Just download TWRP and install it just like you installed CWM, flash it through fastboot that is. It will install right over CWM. TWRP should install anything that CWM will install, except for any backups you made with CWM. Definitely make a new backup right after you install TWRP. This is the first time I've had TWRP on any of my devices and it is definitely my favorite recovery.

Can't install ROM via TWRP

First, I have H-BOOT 1.09, and I am rooted, I have TWRP v3
Now, I had ViperROM 1.2.0 installed, and decided to install Trickdroid v7, and it failed. I thought it was weird, so I restarted the phone. It was just on the boot screen, and after rebooting into Recovery, I noticed that when I tried rebooting, it would say that no OS was installed.
I downloaded ViperROM 1.2.0 and checked the MD5 and it checked out. Thinking they might of fixed the Aroma full wipe, I ran it with a full wipe, and of course it didn't work. So, I rebooted into recovery, wiped Cache, Dalvik, Factory and System. Tried installing ViperROM again, this time with out the full wipe, it gets to 7% and then ask me to reboot. If I try rebooting, it tells me no OS is installed. Right now I am running CM10 but I don't want it. I want ViperROM.
I had this same issue before, but I was exactly sure what I did in order to get it to install. So now I am stumped, and I don't know how to use ADB.
If you use latest TWRP 2.3.x, it will not work. You need to go back to TWRP 2.2.2.0

I feel really stupid because I didn't check the last 30 pages of that topic, although it seems its because System is mounted, which I had absolutely no idea WTF that meant.
Does that mean that the latest TWRP is the reason why Trickdroid didn't install?
I could never get either to install using any version of TWRP and i'm on hboot 1.06. I always had to fastboot flash the boot.img first, clear caches. It's weird and no one involved could explain it...been flashing other ROMs fine via TWRP 2.3

If you download gooManager from Play. it will install the latest TWRP. If you need TWRP 2.2.2.0, you can find it in ToolKit Rooting. Inside the folder there' s a TWRP 2.2.2.0
Use that img and do a fastboot
fastboot flash recovery TWRP.img

Hope this help you.
Or you can try
older devices will probably encounter several zips that need to be updated. If needed, you can try using this update-binary that was compiled with current sources. It goes in your zip file in the META-INF/com/google/android folder.

Problems after 4.2.2 flash

Hi. I have flashed 4.2.2 update to my rooted Nexus 5 (stock kernel and ROM; CWM recovery). As expected, I lost root, so I copied the SuperSu zip onto the phone in order to re-flash it from CWM. However when I rebooted into recovery mode there was no CWM; I just got the dead android with the red triangle. So I flashed CWM recovery again from my PC, rebooted, flashed SuperSU. Play Store asked me to update it and I accepted, but doing that I lost root again. When I rebooted into recovery mode... CWM was gone again! Can you help me please? What am I doing wrong?
PS. I'm Italian, so sorry for my bad English
Ok if u did a back up to your previous rom, just restore to that, than update and from recovery just flash cache/dalvik and choose no to the last question that asks recovery if u choose yes u loose Super User.

I don't actually have a backup, what you said is exactly what I did. I answered "no" to the last question

Always, always do a back up before doing anything try installing goo manager from playstore and install recovery from that app, than download SU.zip and flash it after that.

[Q] TWRP can't mount dalvik & data

Hi,
My mom has an Asus TF300T running JB 4.2.1. She tried to root and flash OmniROM by herself and borked it somehow. Unfortunately, she didn't do any backup...
She entered the fastboot screen and there she selected wipe. Then she flashed openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.0-tf300tg-JB.blob using fastboot.
Now I am trying to help her rescue it.
It's operational, the OS loads up fine and she can use it, install apps etc.
I can get to the fastboot screen and from there to the TWRP no problem, but TWRP can't mount anything besides system.
No dalvik partition, no data partition, not even the SD or external SD.
Naturally, I can't flash another rom...
Tried executing "fix permissions" from the TWRP menu, it didn't help.
Downloaded the latest official Asus blob file TF300T-US_epad-10_6_1_27_5-UpdateLauncher.zip and flashed it using fastboot, hoping it will restore the missing partitions but it didn't make any difference.
Also tried CWM - same issue.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Sefi

You are flashing the wrong TWRP. Flash: openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.0-tf300tg-42.blob
Also If you are installing the KitKat OmniROM, you need TWRP 2.7+

Wow! I missed that completely!!
That actually sounds promising.
Yeah, I want to flash KitKat OmniROM, so does the TWRP2.7+ also have a 42 version like the 2.6.30 or just flash TWRP 2.7+ ?
Thanks for your reply!

Actually, looking in the TWRP site here: http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/tf300t, there is no 2.7 version..
So, I'm just making sure, I should flash openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.0-tf300t-4.2.blob and that should allow TWRP to mount the partitions, right?
What if I want to flash OmniROM KitKat (4.4)? Should I just flash 2.7 over openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.0-tf300t-4.2.blob?
Thanks,
Sefi

This guide has all the links, just flash omnirom instead of cm. There's only a 42 version, so make sure your bootloader is stock V10.6.1.27.1 or V10.6.1.27.5 or V10.6.1.15.3 . upgrade your bootloader if you are on V10.6.1.8.

Thanks man! it worked!!!
I had to flash openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.0-tf300t-4.2 and after it, upgrade to TWRP-TF300T-2_7_0_1 for complete SELinux support, only then could I flash omni-4.4.2-20140416-tf300t-NIGHTLY.
You rock!

Can't mount backup path in CWM Recovery

Hello,
Running the stock ROM on a rooted N5. Flashed latest CWM Touch Recovery (v6.0.4.5) via Flashify, but when I get into the recovery and try to make a nandroid, it tells me that it cannot mount to backup path or whatever. I've never had this issue before running CWMR on my Nexus 5.
Previously, tried flashing TWRP via Flashify and it said that internal strage was 0mb. Not sure why no recoveries are working properly on Lollipop...
Anyone know how to fix these issues on rooted N5 running 5.0?
Thanks.
Did you try flashing the factory image?

No that's going to be a last resort so I don't have to set my phone up and everything again.
I'm not sure what mounting a backup path even means really--do I have to do something else before I can backup a nandroid? I never had to do this before on KK and earlier versions of CWM recovery.

[Q] Install CM12S Update with TWRP recovery?

Hi
I'm a bit impatient to wait for the CM12S OTA update on my Oneplus One. I have stock CM11S ROM without root (since the last OTA update), but I sill have the TWRP recovery. I downloaded the update.zip for CM12S. Can I just "install" that .zip with TWRP recovery?

Thank you I tried that. But immediately after swiping to install the .zip in TWRP there is an Error saying that the file is made for device A0001, but my device is "bacon". I read somewhere that I would need to update TWRP to solve that problem?
And another question:
What will be deleted if I wipe dalvik, cache, & data? I suppose not the internal sd, but maybe some other data I don't want to lose?
Update twrp first then flash. You will not loose personal data when doing the wipe.
Sent from my A0001 using XDA Free mobile app

I think you are using the wrong version of TWRP.

Use the above link, download the latest version 2.8.6.0-bacon.img and flash it...
I was using cm11s, then i flashed the 12s signed zip using twrp, and i had the update cm recovery checked off, but for some reason now i lost twrp and only boots up the cyanogen recovery. Is it alright just to reflash twrp again? Also will flashing this ota cause my bootloader to relock?

It's normal for the stock recovery to be flashed during an OTA update. Yes you can flash it again. No it won't relock your bootloader.
