Rooting means I presume you want to install custom roms..
Then with htcdev unlocked bootloader (little bit chance of voiding warranty)
You can flash custom roms.. check the guide named "flashing ROMs with SON" by asskickar in sensation general section
You can avoid htcdev unlock.. But can soff.. To do that.. Chk the guide link in my signature."JuopunutBear soff without out htcdev one" . It also has one click root tool(it got some prerequisites though)
If you are getting confuse with the terms . then click on the link "how to be a new user not a noob" present in my signature too and read it to letter

Hi, since there is no forum for the Sensation XE, I decided to ask here. Is the Sensation XE 100% compatible with all roms, root & S-off methods for the original Sensation (EU)?
I was searching for a temp root thread for the Sensation XE, but I failed to find one. Perm root is good as well, as long as there is an unroot guide along with it.
Any help?

Hi,
Because they are essentially the same phone,whatever works for one,will work for the other.
So,s-off,ROMS,kernels,radios and mods all work for both phones.
There is ,therefore,no need for a separate forum.
Hello, I was wondering if someone on here could give me some advice, I have a couple of simple questions which hopefully have simple answers!
I have a Sensation XE Z715e, which I want to gain perm root too, however I've been looking around and found a muddle of answers, most of which don't contain a straight forward answer, my question is, is it possible, and what is the best way to do it? ( I told you it was simple )
Model/Software etc.. as follows;
HTC Sensation XE Z715e
Gingerbread 2.3.4
Sense 3.0
Software 1.73.401.4
HBOOT 1.18.0000
If possible, I want to avod using HTCDev to unlock my bootloader, because if need be I can't revert to normal.
I've also seen about having to downgrade software, and read that Revolutionary doesn't work, although perhaps an older version of Revolutionary does work with the phone?
Any help/opinions/ideas would be appreciated!

Of course it'll work, HBOOT 1.18.0000 is fully supported by Revolutionary and has been for months
Just download your RUU from the Shipped ROMs thread as a backup

Did mine , XE UK on O2 .. well it was . It may have been that Revolution didn't support HBOOT 1.18. at one time . It does now though

i bought my sensation xe with sense 3.5, s-on with older hboot. I waited for the HTC ICS on ota. I´ve downloaded and installed it. now my bootloader is also s-on and i have all the boring stock apps on my device. I like to use a custom rom like hyper non sense.
how can i flash it?

There is no possibility to unlock HBOOT 1.27.0000

befor i downloaded the update via ota, i was still s-on.. the other postssss wrote that their where s-off before updated via ota..
im a little bit scared.. my first android phone was an desire s.. and with rev. it was more than simple to get s-off and root.
now i bougth this cool sensation xe ( i like red!) and it was expensive.. i dont wanne brick it.. u understand? so are u really sure that i can download the

Will not go. You must wait until it can be unlocked hboot 1.27.0000
There are quite a few beta test for the new HBOOT.
better to wait before acting broken cell phone
