Hey guys ever since I have switched over to AOPK roms my signal bars go grey like every 2-3 minutes and I lose data connection. Plz help it drives me crazy and prevents me from downloading anything and plus it is ridiculously annoying. I have searched all sorts of forums plz help. Here is my kernel info and radio. Oh yeah and whether if I use wrap.Cingular apn of att PTA apn its still the same.

Wtf I had the same problem after flashing rains linaro aokp build 38, so I did a full wipe of data system cache, then flashed cm9 official nightly and I still have the same problem. My browser will take forever to load anything too, even when the data isn't grey on both wifi and mobile data. I'm gonna try wiping again and reflashing radio and rom later, so hopefully that will work.
Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated though, thanks!
Edit: I'm using romracers ucle2 version if that makes any difference
So I reflashed romracers ucle radio twice, then wiped data system cache and restored my nandroid of cm9 alpha 4 that in was on before aokp, and that seems to have fixed everything
I do not know if this applies to all phones running 4.0.4, but I have AOKP on my GSM Galaxy Nexus and the signal drops frequently. I won't assume, and maybe someone else with more knowledge can confirm it, but this could be the same or similar issue.

So I'm running Absolution ROM 3.3 on an Inspire 4G, coming from CM7. The issued started when I had CM7 however, and continues on the absolution ROM. I've flashed a few radios over the last year, messed with RIL's, and changed the kernel once or twice but did my research everytime. The problem is I can't pinpoint exactly when the issue started popping up...
Here are the details of the issue... if I haven't made a call in quite a while and then I make or receive a call the person cannot hear me. I must press "Speaker" and then they can hear me (I usually just press it twice so it switches it on and then off again since I generally have no need to use "Speaker"). After this, if I were to hang up and call anyone else, or receive a call, it will behave fine.

I tried flashing the recommended radio for Absolution ROM "12.56.60.25_26.10.04.03_M" but the issues persisted. I just reflashed Absolution ROM 3.3 upon reading this was sometimes necessary to make the RIL work with radio correctly but haven't had a chance to test it yet.
I find it interesting (or maybe not) that the recommended radio for Absolution ROM is "12.56.60.25_26.10.04.03_M" ... and prior to flashing the linked radio on Absolution thread I had "12.56.60.25U_26.10.04.03_M" but now have "12.56.60.25P_26.10.04.03_M". I am not entirely sure what the "U" and "P" mean.
Any suggestions are welcome.
U and P are different Hsxpa settings in build prop. 2 = u and 3= p. 1 is also p but no one uses that. As for the speaker phone issue I am not sure if anyone has found a fix. It is a common problem though. I think google may sync some old sense settings from the locations app that get carried over when syncing accounts but I have never had this issue so I don't know for sure.
Anybody know why i can't access my 4G LTE or HSPA+ network on this rom? It's really weird because when i'm home, i have access to 3G, but as soon as i leave home, no data connection is made. I have full bars in an area where LTE works really well but it doesnt want to connect to it? Are there any known problemw ith this rom?
Try flashing different radios from the dev forum or try changing apn.

I had this problem before and no help. Got a new phone and same problem. I am not messing with settings. Just rooted. I had my old phone for almost a year before this problem and now I had this one for about a week and bam at 7pm I had the problem start again. I had not used the phone at all.

I called Verizon and they were 0 help as usual.
Well considering you're rooted and calling in with a problem that is not found on unrooted devices, they're not a problem.
When you have a problem with a rooted phone, XDA or the internet ia your friend, not Verizon.

Probably has something to do with the ROM (or some kind of add-on) you're using. You aren't just rooted.
this is a new rom than the last one i had that did his. but both are cm7 based.
also vzw said it was fine/normal
I had sort of the same problem..
I ended up fixing it by flashing a different rasio, for some reason when i flahed an AOSP rom it didn't flash the radio with it.
What radio do you have?
A ROM flash does not impact the radio.
Conversely, if the ROM and/or radio(s) you flash are incompatible, you will get issues.
If you are running a gingerbread ROM, you should be running the gingerbread radios. If running a ROM based on FroYo, same story.
The ROM specifications list should have what radios are needed.

I am using thundershed v1.2 and the latest radio. Ill flash another one and see
I tried another Rom this time a sense based one and everything is fine again
I tried an older radio and same deal.
Almost every time I wake up my phone it completely loses radio signal and I cant get or receive calls. Happens on 3 different roms and radios. It started after I changed my cellular carrier so it may be related. It may also happen why the phone sleep but doesn't seem to anymore since the last flash and modem: sky-ics 4.2F with uclf5 modem, also mohans kernel 1.5.
I did tons of searching at the closest thing I found is a nexus issue which is related to the kernel smart reflex function which with my limited knowledge couldn't find in our kernel files so I could use a script to turn it off.
And ideas?
Update: I tried using my brothers sim card in my phone(he has a different carrier) and mine and his phone, his phone is a dumb phone. On the skyrocket there were no signal loss during the few hours I tested it. On his phone I couldn't see signal loss as well tho its harder with no log.
I'm guessing the skyrocket and the carrier are conflicting in the software/maybe hardware level. I don't have enough knowledge to know how its possible tho.
It never happened on my old carrier, and I'll be happy if anyone got a clue how to help me find the issue.
Oh also for a while after I returned my sim to the skyrocket the issue was gone until I restarted it.

Hello, I have a problem, I have and always open bootloader and installed without problems cyanogenmod, carbon AOSP, etc ... Yesterday install AOKP and I have no wifi signal, no mac address appears to me, went back to the 4.2 meter by flastool. 2 version .17 and I started the process again, doing the dalvik cache and format system / format.
Probe with thunder and phantom and kernels either.
I never had this before last as long probe many roms.
Someone tell me would know that there is solution for this? Thanks

By saying 17fw,are you sure you're flashing latest one...or maybe you're flashing the older one that is 4.1.2?
