CM9 does have build in video player, if you don't like it you can download MX Player from Google Play.

There isn't, it's build in, not an app per se.

By playing anything that is a video will automatically bring up the player.

My TF plays AVI just fine. Although since it's just a container format the results vary from video to video.
What player are you using?
Sometimes it says unable to play video

AVI is a container, so is MKV and MP4/M4V. What you stick in matters more than naming it .avi; same goes for PCs.

I don't believe so, it says it requires ICS
Yeah figured, looks really good though, they need to hurry up and release 4.0

If so, it would be in/system/app
If I may make a suggestion though, MX Player along with the proper Arm v7 / Neon codec is amazing on the tf300. Theres nothing it cant play

Where would I find those codecs? Only reason I want to do this is I'm trying to play tv portal on it but the playback isn't smooth. Where the same exact link plays flawlessly on my phone.

Install the GPU driver.
Lingowistico has a thread here:

It is ok to install a 4.2 GPU driver on a 4.3 android. Adreno hasn't released a newer one last I checked ... Last week

Thanks but i flashed it and it looks the same

Can you elaborate on the issue a little? Does it happen in other places other than HD movies? For HD movies you might need the corresponding codecs.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda app-developers app
I think he is trying to say that even videos played in YouTube in HD tend to be very pixelated and just don't look good.
