Can you guys recommend some HD games that run good on the skyrocket??

I haven't played it yet but I think the game "shadowgun" has the best visuals of a game out right now. Its not free though.

Shadow gun is dope and looks like gears of war game play is very similar to it also check it out its pretty cool:thumbup:

Yeah, shadow gun looks pretty good...but I dont think it is worth 5 bucks! I'd rather donate to a dev here than that...zz will prolly try it out if I can't find any other good ones

I bought shadow gun and its fun to show off and awesome on the tablet especially but I'm not more than five minutes in. Just doesn't pull me. I don't game much on mobile these days tbh. I'd most want to play an RTS but there arent many.

I actually want some games to really show off the performance on this phone...u know...but at the same time, i want some generic games that all people might be interested in

You guys should try this thing called "onlive". It streams current Gen games to your phone. You can use it on your pc to but I was using it on my captivate. Barely any lag. It matters on your net speed, not processor. It blew my mind. Nice to show off to friends.

ok...a quick review of games that i have tried on so far...
shadowgun--absolutely worth the 5 bucks that we pay, and also awesome graphics
spirit--fun and looks gud on big screen
Asphalt was good too
shine runner--nice graphics, but the game gets monotonous after a while
Flick Soccer--really good if u r a soccer fan, an absolute time killer

Shadowgun, Dead Space and GTA3 are beasts. Worth the $$. I am a sucker for World of Goo though. So good

[SOLVED!]Need help. I'm Looking for a game I can't find.

The name of the app was Spiderman.
I've searched the Market and app brain to no avail.
I'm sure it was taken off the market because of its name. It had nothing to do with THE Spiderman and was probably a copyright infringement.
This game was a very simple yet addictive game for me.
It involved a stick figure who would swing on a rope from platform to platform (the platforms would get narrower) and you had to release "him" in hopes of landing him in the center. That was how you gained the most points. When you hit the platform your phone would vibrate subtlety.
As the game progressed so would the wind speed and gravity that the user has to take into account for a good release. You miss the platform you die.
If anyone has this game please post it here (It was a free game). Or if you know of a similar game I would Greatly Appreciate knowing about it.

[IDEA] New best android game?

I decided to give mobile platform a try. I worked before alot with java and it shouldnt be a problem. Im going to make start with games since they are way more fun to code than utility apps. Now the first problem would be the whole idea and concept of the game. I was thinking about some sort of sneaking game where you have to remain silent(not moving too fast), avoid lights and maybe security cameras. This would have traps along the way as well. Developing levels is not easy but this sort of game will just not work on score.
That's my idea. Now...tell me your ideas about a new game concept. The more ideas I get the better it is.

And since theres no Metal Gear for Android, (besides fpse), I say go for it.
Gameloft has made a career out of offering us games that the original devs for whatever reason don't offer us on Android.
**note: I love Gameloft games, they are at least high quality knock offs of popular games.

something like transformers where player can become robot and car both and fight with other robot (maybe via internet too)

Exactly! We need a good turn based RPG with an awesome story, gameplay and graphics. It's going to be a day one purchase for me whatever the price. I just miss those games.

A multiplayer game, phone vs phone via Bluetooth or something like that would be wicked. Especially if you don't need a data connection to do so

Hello, i have ideas to several games, all of them multiplayer.
Multiplayer via wifi or data connection.
I think they can be very successful, something Android havent seen yet.
But i dont think they can be made with one dev only.
And im not a dev.

A bomberman clone of some sort ? Definately with local and online multiplayer though or else it would be "just another bomberman clone" .

What are some good retro platformers?

I already have most of OrangePixel's games(Meganoid, INC, etc.) and They Need To Be Fed, but can't find any other good ones. I don't want something like Cordy or Robotto. I'd prefer something more retro-like and also PLAY optimized, if possible. Thanks.

Have you tried Don't look back? Only some of the play controls work. I've finished it and quite enjoyed it despite it's basic gameplay.
Project 83113 is also great but not really retro

@UndisputedGuy I've already beaten Karoshi & Gunman Clive before, but Tap n Crash looks a lot like impossible game, which is good.
@TLRtheory Giana Sisters & Pixeline...No. Paper Monsters looks OK at most. These all seem too childish to me. Thanks anyways.
@Leraeniesh Unfortunately, I've already beaten every Metroid & Castlevania multiple times. It's too bad Metroidvania is dying. Great recommendation though.

Have you tried Megatroid? It's free but I don't think it's optimised for the Xperia Play

Gunman Clive was way too short and I found Paper Monsters to be very very boring. I would certainly agree with the Lode Runner X recommendation even though it isn't a platformer. I would also try Ninjammin Beat-Jitsu even though it's a bit more of a rhythm based game.

@UndisputedGuy I will definitely check out Megatroid. It looks really fun! You're on fire today!

Good point! In my tired state I forgot to mention how much fun I had with Gunman Clive. Great game, but because of that the shortness made me even more sad.

So I got Megatroid, and I gotta say it's pretty awesome. It's pretty much what I was looking for. I really like how the game randomly generates a level based on an entered code as well as all the upgrades in the shop. These give it a lot of replay value. BTW, it actually is Xperia PLAY optimized, but only in-game, which means the menu buttons are only accessible via touch. That doesn't really matter though.
