Android ICS for Galaxy Y!

Hi Everyone,
I would like to know whether Galaxy y s5360 can be updated with ICS v4+, i have read some articles in this forum and can someone help me out with this many andorid phones supports ICS and Y Should also.. So Kindly help me in this. Need all developers to think of this ,

I don't think that would be possible, given its specs and even if it were so, it would lag a lot.

Anyone will come up with it, i saw minimum requirement for ics is 256mb ram btw galaxy y comes with 290mb ram, so it must be available

It's so easy for you to say.
Why not develop one yourself?

btw ics also needs armv7 while galaxy y is armv6

here is the reason why galaxy y cannot run android 4
It may meet minimum requirements like processor and ram.but did you notice that android 4 requires atleast a decent gpu. The gpu in galaxy y has a poor performance . Even for playing games like nfs shift you need to have chainfire 3d on it. But you cant run android with chainfire3d.btw the gpu manufacture is ot willing to update android 4 drivers for the gpu and hence not possible.
IT TOOK LONG TIME FOR ME TO FIND THE RIGHT REASON . SO PLZ DONT IGNORE TO CLICK ON THE THANKS METER

You can still experience ICS on Galaxy Y

Hi Satish,
If you are referring to ICS per se on Galaxy Y, it's probably not possible. But we have a custom ROM called JELLYBLAST by AvijitGhosh82 here on XDA, it's a custom rom which for Galaxy Y which makes you experience ICS/JB on your Galaxy Y.

Guys I have a great problem, I've bought this (VODAFONE SMART TAB 10 aka ZTE V11A) tablet and, reading guides and/or discussion, I'm not sure to make good things upgrading to jelly bean...
Sorry if I look a n00b with this Question... but due to work and waiting for a baby ... I have a little little time!
I've tried to follow several guides in several forums. This one looks to be the better. But I had not understood something...
1) From were I have to begin? it's a BNIB device. No Root, no mods yet.
2) What rom, I have to use with no problems?
3) I've read something, but there is a CAMERA NOT WORKING... yet the same problem??

i'm a new user to the xda site as i were an old fashion mobile user till lately my brother in law bought a new xperia z1 ultra -my recommend- for himself and gave me his old galaxy y duos .
i'm trying to boost up as much as i could of it to use but i'm just a beginner in this field so any help would be appreciated .

In your case, I think you should spend some time browsing the different sections for your device and read up on what others do with it. And check the development section for roms and all that fun stuff. So instead of a specific section or thread, since you seem to want to learn and do much with it.... Yes, the section says s5360...but it's for yours as well. Just be sure to only flash things made specifically for your model. Also good to mention your model when posting anything. ?

I just share my knowledge, and i hope it will be help you
Samsung Galaxy V is has a same ROM's with Samsung Galaxy Ace NXT. that is SM-G313HZ.
And Samsung Galaxy Ace NXT succesfully root with Tower Root, and Root Genius.
So, why you can try that method to root your Samsung Galaxy V.
Maybe its will be work for your Samsung Galaxy V.

I was thinking, maybe you can ask Chainfire to have CF-Root to work on our device? I don't know when I'll be online again. So maybe you can ask him.

Hello there,
I have galaxy ace nxt with sm-g313hz model number.
I am a bit confused about the version here with galaxy V and galaxy ace nxt.
Was trying to get hold of a custom rom (based on cm mostly).
But after a pretty bit of research couldnt find any custom rom for my device.
Can anyone please spread some light on the topic.
(One xda senior member suggested me to this page, so posted here.)

Galaxy ACE nxt is SM-G313H and Galaxy V is SM-G313HZ. that's the problem. you install a custom rom that is not for your device.

I have the same phone but I have black and white Emoji. Isnt it supposed to be colored? I've uninstalled hangouts since my phone is rooted. Is that related why my phone doesnt have colored emoji? Help me please. Thank you!

I am currently trying to CM11 , tratandod to solve some bugs , maybe then try CM12 the problem is that my computer does not have enough features to compile CM12 , I have good processor 9.9Ghz AMD 500GB HDD , but memory is very short , I have only 2GB and 4GB normally required or higher.
