Sigh...this update has been discussed for weeks. Was supposed to improve network connectivity among other things. Most folks think it did squat.

Yes, I got update, too and I'm on vodafone. I got no clue about whats going to be fixed or improved :S. They really should attach a changelog for the geeks

Some information on the update.

I've seen better radio performance and overall stability with the update but my average quadrant score has dropped from 5300 to 4500.

Has anyone noticed they took away beats audio options with the new update?
Sent from my HTC VLE_U using xda premium

so nothing for EU version?

I'm with Vodafone UK, and there are no updates here. Still on 1.78.161.2.

Welcome to two weeks ago's discussion.

What? That's a part of this phone's personality, why would they do that?
Sent from my HTC VLE_U using XDA

My phone has been rather glitchy after the update.
Sent from my HTC VLE_U using XDA

The radio has helped my data speeds, but my battery life suffered for some reason.

I installed the update yesterday and it's not that bad. Only problem is that when I'm on wifi, my phone produces more heat than before. And my battery life dropped, too, not dramatically, but it's noticeable.
maybe the 2 problems I have are related?

I also go a vodafone branded HTC ONE S.... may you please give us the update version?
1.84?
You are with Vodafone about your contract... but maybe your ONE S it's not branded Vodafone.

Yes.. also for me. no update yet.
I suppose that this update it's only for the T-MOBILE USA version... and this do not mean that is the lastest for our European ONE S.

Will this phone be rootable or no?

I know it will take time before we get a clear answer but do YOU think this phone will have it's bootloader unlocked or some kind of work around?
I think S-off will come by HTC in the next couple of weeks

which is that i myself doubt that the bootloader will be unlocked... eventually if it would be unlocked it may not be very soon... coz of the evo 3D and i guess htc flyers too ? 3 different devices... that's just my opinion
Tomorrow???Well wouldn't that be sweet!!!

I could see HTC examining the costs and just bullshitting for awhile and then saying it would take too long so here's a $25 gift card for our ****ty music/video store.
i hope its soon....
dont get me wrong, sense 3 is nice etc.. but some things about it really get on my nerves - i like plain old android with a mix of CM goodies...
yeah i could live with Sense 3 if the memory mgmt was patched so Sense wasn't reloading all the time.

Anyone with a Three UK handset received an OTA update yet?

Basically as title says, would seem all other network providers are rolling out the update and I'm unable to find anything on the internet about three dishing it out. Any thoughts always welcome guys!

3 got it after Voda so your version should be higher. What version do you have?

Taiwanese OTA?

I see everyone else getting their OTA, but it seems like Taiwan has been left out. Does anyone have any idea when, or if, Taiwan will get one? My software number is 1.28.709.3.

Dead pixels?

I have noticed at the top of my screen in the notification bar clock there's a 1 to 2 mm line of black no matter what's on the screen colour wise. I have turned the screen off and put it under a bright light and found no dust evidence. So it must be dead pixels, Is there nothing I can do about this? Will it get worse over time?
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA App
Never noticed such an issue. But it could be a stuck pixels instead of a dead pixels.
Search for "Dead Pixel Detect and Fix"-App it could fix your problem.
(sry can't give you a external link, cuz it's my first post )
Thanks, found it and used but didn't work.
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA App
Hm sorry for you.
Are you using stock or a custom ROM ?
If so maybe give it a shot on an other ROM ?
Try looking at those pixels with full screen images of single colours at full brightness. If you don't find anything wrong around the pixels then there isn't anything wrong.
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA App
Tried that with 4 different colours and it stayed the same, every thing else on the screen is fine apart from a 1 to 2 mm black line just above the time above the time in the top right hand side of the screen.

Had the exact same problem. Sent it HTC and they confirm its a hardware problem covered under warranty. Still waiting to get it back though! :S
When did you send it?

It was in the same place? Not sure It's worth sending back so long for such a small fault which you can hardly notice. Unless it will get progress and get worst?
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA App
I think dead pixels tend to get worse over time. That was the reason why I sent it back in the first place. I don't think this kind of delay is norm. I was told that they were missing a part and they had to wait for it to come from abroad, hence the delay.
What to do with a phone I got of eBay and have branded from Orange to stock sin free. Do you think they will honors the hardware warranties.

They should honor the warranty, I had a phone bought from Mobicity in Australia and then I moved to Croatia. After a couple of months I had a dust issue and I sent a e-mail to the authorised servise in Croatia and they checked the IMEI if it is covered. I also dod S-ON and flashed an Asian RUU just to be safe.
I have a green dead pixel near the top left had it since day one :/

Carrier IQ

Given all the controversy over the app, I'm surprised there isn't a thread (that I found, anyway) here about it already here.
So, the simple question is: is it on the stock Gingerbread ROM for T-Mobile?
I loaded up the rooted OTA and ran the check for CIQ. I didn't find anything, but there was some HTC logging software I think.
Yea... i'll go put my tin foil hat on.
T mobile does not use it, at least not officially stated.

The question is do 3rd party developers use it. Once a phone is rooted and the stock OS is ripped out it shouldn't matter what they use on OE Handsets. Don't like the idea of Big Brother watching you, either rid yourself of the problem by removing the OS with the app, or don't do things that are against the law.
