How to root HTC T328W after OTA?
Build No.: 1.56.1402.6 CL65713

Hey PeeJ. I am also trying to do the same thing. I just bought mine in Shanghai. I was only able to unlock the bootloader. The rooting methods on this and the androidforum did not work for me. Most of the software is chinese, but I could see I was unable to write into bin directory or something like that. Maybe I missed a step, but hope to restore my google capability and get all the Wiebo, Sino stuff off my phone.....

[Q] New to android hacking

I have a HTC Desire HD on T-Mobile Uk 2.3.3 software 2.37.110.5 CL58702. I can't seem to find this on the internet. The reason I wanted it was because I wanted to root and maybe install custom roms, etc. I would like to have a backup of this for warranty purposes.
From what I understand I cannot dump the rom without root access, to gain root access, I have to downgrade first? I'm not too sure what the best method to root the phone is, I've discovered different methods, some seem old. What is the best way to allow me to root but be able to flash back to the software mentioned above just in case.
Can't anyone help me?

[Q] Mytouch 4G 2.3.4 Root/Downgrade

I Have a mytouch 4g which was updated to 2.3.4 from 2.2.1 via the T-Mobile store , but now i decided that i want to root it ,the problem is u cannot root 2.3.4 , but i read a couple of XDA Posts that you can downgrade , i tried it , with putting the 2.2.1 PD15IMG.zip on the SD Card but i get the following Message " The PD15IMG File is an older version of Andriod." Can someone help me with downgrading or if there is a method to root 2.3.4 ? Thanks In Advance !
same question,waiting for the answer....
Honestly it sounds like the stock rom may be corrupted, -I would- try a couple other ones. Other than that I don't know, I downgraded mine but the update was done before I received the device, I don't know how it's done in the store.
IF your phone is still under warranty or you have insurance you could exchange it for another one, if you just said it was constantly freezing or the touch screen didn't work [by calling], and you'd receive another with the update stock and you can downgrade that via tutorial here [I did]
problem solved...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1178912
this uses ADB so be sure u know what you are doing...
then use GFREE Method

this gives u the engineering bootloader, sim unlock, clockwork mod recovery... basically its an all in one package... in a easy to follow youtube guide...

[Q] Will a brand new Z3 be still rootable ?

Hi,
im looking at buying a Z3 at the weekend but the main thing is will it be still rootable? Im not sure what firmware it will come with
Are all versions still able to achieve root?
If so could someone link me to the best root method, much appreciated
I've bought a Z3 3 weeks ago and it rooted just fine. You do need to flash an older firmware

5.0.2 isn't rootable, at least not directly.
As long as we have root method for at least one fw available for device we can root all new firmwares.
So...it's not a problem to root Z3, no matter which fw was on it.
All you need is to downgrade to 4.4.4 (version that could be rooted), root it, install recovery and then upgrade by flashing prerooted ROM.
Z3 will retain root possibility as long as its alive...
Of course, all of that applies for locked bootloader.
If you want to unlock bootloader, you could root device by flashing kernel via fastboot...

thanks for the help, phone is coming tomorrow so it will be the first thing i do.
Coming from a nexus 5 so should be quite an improvement, especially battery life.
Another Question
is app2sd built into the firmware? or do you need a third party app which requires root?
things i need installed on SD card:
all games / apps including titanium backup PRO
can it be done?
If you get a new T-mobile Z3, you will not be able to root or unlock the bootloader.

[Q] Canadian Galaxy Core SM-g386W rooting

Hi everyone,
i have been searching for 2 weeks how to root this phone, but no luck yet. I am saying no luck for a proper way to do it , because you can do it with the avant method, or by using the CF method which uses the SM-G386T firmware, and for reading lots of forums, i know it works, but the problem is if i ever want to update later, i would not be able to do so. I already have the firmware for my phone, G386WVLU1ANJ1, running android 4.4.2 KITKAT, and i have extracted the recovery.img from the firmware file. I am searching how to unlock the bootloader so i can apply whatever rooting method i want. Since i am new to this, i need some information. If i ever want to use the CF-Auto-Root method using the SM-G368T model, can i go back to stock phone whenever needed by flashing recovery image from the SM-G386W ?. If not, is there any other method i can use, preferably one that doesn't trip my KNOX flag to 0x01. Until now i have tried 2 methods, Towelroot and Z4root, which didn't work at all. The main reason i want to root is i want to get rid of the bloatware installed by default on my phone and gain control of my phone without any restrictions, and customizing it.
Please need help.
Thank you very much
P.S: can anyone recommend some reading about rooting android phones?

Update 2015/06/28: i finally did manage to root it properly with iRoot.
Thanks for nothing !!!

I also own one of these phones and would like to root the phone to get rid of bloat ware and make the phone run smoother. I would appreciate if you could give a quick run down on how you managed your root. Greatly appreciated.

Root for Verizon Prepaid Galaxy j7?

Hi,
I was wondering if there is a root method for the Samsung Galaxy j7 Verizon's 2017 edition (SM-J727VPP). Is it even possible? I read that the bootloader for verizon phones are locked so you can't root them. Is this correct?
Thanks.
I'm on the same boat. I love the phone but not sure how to root it. Anyone know if the other root methods work for this phone?
I just bought this phone as well. Anyone dedicated into developing an unlock method for the bootloader and custom recovery would greatly be appreciated.

I haven't tried on this one yet (scared) but with Verizon's bootloader I know that its pretty much permanently locked.
... at the very least for now,
Meaning, it MAY be possible to get root BUT that would b where the road ended... no custom roms.... etc.
Root better than nothing.

Maybe you can try the app in this video for Windows looks like it has a big list of various Samsung models
I tried the link in the video but it takes you to a 4shared link that seems kind of spammy so I searched for the file on Google and found it eventually about to try it on the PC right now..
Tried it its a jtag app that need a box to flash firmware
We need to find a 7.1 n root exploits that work or find a way to dump the firmware I can't find any restore firmwares online yet

I have the stock firmware for j727VPP, the QB2 bootloader version to be exact, which is stock. It's Odin flushable , if u need it for any reason restore or w.e let me know n send me an email @ [email protected] . Also, Verizon just came out with a update for j727vpp which changed the bootloader to QF3. Do not update, otherwise going back to QB2 will be near impossible and if anyone does come out with a root then it will be for the QB2, not EF3 bootloader. But, if u already did update and need the EF3 firmware for restore purposes I have that as well, except it is in a ENC4 format, which is a RAW format for firmware. U will need to decrypt it with 7Zip to Tar or Md5 in order to be able to flash it. Like i said email me - [email protected] and I'll provide u with whatever files u need.

Any root yet?
Is there a working root method available for this phone yet? There are a few websites that claim to be able to root it, but I don't want to take a chance and brick my phone. Thanks.
