[Q] Changing Default Vibration Pattern - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

Hi all. Got a question for the group that doesn't seem to have been answered around here before (unless my search engine missed it).
Without adding an application, is it possible to change the default vibration pattern on incoming calls? I have figured out how to do it on sms notifications, but there does not seem to be a mechanism for changing the vibration pattern for incoming calls. I don't mind editing a file or three, but I need some general directions of where that sort of information is stored.
Thanks of the help.

Nope

Here's what I found. http://www.cerbroid.com/index.htm
Yes it's possible. App like this, or dissect it to find what it alters or how it commands maybe.

[REQ] "Vibetonez" Ringtones???

So Im not sure where this would actually fit in on here but Im looking for something close to a Vibetonez kinda program, for WinMo 6.1. For those of you that dont know Vibetonez were ringtones that when a bass note would hit, or a certain rhythme would go, it would vibrate along with the ringtone music, I was just wondering if someone knew of an alternative or even how you would go about doing something like that, again I appologize if this has been brought up before or If Im putting this in the wrong category, just interested in something like this.
bump..
that would be a nice app..
Try VAlert...
with this u can compose your own vibrate sequence...

I've actually been looking for the same thing (I think), and VAlert didn't provide it:
VAlert lets you set a custom vibration pattern, but as far as I can tell, only one single pattern.
It would be nice if there was a program that let you set multiple different custom vibration patterns for different callers. That way you could 'feel' who was calling, and decide if the call was important or not without having the ringer on.
is there anything that provides that ability?

I was looking for something more like this, or something that responds to the ringtone. not just a set vibrate pattern
Yeah I was thinking more so responding to the actual ringtone, VAlert is nice but it would be nice if you could set multiples ones though, for instance a different vibration for SMS, MMS, Email, Appointment, Voicemail, Ecetera. It would be nice if you could figure out what frequency of music the program would pick up, and vibrate to that frequency, although to me that seems rather demanding on that scale.

vibration duration?

I'm Running NATF v4.7 on my fuze and everything works great nice and speedy. The only question I have and this really isn't ROM specific I don't think, is there a way to change the duration of the vibrate when you get a new sms? I keep my phone on vibrate most of the day on my desk and the way it is now it's about a 8 second vibrate and its more of a ringtone then a quick alert.
~Thanks
have you looked into the sms notification in sounds and notifications in settings
to see what you can do with the settings there?
I have , all you can do from there is turn vibration on and off but not change how long it will vibrate.
I was also wondering the same thing. I just got my fuze the other day and first thing i did was flash NATF's 4.7 so i thought it was the device.. Do other roms not vibrate as long for a sms?
Also there are registry keys to edit the script of rings and alarms etc.. if we can find the one for sms we can tell if its fixable or not.
theres actually an app for this....its called VA alert and you can find it on blownfuze.org
Thanks for recommending that site, got some interesting apps on it. BUT VAlert (i think thats what you were referring to) only edits the ringtone script.

For incoming calls you definitely want VAlert1.21 (updated) by this guy which will let you customize down to the millisecond the pulsing patterns of the vibrator so that it gets your attention better than it otherwise would. I don't know if there's a similar thing for text and email but get this and subscribe to the thread for updates.

I searched through the registry and could not find a script for text messages.
Anyone that has used NATF's 4.7 rom and another rom, is the text vibrate duration the same, or shorter on other roms?

I've used about ∞ roms and so far with all of them they all have a long vibration for if you have the phone on any setting above just vibrate, and then have a three pulse vibration for if you have the phone set on just vibrate. I've also wanted to change this too a different setting, but unfortunately the closest thing thats ever came up is VAlert, and that doesnt deal with SMS . I've also looked in the registry, but I couldn't find anything
if you go to [HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\Ringtone0\] You have the String Value "Script" By default it is av0pw3r [a=activate, v=vibrate, 0, p=play, w=wait, 3 seconds, r=repeat]
So this tells the device when you get a call it should activate the device, vibrate 0 (continuoulsy, if it was 1, it would only vibrate for a second) play the ringtone, wait 3 seconds, then repeat.
I'm pretty sure VAlert is just so you don't have to edit the registry manually.
NOW to our situation, since "Ringtone0" is for incoming call ringtone, maybe we can manually add a new key that refers to the new message sound and manually add a script and see if that works? ANyone have any ideas what the device refers to for new messages?

Ringtone1? Ringtone2? Maybe the numbers are used to designate different types of incoming data

Incoming call screen

Hi there,
My senses tell me this is a very stupid question, but by using the search function I couldn't find the right threads regarding to it..
Are there any apps/mods that tweak your incoming call screen? I liked the screen in S2U2, but I'm using TLP now and so I must look at the boring, default winmo popup screen, telling me I'm recieving an incoming call..
Can someone tell me more?
thnx in advance!
kick*
nobody?
It is actually a bump rather than kick
As far as your question, what device do you have? You can simply get a different dialer, which would replace the incoming call notifications (minimal dialer, PhoneCanvas, Phonex (paid app), among a few others)
BTW, what is TLP?

Looking for an app that silences incoming phone calls from a specific contact

Hello, everybody.
I'm looking for an app that'll allow me to select specific contact(s) from which I won't get phone calls. Basically, a selective do not disturb mode, without them knowing I blocked them.
Any ideas?
It depends on your device. I have a Google Pixel 5, and I can either block contacts or route them straight to voicemail. If you're using the Google Phone app, it should do the same.

There are call blocker apps in the Playstore that don't actually block the number but prevent it from ringing or prevents SMS notifications but still shows the call as a missed call. I don't know of any by name though.

This is exactly what I'm looking for.
I've tested a couple of apps, but they all seem to reject the call, instead of silencing it. I haven't seen any where you can explicitly state that you want to mute the call and hide the call screen altogether.

I can't remember any by name that I've used that do this the way you want, I just remember using an app that did. It/they may not exist anymore.

Question Change vibrate to ring for specific contact?

Hey guys, I have a question.
If my phone is on vibrate mode, there is a way that I can change that if some specific contact is calling me, it will ring with sound? If there is a, way, can you tell me how to do it please?

you might try a workaround for this, it cold be done by asigning a null ringtone for the desired contact and, using macrodroid or some other app of the same kind, you can use a macro or "activity" with a vibration action when receiving a call from a particular contact
Check modes and routines.
Add, if phone is on vibrate, if I receive a call from (chose your desired contact), then add what you want.
