to Orange.I requested for refund or replacement.
Any suggestion about solution or alternative battery charger which is capable to charge %100 ???
Thanks.
I would say it isnt possible because your i9000 battery does have a chip which prevents overloading the battery and stops by ~98~99%
maybe your charger is tricked by that procedure ?

ok you are obviously new here and to modding your phone (NooB)
the galaxy s and in fact all phones the battery has a chip thats stops charging and 96% its a safety thing thats built in to keep the battery form overcharging and possible explosion + it preserves you battery
it appears that you have 100 percent but in reality it 96%
if you want to get a full 100% and waste you battery i recommend
MIUI/CM7 with glitch kernel get nstools form the market and set the charging limit
hit the thanks button
Actually charger has to stop and show orange light when its %96.But it keeps showing green all time. So its hard to realize that when I need to pull off charger from plug.
Thanks for answers.
I think I need a better charger for this issue which can be stopped charging when its full charged.
Hi everyone
My problem is.. my DS started to charge slowly.
Now it doesn't really charge slowly, If I check the voltage, I will get like 4220mv but as soon as it reaches that, the charging graph just goes flat.
If say I have charged it to 70% and it started going slow. i switch it off, place on the charger, and the lamp goes green. I turn it on, and it is showing 100%.
I have tried calibrations, diffirent kernels, wiping, factory resets e.t.c.
Another thing is that if I will run a v6 battery calibrator,it will show that actually I should have a 100% charge although a phone is showing only 70%.
So the summary: Phone charges normally when off (when recovery monitors charging), showing the correct voltage when on... But showing the wrong percentage if on charge.
Also sometimes if the battery is like 14% left. And I turn the phone off and then on again, it will show 22% bearing the same voltage as when it was 14%.
Question: Is there any way to tweak the battery indicator so it would show % values same as the v6 calibrator does it or is it a hardware fault, if yes, which part of it ?
This happens to me on my older (original) battery, but not my new one. I bought the second battery when this problem started happening. So, I think it's just a symptom of an old battery.
By the way, if you leave it on charge long enough, it will eventually jump up to 100%.
Other than this weird behaviour, it has no real impact on anything.
Sent from my Nexus 7
Thought so, mines been acting similarly lately, but strangely enough it seems to be getting better
I think I found out..
I actually purchased a new battery recently, because my old one was jumping like crazy and started discharging in a few hours..
This new battery I bought from a mobile repair shop.
It is a cheap chinese battery with no name, anyhow I just took it out to take a look at it...
And guess what, it sais 1200mah..
Can the phone be confused because of that ?
Hi, guys!
After updating my phone to 5.1.1 I now have a weird scenario when charging my phone.
I would let my phone die, and then when I charge it I would switch it on when it gets to round about 10%. Upon start up my battery display in the notification panel will say around 50-60%?! I'm really confused. Is there a way I can reset this? I have tried cycling the battery but that hasn't solved it.
Any suggestions are welcome!
Thanks,
Paul.
afaik its not good to leave the battery go below 5%
i always try to keep my battery between 40% and 90%
after an os update it takes a couple of weeks for the new os to adjust itself to the battery and the more you use it the better it will predict the remaining battery level
I have issue with battery charging too. When i plug it charging is fine ,but when i get phone on my hand to use Then stop charging like 10-20 mA from 1100 mA. Any suggestions?
Hi everyone, im having a problem with this phone:
1- Charging the phone never reach 100% in one charge, it always stops charing at a random number, for example 70%, no matter how much time i let the phone charging it never goes past that. The solution is unplug and plug again, then it reaches 100%.
2- The number 1 is not a big deal but this is. The phone automatically turn off at a random number again, let say 66%, and i cant turn it on. If i connect the phone to the charger it says 0% battery. Is not like the % freezes at 66% and i use it all day and then turn off. For example, i have the phone at 100%, i start using it and i see the % going down like normal and after an hour or two of using it suddenly turn off and im not able to turn it on again because the battery is at 0%.
I tried:
Hard reset, wiping cache, data.
Hard reset, wiping cache, data and installing the latest stock rom.
New battery.
Different charger.
I have no idea what else to try, anyone have a clue?
Thanks!
I think the battery is broken, also had the problem. Then I bought me one on Ebay for 9,99€ and now everything is good again.
Try using a -known- good cable and charger.
Make sure the port contacts are clean and debris free. Always charge with screen off.
You can also try powering the phone off and see if this alters its charging pattern.
My best guess...
When it auto shuts down again pull the battery and measure its actual voltage to determine if it's at about 6%.
If actual voltage indicates it's at 6%* may be a bad battery (limited capacity) or a hardware failure (shutting the charge cycle down prematurely).
If battery actually has 20% or higher when the phone shuts down) it indicates a hardware failure in the phone.
If battery temp exceeds about 102°F during charging the phone will abort the charge; make sure this isn't the cause. A hot charging battery in a cool room could indicate a battery or hardware failure. If battery temp exceeds 107°F or so in operation the phone may also auto shutdown.
Excessive cold (>32°F) will effect battery capacity severely.
Don't charge a cold Li battery (under 70°F).
Never charge if at or below freezing**.
Li's like a charge temp range of 80-95°F
They prefer frequent, short mid range charge cycles (40-65%) vs topping them off beyond 80%
*hunt down the voltage/% charge for this battery
**can cause Li plating which will permanently degrade the cell
