[Q] deep sleep??? - Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G

How do you get this phone to go into deep sleep mode when screen turns off. I think that's why my phone e dies so quickly cause its always awake technically even if the screen is turned off.
My transformer tf300t wouldn't go into deep sleep either until you flashed a custom build.prop found in dev section on xda.
Is that what needs to be done with the blaze too. Just no one has developed anything yet, or am I just blind or can't read and its out already? Lol
Please someone help me deep sleep (not the sleep of death, that wouldn't be good lol)

Looking for testers

I notice theres no custom roms yet or anything. I'm not a skilled dev or anything but right now im throwing together a deodexed stock rom, as well as a 1% battery mod.
I don't have a sidekick (my girlfriend does) so I cannot test it. Anyone willing to be my guinea pig?
I partially used a script with my deodexing since i dont have much time today so there might be a few FC's on some apps.
Maybe once I get more familiar with kernels and stuff i'll try and make a fully custom rom/kernel. I need a hobby anyways .
Or should I just post it up in the dev forum with giant red warning letters?
"Why are you here if you don't have a sidekick?" I have an epic4g and Learned a bit about android dev from there. The devs there are great and have the job covered. This is a new phone and and empty forum, figured i'd try and start off here and maybe my girl will let me put a rom i made on her phone :3
EDIT: PM me or post for a download link
I'm willing to test

lol if it won't brick it.. i'm down. just waiting on a new device.. current one is getting returned.
Port the touchwiz from epic 4g!!
Sent from my SGH-T839 using XDA App
Uploading right now.
It wont brick you, it doesn't overwrite any recovery or anything. Be sure to make a nandroid backup before flashing.
Oh and its prerooted of course.
edit: for a disclaimer i'll put it most likely wont brick you but flash at your own risk in case it does
Alright cool. I finally got clockwork working for me fully. Ready to test this out

[HELP] I9003 Dead after flash with i9000 ROM..

now my phone status is dead..cannot go in recovery mode and downloading mode..and when i plug in to my computer it will out OMAP3630 driver need to search it.any solution for me? thank you~
Mod Edit (1/13/12):
This thread is stickied to help in case someone flashed the i9000 instead of the i9003 files. IF this is your problem, please read through the thread to find a possible fix. If you're just wondering why this is stickied or want to post off topic, go to another mod's forum, OT posts will be deleted AND infractions will be given. This is a help thread for fixing a wrongly flashed phone, not a discussion on how to brick your phone by cooking the cpu.

Dont waste your time to samsung service station with good explanation, don't let them to say that you was upto flashing.

i9000
Im lost for words, did you not do any research on flashing, it is dotted all over the forum what will happen if you flashed a 9000 rom.
Indeed that is the hard reset to gain access to Dl mode, then pleeeaaaasssseeee, only flash a i9003 firmware, MUST be i9003, xxkpe is your best bet.
Lesson to be learnt, just coz its a galaxy does not mean its an i9000, they dont sell those anymore.

You can use jig brick tool made by three resistor to go recovery mode. try it now.
connect ur device to pc if sumthing happnes i mean ur screen glows or anything than ur phone is revivable........
1.) remove ur battery plug the usb cable n connect to pc...
2.)insert battery
3.)n quickly press the three button combo for downloading mode before the screen glows.....
if u r do it on perfect timing than u shud be able to open download mode now u knw wat to do..............
if ur pc not recognizing driver than shutdown pc remove power cable from the wall......wait sum time 10 secs atleast......connect again start ur pc n done....
dont remove ur phone connection with pc while shut down n start.....

just coz we are human, we cannot expect all to have working brains?
Even if we do have brains, human nature is to do something stupid...
A big part of me wants to intentionally brick my phone just to see if this would work LOL!

I've tried rom manager but not working.
By flame of the PHOENIX

just make a backup?
or
Gamble a little around , install lot of crap and if it breaks down, restore the backup taken before?
get cwm recovery.. go to recovery.. backup system..
ps: dnt open a new thread again how to get cwm recovery .. just flash the latest g3mod kernel.. kernel link on dev section & flashin guides in stickies there ..

repairable or bricked?

So lastnight i was flashing my phone to cm9 from 10 because it was to buggy for me to use right now... I used the rom manager like i have before, i made a backup so i can have all my data when i go back to 10 in the future, but something went wrong during the flash and it aborted, I flashed it myself in recovery mode after that and now it just hangs on the boot menu, I have the same files I used before and they were working for a good week or so. I was still able to boot in recovery and download, so i flashed the stock firmware, both the new ics and gingerbread .tars with odin and still it hangs on the boot menu.. I try to do anything in recovery mode like delete data / format, and It also hangs with a little android dude and a blue circle spinning. Is this repairable still? If not can i reset my flash count so i can take it in to att?
Try reflashing your kernel

Also try re downloading the rom. Bad downloads are always the cause of my boot loops. Do u know how to check md5? If not, Google it.
Edit...
Also, to answer your specific question: I think it's prolly repairable by you, since it at least boots. Did u try pulling battery?
Search for how to reset flash counter. That info is def available. Although I don't think you'll need it if you perform a few basic troubleshoots.

Im not sure what triggered it, but after flashing my phone 3 times lastnight i gave up, it didnt fix anything .. then today I reflashed the stock kernal and then I flashed the stock firmware once again and after that, it let me finally delete data/cache and format without hanging. booted right up after I did that.

I didn't see if he was using RM to flash. I never do that. I only use RM to fix permissions, nothing more. Is there a better way to fix permissions? If so, I'll drop RM in a heartbeat.

I thought I read somewhere in the Team Chopsticks instructions not to use ROM Manager or you risk bricking your phone?

As far as i'm aware, this is what most use. I'm pretty sure you can do it via recovery too, but i'm not sure if there's a difference.

[Q] Developers needed for ROM build feedback.

First thing I am sorry if I posted this information the wrong section but this is kinda Q&A
I need help Devs or anyone with a strong knowledge in building roms. Now I'm gonna be very clear I'm more then likely 75% noob when it comes to building roms but I am learning thru trial and error. And every First time dev has a learning curve.
What this thread for I built my first custom ROM and i need some feedback in regards to what the heck im doing wrong.I started using the android kitchen is xda INSTALL Cygwin was fine and all first time preps and tools I believe is all set.
v1
Now so far I have built a rom 3 different versions V1 install was fine all packages came up on got some FCs and freezing and root wouldnt allow access even though SU was present. but the phone was completely functional aside of that.
V2
This time I went in and made mods the android kitchen completely normal su, busy box, all the same however this time I made changes However i did make some BP mods(build prop) and almost every ROM in xda has such as speed tweaks response etc. This time I added a custom boot animation and audio.I also Added a few apks to data/app. This time after flash was done in got the custom boot logo and custom boot audio however I was stuck for 30 min at custom boot. So reset re flash cache fact reset system data cache format with dalvik still nogo.(in other words still a Nogo)
v3
Now this scenario android Kitchen had everything installed except for wipe ROm, Now this time i added the same apks a new custom boot animation/audio But this time i cut down on a few of the build Prop tweaks. and made a few change on the sounds folder and notification/alarms etc. Now i went back into cwm flash as normal- format system, data, cache wipe Fact Reset cache and dalvik again. install was completely fine. went in t reboot device I got the Boot animation/Sound took about 5 minutes then i got the soft keys now me thinking it was gonna go to the main screen it didnt it stayed at the boot animation for another 30min did a Battery reset. soon after comes a flicker onthe screen and then a paper weight phone... it wont boot light up i get nothin. now when i plug it in to get something thru PC I only get "qhsusb_dload" which i know means DEAD/ASTA LA BEASTA/Corpse. i know it requires Jtag to fix im cool with that.
what im trying to accomplish here is some good feedback to anyone who willing to help me learn from my mistakes or can atleast point me in a good directionand places to read etc.
I have channel logs of what mods i made to BP and i have actuall builds of this rom i tried to make. if there is anyone at willing to attempt to atleast have a look at the rom build NOT FLASH cuz i would hate for you to break your phone but atleast Look at what i change and see if there is something i shouldnt of done i would really appreciate it.
If you would like to look at the build and give me some constructive feedback please PM so far i have exhausted all my sources i would really like some feedback.
I WARN YOU DO NOT FLASH THESE ROM FILES DONT BREAK YOUR PHONE I WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE IF YOU DO THIS
You guys can flame me all you want i just want to do more then just use your files i want to contribute
Thank you for all those who want to help
First this isn't bad
Second tell us what you did as far as to the Rom use details I don't wanna dig through your zip until I know what you have tried
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2
Also, I don't think the kitchen is compatible with ICS/JB. Works great with the gingerbread. I'm not sure what you did, usually hard bricks on this device are kernel related. Oh and ditch the kitchen k:thumbup:
