Hi guys,
My eMMC chip needs to be replaced after I bricked the phone
The service recommends me to change the entire main board (145 Eur) because:
- HTC does not allow authorized services to replace this part.
- They say that it is not safe (only for HTC not other manufacturers)
- They refuse to make this operation and I should go somewhere else if I insist to replace just the chip.
What should I do ? Pay 145 Eur for the entire mainboard or search a service that agrees to replace the chip ?
Since I know that this is a common problem, has any of you replaced just the sim and all was fine after that ?
thanks in advance !
145 is way too much. I'm sure you could find someone local who does it cheaper. In fact, one user managed to successfully replace it himself. Although I wouldn't try that unless you know what you're doing

 Tis a great deal. Buy the main board before christmas and you get a free housing/screen/battery/cradle and i think there is even a set of headphones thrown in!!!!!!!!
i took my jaq 3 to united mobile. thay said that its ram is not working and the ram is nonreplaceable, so u have to replace its board. and the board costs 20,000 rupees thats almost 335 us dollars. thats unfair. can my ram b corrept and unusable only by installing an application? somebody plzz answer and help me.
Hah !
United Mobiles,Mobile Zone,Chimera, infact, all agents selling devices here in Pakistan are thieves, blackmailers, cheaters and looters.Don't go to them, rather I'll suggest you to visit Hafeez Centre,if you are in Lahore. They'll have a much better option for you.
Which application did you install, after which it started giving problem ? Well, personally I don't think that by just installing any application 'Ram' of the device will go corrupt.Ram is the memory of the phone,we all keep on installing many different applications often, but never seen that it goes corrupt.Even flash different Roms,if a Rom flash goes bad or a wrong Rom is flashed,we can always reflash another Rom to get back the phone in working status,BUT RAM,never,They are just making a false story to extort money from you.Yes ! RAM itself can fake out,or phone do get dead due to some Hardware failure, thats different.
But for a price of Rs.20,000 just to replace the main board, than I'll suggest you just keep it like this and may someday you get a better chance to get it repaired,or sell it at the best offer you can grab and buy another,I have seen a couple of Jag3 Pda's at Hafeez Centre for less than 20,000 although, slightly used, but still you wud be better off ,or buy a wizard,I-mate k-jam,T-mobile or O2 for much lesser price.
Cheers

Hi,
Is there by any chance a possibility of replacing wifi/BT chip on desire s? Extracting it from old desire s mobo? A tech is offering to fix the chip by heating it or replace if he cant fix it. I'm just not sure if its possible.
Does anyone knows?
Thanks,
does that work?
i know i will loose the 3g functionality, but better a working t tablet , then a bricked tg.
thanks
If they have the same form factor, you should be able to. I haven't tested it though.

thanks for your answer !
and has it the same form factor ?
maybe someone know it ?
i also sent my tablet to RMA from Asus , but they made me an offer for 540 Swiss Franc to replace the Motherboard ( app. 600 dollar ).
Sorry it took me so long to reply. I can't find an image of a TF300TG motherboard, but since it's bricked anyway, I suggest you buy one, see if it fits, and if not, return it.
