[Poll]How do you prefer to buy your phone?

So I have been wondering for a while how we here on XDA like to buy our phones.
I hope to catch most everyone with the following categories. And please leave a comment on why you buy the way you do.
Please help me figure this out!

I always have to buy them outside from my country because immediate availability and better price

I trade my Phones on XDA, good deals lol

Sell my old phone on eBay and buy the new one I want at full retail.

I will look for online stores that can provide me handsets at discounted rates with complete reliability.

got my used T-Mob HD2 on ebay.. not available in my country, so the only possibility is to buy it from there..

I like buying my phones online since I get a better selection to choose from and no dealing with pushy salespersons....

I normally buy phones from Craigslist since people in my area don't really seem to know the worth of phones. I got my MyTouch4g the week after it was released for 300. Then I sell the older phones on eBay.

I prefer eBay or something like that. Contracts try to hold you down.lol

I shop for mine online. Best deals hands down.

Prefer prepaid full retail, or second hand.
I won my current phone though Huawei IDEOS for free

Almost always off contract, but I try to buy used or refurbished.

I will buy it on Contract. I can get any phone of my choice at cheaper price and it doesnt matter that after contract gets end I will have to gave my phone back.

Most of the time I pay the upgraded price of the phone. Ie. Whatever it cost with a 2 year extension.

i have an htc aria but a friend of mine has the inspire and i really like it im in between jobs at the moment and was wondering if anyone knows where i can get an inspire for cheap any help would be greatly appriceated

depending on where you are in your contract with AT&T, you might be able to get one for as low as $59, depending on the reseller and if they are willing to use part of their commission to give you a discount for a two-year renewal. If it is too early for you to qualify for a discount on the upgrade, try Amazon, eBay or Craigslist.

Costco has them for $.01 with new contract. And $19.99 with an upgrade.

What about no contract. Cuz I just upgraded couple months ago

no contract is 399, which is incredibly cheap for a phone full price. i'm tempted to buy this every day because of its 399 price tag. other devices are 550-600 for the same quality phone.
your other choice is craigslist or ebay. great deals exist.

Tmobile USA California price for the Sensation?

How much is this phone going to be on the usual 2 years extended contract deal? The usual 199?I should be able to get this phone since I think my contract is about up (checked online and im able to get any phone with their upgrade selling price) and i wanted to know how much I should sell my vision for to help purchase this device. Thanks.

[Q] Low priced Sensation 4G?

Anyone have any idea where can buy an HTC Sensation 4G for $250? Not rioted, not unlocked, just stock and refurbished (as if I could get an unsubsidized one for so low) ? I'm getting into porting random ROMs to the myTouch 4G, but I need a secondary Android phone for when the MT4G blows up on me.

you will never find it for $250. Even a used mint one on craigslist is a bit below $400. Unless you can find a really stupid seller

How far from your upgrade date are you? I just upgraded for $199+tax, no upgrade fee, no rebate necessary and free shipping. My full upgrade wasn't for another 6 months. The price that I was offered on t-mobile.com was $329-$50 rebate + tax and upgrade fee. Total upfront cost would have been about $375. I called retentions and they hooked me up. Total upfront cost ended up being $235. I'm still going to send off for the rebate and I'll probably get it too.

Actually, I bought my phone off contract.

If you're looking to get it off contact, to get one for the price you're looking to pay you'll probably have to wait for a while for resale prices to come down or accept one with some damage.

The only thing I can think of is get one for $350, then flip it for $450, then get another for $350 and there you go.

Lol that means you would have to find two sellers that would sell their sensations for 350 AND then sell your sensation for 450. Thatspretty hard

I'm coming from an iPhone 4 with a 3G micro-sim. So that kind of forces me to go get the HTC One X at an AT&T store so I can get a new micro-sim that's compatible with 4G LTE. I will also be buying off contract, so I assume its going to be $550 everywhere?

some places are 629 like best buy, and most should price match att.

Do you think best buy will match the radioshack price of $150?

I don't see why not? I haven't done it but when the skyrocket was released and select marketes were selling it for 149 i got my BB to price match... but some BB wouldn't so it depends on the BB.

They wont match online pricing, only physical store matching.

Is the 149 only online

Even if they do manage to screw it up, you can always get it back

I'm driving cross-country, leaving tomorrow, (this is why I didn't pre-order), but I think I'll be somewhere in Oklahoma City when the stores open and I'll stop somewhere there and pick one up

AT&T store, I won't shop at best buy on principle.
Sold my iPhone today (why the hell did I buy that thing?) and am picking up myOne X tomorrow

As much as I HATE best buy, a longer return window is better. Doesn't matter what I purchase, that's always a plus.

If you have a defective phone, you will now it within 1 week of purchase, especially us with this new phone, nobody has been putting it down and not playing with it. After a few weeks with the phone, you wont be returning it, lol.

Any other advantages by buying at Best Buy over ATT other than the longer return window?
