[Q][Req] App to listen to YouTube in the background - Android Apps and Games

Hello
Does anyone know of an app to listen to YouTube audio in the background while I can do things like browse the Internet?
This would be useful to listen to music.
Thanks!

Try PVSTAR+

This looks and sounds right, but when I try to play a video, it just sits on 'now loading...'.
Any idea what might be wrong?
I have a fast connection, and it only takes a few seconds to open on the YouTube app.

Supervideo, its that pop up video player, like sgs3. Open utube then share....click supervideo.

LisTube....its better then PVSTAR+....just not as well known. It does what you want.

Is it possible to hear music with LisTube while the screen is off?

Background playback in Listube doesnt work with a galaxy sii in android 4.03. Not for me anyway.

Works, but an old UI and the search results are in a strange order.

I am having the same issue with UD as well. Quite curious what the issue is. Love the rom though.
Did you recently install the flash update? I did and it seems to have jacked up a lot of videos for me.

Picasa constantly syncing when there is nothing to sync

I've noticed the last few days and it bugs me. I hardly have anything in picasa and nothing had changed so wtf is synchronizing?
This happens on two phones, same google account, both on cm7 nightly builds. One is a Vibrant and the other is my glacier.
Any ideas?

Because it has to sync, even if there is nothing there; the point is that they are syncronised, the same, even if they have nothing there.
Just disable it if you don't use it

It's not a quick sync that disappears, it's an ongoing sync that lasts hella long.

But can't you disable it at all? Through the settings?

Ah, I took "hardly anything" as nothing xD My bad...!
Have you tried disabling and re-enabling Picasa from your phone? Basic thing I know, but this has worked for me in the past

[APPS] Hacked YouTube.apk

This is just a throw it out there kind of idea. I am currently on ICS but using an old hacked YouTube.apk that has a blue icon. I use it because it let's me listen to the video even with the screen powered off. What I was wondering was if it was possible to get the new hacked HD YouTube apk that a the latest YouTube version and let's you play 720p and make it so that it also continues to play with the screen locked? Further more if it is possible, could an apk be made that would continue to play in the background even after the home button was pressed so that the video played in the background while you were in the browser for example or in the texting app?
Also as a final thought, is it at all possible to bypass "the user hasn't made their video available on mobile message" and so the search would show all results as if on a PC?
All thoughts welcomed

I would like that
I'm using the hacked 2.4.4 Youtube app on my Epic 4G Touch, that allows me to watch videos in HD. If someone can make an app that plays HD on all devices, AND allows videos to play with the screen off, that'll be a WIN!
I also hope someone picks this up. Subscribed
You should call it modified YouTube Apk
Hacking sounds more evil
Correct me, my english is not the best but i try to learn.

The PVSTAR+ app that someone mentioned earlier in this thread is great as a Youtube app alternative that lets you play videos/audio in the background.....but a modded Youtube apk project regarding this would be excellent.
I appreciate all the support this is getting and I have contacted that dev and will post here when he replies

Same with Google music
Great app, so far it has been working well. One suggestion though, it would be great if you can display the file quality on the search result page as well, that would make it a lot easier to find higher quality files instead of going through them one by one.
Next update will have it!

Play YouTube videos on home screen?

How do I do this? I'm running Beans 11. I was able to do it on stock but that was a long time ago.

You sure that was a YouTube video and not just any other video played from your phone? I doubt YT had an option like that but then they removed it.
Hm I remember doing it on my Galaxy tab when I had one. And maybe my s3. My memory could be wrong though

If you would set the YouTube app as being used on a Tablet I see that that would be an option there yes why not but as the other fellow said above me checkout that app.
Yeah but I swore there was a button on the YouTube app where you could put the video on the home screen and move it around. Am I wrong on that?

Never mind guess it was just the video player

I think you have to download the video and then you can use the pictures in picture you are talking about. That little icon will become available and you press it and the you can move it around your home screen.

Yeah it's only for the stock Samsung video player. I'm running stock with root and that's the only app I can find with Picture-In-Picture.
So does anyone know whether you can use the stock video player to run youtube vids?
