CleanRom 2.6 SE is pretty close, and better performance too.

I really like CleanRom 2.6 so far. Better than ATT stock after a couple days usage for now.

And cleanrom is only bound to get better a birdy told me.

Yup, CleanRom 2.6 SE is the way to go.

Thank you guys for the recommendation. I cannot upgrade to 1.85 because I'm root and every time the update try to install I get the RED triangle. I unrooted with otakeeper tried a couple of times and nothing... So I'm looking for the closest stock experience.

I ruu'd back n forth between 1.73, 1.82 and1.85 without a problem several times. . Do you have supercid? Confirm w. "fastboot OEM readcid" and if so then just relock the bootloader, "fastboot OEM lock" keep your htcdev token u used before, run the ruu, when finished unlock bootloader again "fastboot flash unlocktoken unlock_code.bin". Flash your recovery then flash any available rims and you'll reboot rooted and ready. It should be full proof, if there's an issue pm me and I'll upload my 1.82 and 1.85 ruu's that I've used to jump back n forth to my dropbox for u. The ruu won't work if u don't relock your bootloader or if you changed your cid to ROGER_001 instead of 11111111 when you originally unlocked your bootloader.

I just root my phone with one click nothing else. I download the 1.85 update OTA. I'm avoiding the others method because I don't want to delete my data ect... I just wanted to upgrade on top of the Stock ROM. I think I'm out of luck... I came from the Captivate and I know the whole process. Thank you!

I'm sorry, I don't mean to question or assume anybody's knowledge, I just try to be thorough as I can when I'm trying to help. Hope I wasn't offensive.

Another vote for CleanROM SE. Its mostly stock, but with some mods (most of which are improvements over stock IMO). Although some things I consider HTC stock are removed (in particular, the Stocks app/widget).
You can also flash the following, which is just the stock 1.85 but deodexed:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1674080
But be aware this one WILL wipe data. But you should wipe data anyway, when flashing a custom ROM. Keeping data can lead to unpredictable bugs.
For either of the above, you will need to SuperCID, unlock bootloader, and install CWM in order to install.

+1 for CleanROM 2.6 SE
Very fast and smooth ROM.. better than stock

Unroot HTC One S, just to be sure

Hello,
i have to unroot my girlfriends htc one s, because we need the warrenty of the divice.
at the moment there is the newest trick droid installed.
so how to get back to stock? ive done this on my one x before so i know i have to:
install stock recovery
relock bootloader
run ruu
BUT
i had huge problems finding the right ruu for the stock recovery flashed.
could i flash the stock recovery from PaulOBrien thread and then flash he UK vodafone ruu? or will be some mismatch like on my one x ? i would need the vodafone uk ruu, because it was a vodafone device.
is it a MUST that the recovery version matches thes ruu version? at my one x it kind of happend. is there any chance to see what version the stock recovery of PaulOBrien have?
greetings and thanks alot
Go to super su ..... settings scroll to bottom and click full unroot

but this wont give me the stock rom, does it?
or could i run the RUU then?
Phone will still say relocked in bootloader no matter what you do I believe.
T-MobileUS HTC One S
thats ok relocked just mean it was unlocked, but nothing it was ever a custom rom on it
but i got the solution in another forum
just relock bootloader, enable usb debug und go to the ruu
greetings
I think it does go to stock rom

Stock T-Mobile rom

Does anyone know of a stable stock TMO US ROM without the T-Mobile apps?
For some reason I keep getting random reboots on CM10 and don't care for any of the other ROMs for the one S. Just gonna revert back to what the phone was built on.
I am pretty sure I have the One S from launch date, but how can I be certain which version of the One S I have?
Thanks
Sent from my HTC One S using xda premium
You can remove the T-Mobile apps with titanium backup. So if you made a nandroid just flash back to that and use tb to uninstall apps you don't like.
Your profile says you are in Dallas..I'm in Austin and I have the s4. I think that is/was the only version sold in the US

Just fine the RRU for your update to your phone it should be 2.35 RRU google it should be the first one ^_^..but if you updated from dec 10 and up you have to wait for the new RRU from Football
Or if you made a nandroid you don't have to run ruu which requires you relock bootloader...

Alright, well, I need help.
From my understanding of reading, i need to relock the bootloader, get into fastboot and run the exe.
Every time I run the exe the damn thing closes on me. Doesn't go into "not responding" or errors out or anything, just fracking closes.
Now that the bootloader is locked I can do anything with the phone lol.
Some of the posts I came across said that they found that if you don't have CWM as the recovery it fails, but other posts nixed that idea saying it doesn't matter. Is there any truth to that?
EDIT: the 2.35 RUU closes without warning the 1.53 RUU goes into not responding.
EDIT #2: Was able to unlock the bootloader again, flash the latest nightly and now im back on CM10 with a brandnew phone and factory reset to nothing. What do I need to do to be able to successfully run the 2.35 ruu...?
Are you running windows or linux on your pc..??

Windows.
I have the ability to do so in Linux as well if need be.
I can provide you the latest nandroid backup if you want restore it in twrp or cwm then get the boot.IMG from the ruu , open ruu , goto temp files, find the folder which contains the extracts of ruu and then open the Rom.zip in there , there you will find the boot.IMG , flash it in fastboot , flash stock recovery , relock bootloader. You're as good ruu , or if you want I can do the ruu manualy for you on teamviewer pm me !

I really need some help with HTC One XL

I bought this phone outright, and I don't like the Telstra network so I put an Optus SIM in. Which works just fine, however I now have an issue which may or may not be related. I have unlocked my bootloader, and have obtained root. I cannot get s-off however, tried all the methods in this forum. And when I try to install a new Rom, such as cm10 and all nightly versions, venom viper, and all other Roms I have tried I cannot get passed the start up logo (or I just get a pure black screen). Yes I have waited and waited for extended periods of time but it won't load. No I'm not new to rooted phones, and have followed all insructions properly. Pls help me, I really hate all the Telstra bloatware on my phone.

you have to fastboot flash the boot.img when you are s-on
Only problem is I used that stupid one xl one click toolbox for my root. Which has completely stuffed me up.I should have done it the hard way like I did with my incredible s. I just got lazy. Don't suppose you know how to get s-off, without the one click fixes. Unfortunately they arnt working on this phone to acheive s-off

Not necessarily. It depends on your hboot version I believe.
I've never had to flash the boot image and I haven't done s-off.
@OP - did you need to s-off for any specific reason? You don't need to do this to flash a custom ROM. It's not required unless you want to reove the tampered text from the boot loader.
It makes life easier to have s-off. Besides I have issues with not having full access to something I have bought outright....lol

I s-off'd my HOXL because it makes it much safer from my own boneheaded mistakes. If I had done something silly like flashing the OTA RUU then I wouldn't be completely screwed.

Are you S-OFF already?
Is this an AT&T one X? you would have had to supercid to root, if you RUU and you are not S-OFF you will brick.
To RUU, you'll need windows be it through a VM or another PC.
You can flash an OTA through stock recovery if you download the zip but if you're superCID that will also brick you.
I have S-on Relock hboot 1.09
I guess im gonna ask a friend to let me borough hes windows laptop i think thats the easiest way to go back

Ok Im wanting to install some 3.4 kernel roms but needing to update to to the latest hboot and fw I am S-off, Super CID and rooted can I just run the ruu as it is? with out fear of a hard brick? or will I have to revert anything back, Im running slimbean and on 1.14 hboot
If you are s-off you can just run the ruu, flash recovery through fastboot , and then flash a ROM.

Yea thats what I always thought, was just bein sarcastic.. So for the sake of the thread and the O.P. To retain root you would have to flash recovery after running the RUU correct? Because the gentleman that I was originally responding to stated that theres no need to flash recovery, that the RUU does this for us...
Yes you need to flash TWRP again after you run an RUU. The RUU only flashes the stock recovery.

Ya I used that one click tool for XL to get the recovery..now on to further questions instead of making a new thread i decided to reuse this one.. anyways after I got through all that i decided to go ahead and flash some custom roms and ended up with the same results when ever someone sends me pics or videos through text, they will download fine until i connect to a wifi, then i get an error saying "couldn't download now, please try again later. Even when I disconnect from the wifi i get the same error and sometimes will not even get data untill I wipe and re flash but everything works fine with the stock rom.. what could cause this i have tried messing with the data options in settings and nothing works. rom's I have used are
Root box
slim bean
xylon
all of them have acted that same and all use the 3.4 kernel. so I'm stuck on stock until i can figure out whats going on :crying: so any help is greatly appreciated :good:
I've never used WiFi with those ROMs so I'm not sure. But are you sure your apn settings are correct? Also, have you tried toggling airplane mode on and off after disconnecting from WiFi?

Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
Faults like this are usually caused by incorrect apn settings but I could be wrong.

Is this on AT&T or a different carrier?
Am I reading correctly, WiFi data works in general, mobile data works in general, just mms is not working?
Yes wifi data and mobile data work but mms won't download with either on custom roms only but will work fine on stock
