The international edition is a quad core phone (different forum for that). The North American variant is the HTC One XL, which uses a dual core processor that has LTE built into its SoC.

The One X (XL) has two incarnations. The AT&T version, which has a dual-core CPU, and the international XL variant, which has a 4+1 Quad-Core, with the +1 (5th core) dedicated to apps. AT&T had to use a dual-core CPU, because the current quad-core technology is not LTE compatible ATM.
The AT&T version does nit lack performance in the least, and is plenty fast. I managed to score 4,958 on Quadrant, which is faster than every previous phone I've owned, and I've had the SGSII, Amaze, Vivid, Galaxy Note, etc. The One X is the best phone I've owned so far. HTC spared no expense building this device. They used top notch hardware throughout, including the Super IPS LCD2 Display, which is absolutely gorgeous.

Yeah personally I don't mind the physical button and I actually like the way the s3 looks, and honestly HTC one XL screen size is 4.7 the s3 screen size is 4.8 I care more about performance

Yeah that's why I'm leaning towards the s3, the HTC one XL doesn't have expandable storage 16gb isn't enough for me and I'm not willing to pay extra for the 32gb version

It's tough to say which is better but as a One X user I can say for sure One X has a better screen. The Super LCD 2 screen on One X is actually an IPS one, just that IPS is a patented trademark. It's full RGB pixel arrangement, unlike the pentile on SGS3 which you can see fuzziness even at about 20cm despite the HD screen.
Also One X is very camera centric. Trust me it takes better photos than S3. Aperture, sensor and software implemention is to it's advantage.
Design wise I feel One X wins by a HUGE margin too, SGS3 is fugly compared to this beauty.
However to be fair, SGS3 wins in this two aspects.
One is battery life, but both phones require a daily charge anyway.
Two is the memory, as in flash storage. But since I'm using the 32GB version it doesn't affect me.
The 2GB RAM doesn't make much of a diff. Android is more than capable enough to run on 1GB. Has the international One X or SGS3 struggled with 1GB RAM?

They are both amazing. Deciding factor is if you need more than 16gb storage and/or a replaceable battery. If yes, sgs3, if no, hox. It's as simple as that.

Any ways for a android device 2gb of ram isn't really needed. Android OS implements ram much differently that many other devices. 512mbs would probably be enough. Go with the HTC One X. It has much better screen, design and the battery gets better after a few power cycles. The only downfall over the SIII is removable storage but if your like me I keep most of my files on a cloud service.

If camera is the hox main advantage then the s3 camera must be atrocious because the hox camera is plain awful. Color balance is way off kilter, and turning down saturation a bit helps but does not fix the problem and you might as well not bother with custom WB (daylight, shade, cloudy) because they all look the same and wrong to boot. I Basically the only hope for half decent pics on the hox is AWB with saturation at -1

1. stop thinking beats by dre produces the best sound just because ads say so (sony sound in xsmagical's special edition rom is a perfect example to prove you wrong)
2. Forget v6 supercharger that does nothing to speedup the phone
3. Juicedefender and any other memory killing apps are pure crap and do not help with battery life
4. Plssss stop it with antutu benchmarks or quadrant because they do not mean anything AT ALL! If somebody changes the setup of his htc inspire in order to get over 10000 on antutu, it does not mean his htc inspire is better than a htc one x or a gs3, you get it?

For me it's all about quality and battery life. I have the HTC one x and the att gs3 and for my personal needs and likes the HTC one x is better. Both are completely stock, HTC one x has a nicer screen, the pentile super amoled screen isn't great on the gs3. Battery life isn't even close ,the HTC wins here and that's with out juice defender or any other apps. I agree benchmark scores do not matter as the difference is unnoticed. Beats audio, I don't use it so I don't care. I do like the fm radio in my hox.Usually it's good not to feed the troll but here is something for you to chew on. This gs3 is going back in a few days.

Unless the One X+ has a snapdragon s4 pro, i doubt verizon will get it, tegra 3 and lte don't seem to work that well.

Well, apparently it will come in 2 versions. Tegra 3 and snapdragon. But that's only based on T-Mobile and att specs. Doubt it'll reach Verizon but I think it's worth the wait. Phone sounds sick on paper.

I touched the iphone 5 and got a boner. Lol jk. But i was actually considering it considering the resell value of iphones but do i really want to deal with those maps? And closed source? The world may never know.

If you're on ATT, the One X is still dual core.
That being said, I have had both. The One X is a great phone, amazing build quality. The SGSIII is a better phone with more features, but not quite as good of build quality. I use the s3.

Tegra3 is suck if you buy international version. Qualcomm S4 version for NA and Aus is better than this ****. You can google the reasons why and compare of 2 SOC.
S3 for the performance
1X for quality build
Ps: pentile amoled of s3 is crappy(real solution is less 30%), lcd2 is good for you if using outside, real color.

There's already a 31 page long thread comparing the 2 phones in General (on the first page if viewing on your computer). We don't need another thread discussing the same, that is all he is saying. Mods usually lock redundant threads, so I'm surprised they haven't locked this one already.

OK not gonna flame ya im just gonna tell ya the truth they are almost the same damn phone yeah 2 gigs of ram no sd blah blah go to the store FIDDLE with the phones you like sense or touchwiz more? there is your answer. and sweet note 2 whoever that was wish it was available when i got this phone woulda been all over that, if i was looking for a new i would wait and see all these quad core devices all manufacturers are making one the lg looks real nice hardware wise but i dunno about therm as a cell company tv sure.
