HTC Sensation XE - is Windows 7.5 ROM/port available? - HTC Sensation

Hi All,
Was just wondering whether there was a Windows 7.5 (Mango) ROM available for Sensation/XE.
Just curious to know how that looks/works on XE.

Zer0

As Windows Mobile is not 'open source' (available for free and allowed to be modified) it would be illegal to put a copy on our sensations, xda allows putting newer copies of Windows Mobile on phones with Windows Mobile as standard OS as the license has technically already been paid.
Also recoding all hardware drivers to work on windows mobile would be a pain in the ass.
Download and flash a MIUI rom then get a WM7.5 theme and flash, its the closest you will legally get

You can try launcher 7 too

No, and never'll be - but there is a launcher which looks like Metro UI

This.
Get a HD2 if you want Android and WP7.

you can try some launcher, like 7 or Metro UI.
if you don't like these, you can try a MIUI rom in android developers section.

Hi All,
Thanks for the replies. Was just curious. Didn't know all these details on Windows OS. Just wanted to give a try to 7.5.
My question has been answered.
Regards,

WM 7.5 doesn't support dual-core so even if it was not a problem of license it could never work on a sensation.

WP7 is radically different to WM6.5. For most this is a good thing, however I actually wasn't a fan due to it having nowhere the the customisation of WM6.5. If you just need a smartphone that does everything and doesn't let you tinker with a whole lot but looks good, try WP7. If you like lots of options and playing around with everything, go with Android.
The HD7 is nice, but you have have your cake and eat it too if you get a HD2. The HD2 runs WM6.5 natively, but WP7 has been ported to it, as has Android. So you really don't have to choose if you don't want to. That said, the DHD is a nice handset.
Good luck, and welcome to XDA
Id buy a lg optimus 2x because of its specs compared to these phones

The HD7 is limited to WP7 only. To switch to Android, you'd need to buy a HD2. It's an older design, but based on exactly the same hardware as the HD7. The HD2 can run WM6.5, WP7, Android, Ubuntu and even MeeGo. In terms of flexibility, the HD2 is unbeatable thanks to a lot of dev support. There are versions available that will work on any 3G network worldwide.
so last question plz
if i will get the desireHD do u think that it is better then HD7???

On the DHD, you will have access to the entire Android market. So yes, there are lots of free apps and games.
You will not be able to install WP7 on the DHD. If WP7 is necessary for you, go for a HTC HD2.
thank ou for your help

I want to switch from WP7 to Android
So do it, sell your phone and buy a new one, what´s the problem? You need XDA to announce this or what?
I think there are various topics about flashing Android to various devices, including HD2.

Thank God, who wants Android on a Windows Phone Device anyway. I guess if you want it to run sluggish and drain your battery in less than two hours then why not.
Well, today I received the newsletter from a prestigious portuguese store (fnac.pt for the portuguese guys in here) and they have a new product, one I bet you've never heard of:

[Q] Huawei Ascend G300 and Windows Phone

Hi to all,
several months I did not look for anything on the xda-developers because I bought new Windows Phone 7 device (HTC 7 Trophy) and it still works very good. Xda-developers web was very helpful for me when I owned old HP Ipaq 614c and here was many of great ROMs for that device. So now I have this question:
What is happend with xda-developers.com? I can not find nothing here. I do not understand the new phone operating systems and the way how to "hack" them. But now I am looking for the appropriate ROM for my device and nothing was found I bought new Huawei Ascend G300 and I want to replace Android on it with Windows Phone operating system. Is there any way how to get Windows Phone working on that device? I found only some youtube video where somebody has Ascend G300 with WP8.
GeogrX
PS: I hope you understand me even though my english is not very good
Sadly there isn't any real wp8 available for any android phone. The YouTube ones may be using themes. You can download launcher 8 from playstore to feel wp8 on android

**** the any louncher. I think that I should to work with android until my Windows Phone will be back from authorized service. I broked the display on it. But I have to say that Microsoft build very good system. More better than android. Stability and working with WP is more simple than with android. In compare with Windows mobile 6.x it differ in that we can not try various custom rom as easy like on older phones. Only HTC HD2 looks like universal device which can work under MS systems and android. Thats bad...

is it even possible? LOL
I believe so. Requires lot of work and skill. Remembered back an 1st gen. IPhone Running Android, so little is impossible.

mhh would be cool to try android on a wp8.

Windows is closed source if there is a port there will be lots of bugs so it's impossible

I think you can put Android on this phone because the Huawei Ascend W1 has a similar specs as the Sony Xperia L.
Chipset Qualcomm MSM8230 Snapdragon
GPU Adreno 305
A-GPS
There will be some risk that not everything will be 100% compatible as there may be some differences in the other hardware components, such as the SDcard reader, wi-fi, USB, etc. So, it will be prudent to do some research before deciding whether or not you want to flash the Android ROM. There is a Sony Xperil L forum here on XDA:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-l
You may want to find out more before you embark on this project.
Good luck in your venture.
