You can use mx player to play pretty much anything and if you have a problem connecting it to your media server then use es file explorer to connect then choose mx to play it.

I've a hard drive with hundreds of movies on it. Is there an app that'll automatically catalog them and pull up the plot and cast based on the file name? I don't want to have to manually input them.
Just a thought
Don't know if this apps have the exact function you looking for.
I use Mvideoplayer HD for my video.. It sorts TV series and movies automatically and get info and cover.
If you don't want to play the video with the applications player you go to Options - Open with.

Really good app
Thanks for the great suggestions! MovieBrowser HD for Tablets ended up doing exactly what I needed. I think I'm going to try the other ones just to see the functionality... Who knows, I may like the feel of one of the other ones more, but MovieBrowser is great!

An Android Apps for both cellphone and tablet will be available to download from google play soon, thanks for paying attention. !
I don't think so cuz downloading videos from YouTube is under copyrights now if not creative common :x still nice shsre
Sent from my HTC Incredible S
This brings huge copyright issues and in doing so breaks XDA rules and it will not be allowed on the play store.
Hey, while I listened to some music today I noticed the chromecast icon in near the search button. Clicking it brought up a menu showing my dlna enabled sound system. Since i was in a hurry I wasn't able to test if it works. Now the icon dissapeared and i already tried everything to get it back. Already searched but didn't find anything about this being a feature.. Anyone else noticed that? Would love that feature since its something like airplay then.

I have a playlist of music that is downloaded to my devices, and also have music on my SD card. When I go to My Music however, my download playlist is greyed out, only allowing me to play my local music:

Is there a way to fix this? It's dumb that I can't have a playlist of both...

Are you using a cloud based playlist? I.E. Google Play Music? If so, it's because your internet connection on your phone isn't connected to a fast mobile network/WiFi. It may require being on WiFi and you have to upload all those songs to the cloud service.
Which would make sense. Except I am downloading those playlists to my phone.
I really don't have any suspicious app which might trigger this to appear, if you have ever encountered this image then please let me know which app is the culprit. Please check the image.
Thank you

I believe it was UC browser, I have uninstalled it and since then I never got that ****ty lock screen.
That was the only app which I have installed recently and usually I don't use UC browser.
