It seems that HTC can't get their hands on enough S4 processors, so they're shipping the HTC One S to "select markets" built with the S3 clocked at 1.7GHz. Any hope that this will solve some of the bugs with the current batch of Sense 4 ROMs for the Sensation?

The RUU for this phone is what all the Sense 4.0 ROMs are based off of.
Right, he's asking if the new RUU that will come out with this phone supporting the S3 processor will make any of our bugs on those roms a little easier to deal with/fix.
This is gonna be a mess for HTC, there will be a performance diff between the two, regardless of the processor over clock to 1.7ghz... People who end up with the S3 processor and know the diff between that and the S4 are gonna throw tizzy fits.
So do u mean we can use the one s Rom instead of the Ville c rom???

This means there is a possibility that the One S based roms will run better.

I found this today,
It seems like chinese have made it again. I am not sure if this is s4 port to s3 or an official Ville C2 update, but it contains new sense and android 4.0.4, unlike latest currently available C2 rom which has older 4.0.3 (any sense 4 rom on sensation is based on it). this update has been a huge improvement on both One S and One X, and I am sure performance increase will translate to ports too.
please, have a look HERE, and anyone with knowledge is very welcome to port it to our beloved sensation :laugh:

One S does not have Sense 4.1. OP - that is an S4 ROM. Only the S4 had 4.0.4.

I think this version is for S4 only, not for S3.
Maybe we need to wait for a while till HTC release an offical update for S3 devices.

It is for the S3 but it isnt android 4.0.4 - the chinees just changed it in build.prop to trick people

Because HTC haven't released a JB ROM for Sensation and we have not been able to port any from other phones.

I don't get what you are trying to say... There are no JellyBean ROM's with Sense for HTC Sensation or its XE and 4G variants.

and other roms are aosp/aokp(cm,jb roms)

If I guess correctly, the answer to your weirdly phrased question is the HTC One S. All the Sense 4 ROMs available now are ported from the HTC One S, since it is quite similar in terms of specs to our Sensation (HTC even used the same SoCs Snapdragon S3 for some One S devices due to shortage of the S4.
HTC just uploaded the Ville_C2 jelly bean kernel sources. For those that don't already know it is the One S with the sensations processor in it, the msm8x60.

I'm pretty sure that even with the same processor, kernel source for another device is quite useless to us.
If I'm wrong someone with kernel dev'ing experience please tell me so!
EDIT: Even if I am wrong, my nexus 7 is only at 3.1.10, officially and on every custom kernel. I find it hard to believe 3.4.10 could get ported to the sensation without a very, very substantial amount of work and hackery.

Porting 3.4.10 code for the VilleC2 to the Sensation is very possible. The only reason why it's possible is because the Sensation and the VilleC2 have the same chipset. I've even built a kernel for the Sensation using VilleC2 source and it booted.

This definitely has ion. The 4.0.4 sources for the villec2 had it aswell. Also as a bonus this kernel may score us powered OTG. The stuff has always been there but was dissabled in the source due to hardware concerns. It doesn't require the charging chip we discussed in the otg thread. The 8660 has the ability on chip.

Yh the One S has sense 5, its called TrickDroid by @torxx
@doga.ozkaraca is working on it for One V. If he gets it for One V the chances for Desire S getting it are high (Seeing as One V and Desire S are very similar)
If anyone starts working on a kernel that would be great!!that is the biggest leap we have to take!!

Yes Me And @XxXPachaXxX and @E.l.I.e_A Managed to boot and to make it working as you can see in this post now about the build we are making it strictly closed source and we are not publishing anything before we get it legal and ligit.
Now about other devices Like for the HTC One V He will be getting it to becaue when you can make ion here work you now the right method to make it work else where .
So The Devices Will Follow Like This.
HTC Desire HD First TO Get JB
HTC Incredible S Second to get JB
HTC Sensation XL Third To Get JB
HTC Desire C Fourth To Get JB
HTC One V Fifth To Get JB
And almost all 480 x 800 will get as we will have a publish date for all and then we are making it open source{By That i mean stock JB Booted ROM For ROm Devs}

Strange not to see our device, but I think, if one of these devices gets the ROM, then we'll see ports to our device by our device's devs, which would be awesome! I really hope to see it soon.
if they make it for DHD it can be ported to DS easily I think as DHD has the same hardware as DS
As the title states, I would love to see a sense 5 ROM ported from one of the newer Desire series (300,600,700 etc) to our ageing Desire S.
a willing tester here if anyone is up for it.
I can see there is one for the Desire HD which is essentially the same spec as our device.

I really want to do some porting for the Desire S, but I don't have one. I already ported Carbon 4.3, but I had to end that project because of the lack of a testing device. If anyone has a Desire S they don't want anymore and they are willing to donate it to me, you can expect a lot of Desire HD roms to come to the Desire S.

Porting sense 5, there is one major problem and thats why id say no one has already tried, sense 5 is jellybean so we would need a new kernel to support sense and jb, im not sure exactly but the main issue would be the kernel and i think @kylon (kernel dev) doesnt have a desire s anymore either and he was prob our best bet for the kernel.

yh would be good coz theres not really much happening on the ds recently, most devs have moved on
Why don't you look out for a damaged one and get the parts from parts4repair.com ?
I find the DS one of best repairable devices I know so far.
All you need is a T5 and a PH00 Screwdriver and a guitar pick for some things
If you need some internal repair documents, I can provide you with some.

He hasn't mentioned porting it to the desire s, and seeing as we don't have a kernel capable of running jb+sense, I think it's highly unlikely that it ever will get ported.
