Read posts #1-3! It won't take long!
THANKSBefore I start I will get my thanks out the way, as I'm in no way a dev and anything that has been added/modded/hacked in to this ROM has been through the hard work and ingenuity of others much smarter than me. I'm merely a tracer! Anyways in no particular order:
|jeffsanace| |billbowers| |fernandosor| |ilDuce| |grayn0de| |tommytomatoe| |Skyraider| |swagstr| |ca1ne| ||PapaSmurf151| |SteelH| |Pvy Parts| |XxXPachaXxX| |freeza| |Romanbb| |Qliratu, Mendozinas & Avreen| |SharpIS03| |boombuler| |hansip87| |mazda| |dsixda| |amarullz| |detcup4evr| |Digital☆Karma| |AndroidON| |jamieg71| |ropodope|
I'm sure the list goes on but these are the ones that immediately spring to mind. PM me if something I added was by someone not listed and I'll add credit.

Changelog
Anyhows, I went about making this ROM for a few reasons:
1. I wanted rid of a lot of Sense (although had a change of heart lately)
2. I wanted the extra mods found on other Sprint based ROMs, hence the ROM name (Google translate the Kanji)
3. I wanted them while retaining the functionality of our KDDI au software (WiMAX, native hotspot, Cmail)
A fully functional rooted ROM was only recently brought to the EVO WiMAX (4G) here in Japan (thanks SharpIS03 for his method), and since then I've been searching, bugging others, and working on getting all those mods onto this ROM, which is based off the latest au stock update (2.26.970.1). Thankfully only minor alterations were needed to those mods on the Sprint ROMs to get them compatible, although some things need a bit of ironing out still. Here is what has been added:
Mods in no particular order:
Advanced Power Menu w/ 4-in-1 reboot
Super Extended Quick Settings - Long press functions and reboot.
30 step volume for Media mod
Smooth scrolling mod
Animation and Transition default speed increase
Transparency in menu
On/Off CRT Animation
1% battery increments
Framework image changes
Native Screenshot
Status bar tweaks (hide am/pm, battery, signal, clock, clock centering)
Volume Rocker to change music track when screen is off.
build.prop tweaks
Sony Bravia and xLoud tweaks
Removed Personalize from Settings menu
AppWidgetPicker
Swipe to clear notification
Battery Bar Mod (Miui style) (Change using battery bar settings app)
Remappable Rosie via Rosie Utility - Thanks Tommy Tomato
I used dsixda's ROM Kitchen so the following has been added/done:
busybox and run-parts (init.d)
Dark Tremor's a2sd
Data/app function
Bash terminal and nano text writer sysrw/sysro
Task killer tweaks
apks have been deodexed and zipaligned.
Boot.img edits
All stock functionality has/should be retained so WiMax and native Tethering are still there most importantly for Japanese users.
There's also the addition of some tweaks into the boot.img and init.d which should help with the running of your phone.
Thanks to Ropodope for his COD script and PapaSmurf for his Smurfed Out Script from which most of the values came from.
Now with added Aroma...
The installation process now takes place inside the aroma installer. This means I've given you some options on how to set up the ROM. There are now six choices of launcher replacement including rosie, based on the Sense 4 look by Digitalkarma in his 777 Jackpot.
Also there are several choices of kernel to choose from. There's ca1ne's Classic and Underworld kernels (with and without SBC), and detcup4evr's More Lionfish kernel (SBC + non-SBC). The latest versions should be the ones that come in the installer.
This is the first run of the installer for me. If there are futher options users want let me know in this thread :good:
Default options are ss Launcher, ca1ne's underworld kernel with SBC, the colourful SystemUI.

I want to know if it works well and what could be better, so feedback would be great. This isn't my job and is very much a passion project so I'll update as often as I can, and do what I can to make the experience better for users.
If any requests are made I'll look into what I can do.
Be warned this is a ROM based on the Japanese carrier KDDI au stock ROM, and I've made it primarily as a ROM for users in Japan, so WiMAX will most likely not work outside of Japan if you try this. Also other carrier based services may not function for you outside of Japan.
Disclaimer: If you use this ROM I am not responsible for any mishaps to your phone. You know the risks involved. That's why we do it, no?! There shouldn't be any though. Go on! Flash it!! Even if only for an hour! :highfive:
Download it. Try it. And enjoy it!!

Other stuff
Ok once you've downloaded this ROM I have some recommendations.
Recovery
Go this thread RA Supersonic v4.3 SmelkusMOD, and download this recovery. It is currently, in my opinion, the best recovery out there for our phone. Just take a look at that wipe menu. Get it, flash it, boom! Next make a nandroid, you know, just in case. Back up all that you think is needed. Then use the first two options in the wipe menu (Clear caches and Format all). If you wanna, use superwipe just to make sure.
Don't forget to press thanks after d/l. Find Amon Ra and drellesdee as well thank them too!!
Sd Ext Partition
Now, as mentioned, I've baked in dta2sd. To get this to work you need an ext- partition on your sd-card. You can do that in the recovery or if you want Google the Mini Tool Partition Wizard Home Edition and you can use this on your PC to do the same thing.
Bear in mind partioning your sd card will WIPE EVERYTHING so any data you want to keep, move to your computer manually first or somewhere it is safe. I recommend using ext3 as your partition for this ROM and making it between 512MB-1GB(1024MB), no bigger. I'm using a 16GB class 10 with storage (14GB) and ext3 (1GB). If you use a2sd you will have free internal storage of around 300MB+ on initialising.
Once you've wiped your phone, and partitioned your sd-card, flash the rom zip, and go through the installer. It's pretty self explanatory. You can choose to auto-reboot or go back to recovery and do whatever you want before rebooting.
The splash screen will hang for a few minutes, and then the boot animation will too, as the phone sets up. Give it in total about 15minutes to finish loading the first time. Then check it out.
Misc
There are some additional apps I included in the ROM installation process. These can be found in the changelog in post #3.
These are the free versions but I strongly recommend supporting these devs and their great apps by getting the paid versions.
Also there is a Tweaks app, Rosie Utility, and Wallpaper Chooser included for doing stuff. You'll figure it out :good:
Wallpaper Chooser
Link to post with wallpaper chooser apk
Thanks to Tommy Tomatoe for this handy apk. Now I've only add a few pictures in to this. If you want any added send me a PM with a link to the pictures you want included and I will go about putting them in.
Status Bar alternative
Over on this thread I've had a go at making some alternative Statusbars for people to flash in recovery. I've had a go at making two so far. If people wanna let me know of anything else they might want. Cool.
Launcher Replacements
The default launcher replacement, ss Launcher, is pretty slick in my opinion. It's limitations are your creativity. Check out this thread to see what other users have come up with.
The Rosie is being brought back and is themed now via Digitalkarma's v7.77 Heaven/Jackpot ROM, 'cos it got the look. Remappable button and other Rosie Functions via the Rosie Utility are a big thanks to Tommy T. Here is the thread. Check it out.
The other replacements are GO Launcher EX, MiHome, Nemus, and Holo Launcher.
Bugs
If you run into any bugs or issues please report them on this thread. Try to give as many details as possible, whats happening, when it happened, what were you doing at the time, a logcat if necessary (the catlog app will help you there), and also what set up you chose in the aroma installer, launcher, kernel, add-ons...If I can replicate it then it will make it easier to fix the problem.
Current bugs:
-> SystemUI may or may not force close on first boot before signing in. Just click ok and proceed to sign in.
-> SMS for KDDI au users: The first message might fail to send. Immediately re-write your message in new text box and it will send fine.
->Au One Market not working: Can't get the fix to work either.
-> Sprint users: SMS will fail to send. No solution as of yet

My Splash Screens

Envious Light v1

This is my first attempt at a theme for this ROM. I was partly inspired by Mada's DarkLIGHT, and not being able to have it running properly here in Japan.
Now this is the first version and there may be some bits that have not been done just yet, either missed or overlooked. I will add to this as I go along

The launcher is the screenshots is ADW launcher. The text clock is One More Clock.
This can flashed over your current ROM set up but it will replace your current features.

Its also available through the gooManager app if you have that on your phone.
Please give feedback and opinions if you use this.
Thanks

Nice. I'll have to update soon, think I'm still at r5.
While I generally prefer AOSP-ROMs, that'l have to wait until HTC gets out that bloody source so the AOSP ROMs can be a full worthy replacement. Lukilly I have your kitchen too keep my phone usabl and tweakable in the meantime.
is this still in beta or is it final but with patches here and there?
nexus one next?
thx for yo work
Yep! r8 will become N1 r24 when I drop the Nexus One compatability bits in.

Thanks paul! Can't wait to try it. I'm fed up with the bickering between od, defrost and kali. So this is a good moment to switch. Heard great stories!

Notification Menu Power Control Widgets for Sense - 3.70 OTA (How to Change them)
By creating a pipe delimited list (|) of widgets in a one-line text file named widget.txt, and dropping this file into the '/system/customize/' folder on your phone.
So, say you want your power control bar to contain 4 widgets for 4G, Wifi, Bluetooth, and Sync. You would create a one-line file using the following syntax:
Code:
toggleWimax|toggleWifi|toggleBluetooth|toggleSync
Note: there CANNOT be any spaces between each widget defined, and the pipe delimiter is only placed between each instance, but not at the beginning or end. The syntax has to be EXACT, and case must match EXACTLY. If you have an error in your list, the slot / position where the error exists will result in an empty slot on your power control bar. If you fubar it bad enough, you'll probably bootloop your phone, so please use caution and check your work.
Once you've created your file, again, named widget.txt, all lower-case, using adb, push to your phone (the following commands assume your widget.txt file is in the same folder where you are issuing the adb commands):
Code:
adb remountadb push widget.txt /system/customize/adb reboot
For your reference, when creating your 'widget.txt' file, here is the complete list of available widgets with correct syntax that you can copy / paste into your file (don't forget to pipe delimit them):
Code:
toggleWimax
toggleAirplane
toggleAutoRotate
toggleBluetooth
toggleBrightness
toggleFlashlight
toggleGPS
toggleLockScreen
toggleMobileData
toggleScreenTimeout
toggleSleepMode
toggleSound
toggleSync
toggleWifi
Thanks goes to JsChiSurf for this mod

Everything Works, I can't test 4g but it is based off a stock ROM. I have 345mb free after installing all my apps (and I have alot of aps) with a2sd running. Seems very stable no force closes, and seems fast with stock kernel (which I am going to change) I mainly Mashed my theme in a stock rom and changed rosie with drop down widgets, different fonts. Nothing super special just wanted to share. Plus I'm in the learning Stages. Once I get a better grip on Java I hope to do big things.
Runs great ith BcBlend Kernel

INSTALLATION
CWM-Recovery has to be on the phone
1. Download GT-I9001_signed_Cryberts_Rom_v1.3.1.zip
2. Put the zip on your internal SD-Card
3. Go into Recovery-Mode
4. Make a backup of your existing rom
5. This step isn't necessary:
Go to "Mounts and Storage" and format cache, system and data
6. Flash GT-I9001_signed_Cryberts_Rom_v1.3.1.zip
7. Then power-off the phone and wait some time before you start it again. When it doesn't bootup take out the battery and wait some time.
8. Now you can restore your data. Therefore go into CWM and do an advanced restore with only the data.

I do not really think, that this is a problem. If you need an app, just shout and someone will upload
Nevertheless, a changelog for added/removed apps would be nice.
That Rom looks absolutely beautiful...!! i got a couple of questions: The scores in the CPU section of Antutu are extremely low since you only modified the stock kernel with init.d and boot animation support. You just could've taken a kernel of Manveru0 or Sakindia123 with OC/UV as well. And (I can't make it up from the changelog) did you implement CWM as standard recovery? And extended powermenu (I presume that one's implemented since it was in Reneph's theme allready, you might want to state it in the changelog as well)? Last question; what's the use of the 3 lower buttons on the homescreen, since all phones with hardware buttons won't have those enabled in official ICS roms?
Other than that, I'll be checking this one out...!!

I don't think that the scores are really that low and I just wanted to use the stock kernel for my base. So if someone wants OC/UV he just has to flash one of the other kernels and thats it.

No CWM isn't included. You need CWM to flash this rom so I think there is no sense for implementing it.

The buttons can't be removed.
The left one is for restarting the launcher.
The one in the middle is for seeing all homescreens.
The right one gives you access to the shortcuts.

May you can consider using Go Launcher EX with ICS-launcher theme as default launcher. Its pretty nice too and do not have such buttons

Kind of obvious about CWM indeed, since it has to be flashed with CWM

Thought about that too. Perhaps I will remove ICS Launcher in the next version. Because it seems that GoLauncher is also a bit more stable and smoother.

The ICS Launcher by SyndicateApps is very unstable atm. I would also suggest some other launcher instead.
Great work anyway!
Just flashed it, booted up nicely with a nice galaxy nexus animation. So far so good. Had no problems yet with ICS launcher, but I'm now going to try Go launcher EX with ICS theme, just to see which one's better looking
Downloaded, instaled sucessfuly!
For now, no FC-s, really great!
Thanks a lot.
Will play with it for testing further

Anyway, great job, thanks
Nice work! good to see more custom roms
You updated Market on newest version (3.4.4)?
Tapatalked from my Samsung Galaxy S Plus
Will try it now, Changelog looks really great.
Only App i would not have removed is Kies Air, i thinks it's a great one but that's not the point, i'll make a backup of it
Edit: I'll change back to the stock Touchwiz-ROM for one time, just to make a backup of the music player. I like that you can directly control it from the notificatiobar. But two questions but that's my personal taste. How can I get back the Touchwiz lockscreen and you said that the contacts and phone have been modded, but I actually don't see any changes. I'll change it by my own just like some small other things I don't like but all I all great work!
Edit2: For the next version you could include the newest version of Swype.

[ROM][2012.06.20] AlterROM Redux v1.0.1 [4.67-Senseless][AROMA]

AlterROM Redux (Codename: CHIMERA) is a custom Android ROM for the HTC Evo 4G (Supersonic) which aims for optimal speed, rock solid stability and a high level of customization. Based on a highly optimized version of the 4.67 OTA update, but with most of the SenseUI removed, AlterROM gives you the stability of stock without all of the overhead of Sense 1.0. Utilizing the powerful AROMA Installer, AlterROM gives you the power to choose exactly which modifications you would like in your ROM when you flash, from alternative launchers to custom kernels and everything in-between. AlterROM aims to allow you to make your phone truly yours!

AlterScript is a script created to maintain AlterROM. It is still a W.I.P. and some features (such as Odex) are experimental. Always make sure you have a good NANDroid backup before doing any system wide changes. Use at your own risk. YMMV.
For best results, it's recommended to run AlterScript through ADB, rather than directly on the device. Not sure why, but the Odex option will occasionally freeze the phone. Nothing is damaged, but it requires a battery pull (or adb reboot) to recover.
Location on AlterROM: /sdcard/AlterROM/scripts/
Download Latest Version: Current in AlterROM Redux v1.0.1*
Options:
Odex AlterROM (Experimental)
If you odex AlterROM, you'll need to immediately reboot to recovery and wipe cache and dalvik-cache. Script will reboot device upon completion. Also, you will need to reodex after every version or mod flash and possibly clean install some version.
Re-optimize Performance
This will re-optimize performance settings to AlterROM defaults. Nothing more, nothing less.

Attached some to the OP. Note that the background is not the default, as I have not figured out how to set that in GO Launcher EX by cooking, and the Lockscreen shown is the default GO Locker, which is not installed in my initial release. ROM comes with the standard Android lockscreen.
I wanted this rom to be as stripped and customizable as possible from flash.

Nicely done, Did you remove every possible sense related item (Without breaking the ROM of course)? I been wanting one like that which can give the most possible AOSP like experience. Going to give this a try.

Thanks. TBH, I played around with other launchers (LauncherPro & ADW.Launcher), but I liked GO Launcher EX the best. This is actually my first time using it at all.
I like Sense, but I can't theme to save my life, yet... wanted a little more than stock and to give more freedom to the users.

IMO, you could still release your ROM. Tommytomatoe's base is a LOT more optimized than mine is right now. I thought about using it myself, but decided it would be more beneficial for me to learn what was done.

Yes, as far as I can tell. I left in the Music, Calculator, Sound Recorder and Weather apps (maybe a couple others that are Sense themed), because they looked better with the ROM than some of the market alternatives that I found.
I have plans to try to theme everything I can to fit more with the default look of GO Launcher EX, but I'm still very new to theming.
Looks good. Always happy to try something new

I only noticed one issue so far with the Kernel I think... The wifi drops completely and then reconnects. Not sure why. I've tried other ROM's using this base and that didn't happen. Gonna flash LionFish kernel to see if it still happens.
This has a fairly new look (or at least a new combination of some familiar elements). Thanks grayn0de!

No problem, I also flashed the anthrax kernel but the issues seems to keep happening. It might not be a kernel issue but something else within? I'm no dev so haha, I'm sorry. =) Maybe I can try getting a log but I wouldn't be so sure what to look for.
EDIT: I added a two different logs during the moment the WIFI disconnects. Hope that helps.

Found a permissions issue in my update-script for the Wireless N fix. It's been fixed and OP has been updated with fresh download link, as well as md5 hash. I tested for a good 30 minutes without network drops or packet loss.

[Q&A]
This section hopefully addresses some common questions. Read this before posting any questions.
Before asking anything, clear cache and dalvik cache and see if it fixes the problem.
Browser unable to load anything despite 3G working? See here.
Q: Where is 3D gallery/video/gaming? How can I get it?
A: Never, until LG open-sources their proprietary Real3D framework. Now stop asking. Please?
Q: I don't want CM! I still want 3D!
A: Look elsewhere. There are great stock roms by ThiaiZ and The Dark Lestat as well as Meemo23 on this forum
Q: Must I wipe data? I have a lot of apps and data!
A: From experience, you must wipe when you install this rom for the first time. Afterwards, you can just wipe cache and dalvik cache and install the apps again. DO NOT restore Titanium backups since it will virtually leave your phone in the state it was before factory resetting.
Q: When I boot my phone, LauncherPro doesn't start/hangs/shows a black screen!
A: It is a well known problem with LauncherPro. Just press and hold the back button until a popup appears, then select "force close".
Q: I want to overclock Can I flash TitanKernel?
A: Flashing a stock kernel on CM will result in bootloops. Although overclocking is not needed for this rom since it's so fast and smooth already, you can use the overclockable modules here to overclock, and read the instructions there. Make sure you download the CM compatible modules and not the other modules.
Q: Do I need a task killer?
A: No! Task killers are not needed on a rom like this In fact, they can cause more problems than they solve...
Q: Where do I change the themes?
A: After installing the rom, go to the apps list and scroll down until you find Theme Chooser. From there, you can choose the corresponding theme you want. If it says that it is missing files, ignore it and apply the files anyway. Try Lucid and Vivid, they are exclusive to this rom only as they are paid themes on Play Store. However, Sonny (the developer of the themes) kindly allowed me to use his themes for free. Support Sonny by purchasing his themes here and here for your other phones Also, his ICS theme is included for you to mock those without ICS or its lookalikes
Q: Where do I get the LauncherPro themes for the themes?
A: The ICS and Lucid themes are already in the rom. There is no LauncherPro theme for Vivid if I'm not mistaken.
Q: How do I make my LauncherPro dock look like it came from ICS?
Download this and this. Extract the zip file to a folder your phone's sdcard. To set icons, long tap on the individual icons in the dock, select change icon, custom icon then browse to the correct icon. For the dock, tap the settings button in homescreen > preference > appearance settings > dock background > custom > [folder of icons] hhhha.png. If the icons do not appear, reboot your phone and it will appear. Done!
Q: Why is [app] not working?
A: Ask the developers of [app]. Only ask if it's root-related or is affected by busybox or something related to what I added in the rom.
Q: Can you include RTL support?
A: Try CM first. I have no idea if RTL is included as there are 3 Arabic languages in Languages so you tell me if it's included
Q: Why is xxx feature not working?
A: Don't ask me because I'm not the developer of CyanogenMod You can report functionality issues here. Examples of what should be reported to the CyanogenMod team would be call echoes, although they will not accept any reports of problems when you use this rom as they only want reports from stock CyanogenMod users. Only ask here if it's related to the tweaks I made.

Hi, I can try that over the weekend. However, the reason I based this on CM is because LG stock roms lag too badly Nonetheless, I will give it a try and see if there's a noticeable performance hit. If it isn't too bad, I'll put that up instead to get the best of both worlds
How is the battery behaving? Thanks.
wifi work only 5 min
Nice to see more people getting involved in the O3D world i will try your rom soon...

On idle it drains pretty slowly, about 3% overnight. It lasts one and a half days or so
for me, ymmv depending on your usage.

any screenshots available?
Can you clarify which version of CM 7.2 you are using?
It sounds fickle but there's stable, release candidate, nightly etc. along with different but similar devices p920, p970, etc.
In p920 directory alone, today there is:
update-cm-7-20120410-NIGHTLY-p920-signed.zip
update-cm-7-20120403-NIGHTLY-p920-signed.zip
update-cm-7-20120402-NIGHTLY-p920-signed.zip
update-cm-7.2.0-RC1-p920-signed.zip
cm_p920_full-49.zip
cm_p920_full-48.zip
It makes a big difference if we are to then debug found issues, particularly with the famous ghost call/radio baseband issues. It is rumoured that the very latest CM7.2 for p920 fixes these.
Cheers
Leon
Ps. It may be handy too if you could also create a kitchen ROM version, so people can flash over the latest nightly CM7.2 ontop of your existing patch (or vice-versa)

Try reading the main post. Near the top.
As for the second part, for future updates there's no need to wipe data, just clearing cache and dalvik cache will do. You only need to wipe data for the first install.

Will do that once I get hold of my computer. Most tweaks are not visible since they are performance tweaks, but will post some screenies up anyway.

The kit largely automates rooting, baseband flashing and CWM flashing. If you don't need any of it you can skip the preparation kit and install the rom straightaway.
when 3d will work on cm7 !! i am in !
been dying to use cm7 but lack of 3d is a no go for me !!
