I'm not sure how popular these are but i searched out the internet and a found a few interesting lists as these:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Android_Launchers
http://androidforums.com/android-applications/404459-big-list-home-launchers.html
So far i tested out:
Zeam
LauncherPro
LauncherPro Plus
GO Launcher EX
SPB Shell 3D
ADW.Launcher
ADWLauncher EX
MXHome Launcher
TSF Shell 3D
SlideScreen
And they mostly all look the same
I'd say Zeam is the fastest of them all but has very little bonus options
To me, ADW Launcher EX and GO Launcher are the best due to the fact i'm an HTC fan and they both have a resemblence to the Sense rom.
also cyanogen used to use adw.launcher
spb Shell 3D and TSF Shell 3D are good for show offs
But my question is has anyone tested out any of the bigger list and to share personal opinions.
EDIT: I wish i could have them all but memory get's too clogged up and battery goes from 100% to 5% in less than e few hours
I really miss Apex launcher on your list!
In my opinion the best launcher ever, give it a try!

There is also Nova and Trebuchet
there is also this

I had some good exp. With Nova Launcher
but of course, I haven't rooted it yet, still thinking about updating my modem. Due to signal loss. But back on topic: Nova Laucher does the trick for me, even though I had more fun times with GO Launcher EX and ADW.Launcher. Nova Laucher is plain and very smooth for my needs

I have to agree with this, lots of options and very quick and fluid on my tab.
I'm hoping to try out the features of Sweeter Home sometime soon. Lots of options that aren't available or as easy to render with other Launchers.
For now though I still love Launcher Pro; it's literally only missing two options that I'd like to see.
I personally like adw launcher for my galaxy s. it looks nice, has loads of customization options
Also i wanted to ask which battery saver is better
Juice Defender (ultimate)
or
Battery Booster
I feel like they are both uselss, i tried them out 1 by 1 not at same time
Try FTL Launcher. Fastest launcher ever.

Don't promote Android theft on this site. This is a site run by people who develop for Android and who deserve pay for the work they do if they ask for it. Take that crap elsewhere.
+1 to above.
Holo launcher is my adwex replacement for now as it just runs smoother on current rom.
HTC wildfire: LeWaOs
My favorite is Trebuchet

Been playing around with different launchers, can't stand TouchWiz, and tried out SPB Shell... Works flawlessly on the Infuse, fast and smooth as butter - love it! Lots of eye candy and some pretty cool widgets too. Everything looks great on that big screen!
It's a little pricey, but IMO worth it!
ADW
Ive been using adw for the atrix and now for the infuse, dont know that it gets any better than that. The infuse runs the animations and transitions perfectly!
I'm using Launcher Pro.. Love it.. The latest version is pretty sweet..
im not a fan of spb. but the others are good. there is also go launcher and zeam launcher.
i personally dont mind cheaze wiz, and things like kies and a few widgets dont work without it running.. i prefer to use gtg465x's launchers, he made some for the captivate and i9000 with a 5-icon dock if you dont like the 4icon dock.
Running Sony arc from cont.5.5 on captivate ..speed the phone up more and more available ram..plus its cleaner looking.
sent from Infuse but miss my captivate on cont. 5.5.... One day this can be as good...
Can you share the sony arc launcher apk? I'm a huge fan of that launcher from continuum 5.5 also. Thanks

Spb is like a corvette, not very practical imo. Something You want to show off with.
ADW is my daily driver...
Are the others a lot better than Go Launcher EX?
No one uses Go Launcher EX? I'm fairly new to Android phones (had/have an Archos 5IT Android which is still running their version of donut, but with market and some other hacks), so I just picked the first free launcher I found. So far I really like it. The themes are OK and the customization seems as good as any and it's pretty full featured. Everything they release for it is free, though some 3rd party add-on are paid. I don't know anything about ADW or LPro, but I'm an app addict so I'm sure I'll tinker around with those sometime soon.
What are the best or your favorite features of ADW or Launcher Pro?
Thanks!
Go Launcher EX is very good, almost too good... with their many free widgets. I wonder if they are spying on me.

I've been using Spb as a daily driver for months and it's great for me. Yeah I do show off with it at times but it is a good launcher. Launcher pro was my daily driver for almost a year.
Just out of curiosity... How is SPB Shell and battery life? doesn't drain it more than it used to before spb shell, drains more, or drains less?
With Spb shell 3d I didn't notice much difference with battery life compared to others I've used but I would notice that under heavy loads of use that it would become laggy or restart itself. That gets annoying after a while because it takes a while like 2 minutes sometimes to start. Its a nice launcher but I've put it aside for now and I'm using the Sony Ericsson launcher now which is a lot quicker.

What is the best launcher to have on my Evo 3D?
I know theres so many launchers I just have a tough time choosing.
SPB Shell, Regina Launcher, Go Launcher, ADW, LaucherPro
Launcher7, Zeam, and Gingerbread launcher are good as well. It all comes down to personal preference.
Posted by Mr. Z's Epic 4G via Tapatalk
Zeam launcher. Best launcher I've used (I've tried stock, Launcher Pro and ADW). Love the fact that after using task killer I have 88M memory available (before I used to get over 100M sometimes - Using Cya-no-Gen Ver 1.2)
Its light, fast, and clean. What more could you want?
Moved as not development.
After trying alot of launchers i.m.o it's Go Launcher but what you should do is try them as only you will find what suits your needs...
This is very subjective. I suggest trying a few and seeing what you like. I prefer ADW, but there are many good ones. Is there something specific you are looking for feature-wise?

I used to love ADW when I was using my HTC magic. Now on the Arc, I've tried ADW and Go launcher. Go was cool, but a little laggy. I then went back to stock, but it was boring. So I'm now trying Zeam and looking so far. Very smooth, simple, light weight. However I get bored easily and may change next week!

ADW, LaucherPro
QQ Launcher Pro
This will be an amazing launcher once they fix all the little bugs. But so far so good on my G2x.
I think that Zeam Launcher is the lightest
I am new to the custom ROM world, and CM7 was the 3rd ROM I tried, and is the last. I absolutely love it. I have a question.
The CM7 comes with the ADW Launcher, can I purchase the ADW EX Launcher and run it without any issues, or will things go wrong?
Yes you can.
It works great with it.

Is there any way to keep it transparent when viewing the app drawer? I really like that feature of CM7's ADW.
I think it's fair to look at the Launcher wars like this:
Zeam: Barebones, lacks features, quick.
LauncherPro: Good speed, moderately customizable, good widgets (paid version).
GO Launcher: (My favorite). Good speed, highly customizable, great widgets, great features.
ADW Launcher: The most features and customization options. Kind of bloated IMO, not as fast as the other launchers in my experience.
I dunno about bloated. Its fast as all hell on my phone. Go launcher is good too but I don't use it because of a couple of annoyances. It looks like **** when you resize the home screen to a 6x6 grid for one. I also don't like the way it puts the home screen previews on a 9x9 grid regardless of how many home screens you actually have. It does have the best home screen layout editing of any launcher I've used, but I tend not to really mess with that once my setup is done so adw ex suits me better.

So recently I have have been looking at these launchers. I mainly use go launcher, but I want to hear community feedback on each. I need a launcher that is very light on RAM (G2X has 512 mb ram, 1/4 is dedicated to gpu). So which one do you use and why?
Sent from my G2X
Just like you I'm using Go Launcher because of its smoothness and because you can customize it as you wish. I've also used ADW and LauncherPro before but in my opinion Go Launcher feels smoother. I don't really know about how much RAM they use. Guess I didn't really paid a lot of attention to it

I use go because adw crashes every time I type a text on my phone. But used to use adw on my old phone.
I tested ram use and on my 512mb phone adw used about five mb more ram than go but both are as smooth as each other.
You didn't mention it but if your choice is purely ram use based zeam launcher might be worth a look as it used an average ten mb less ram than adw or go and is still pretty customisable.

I've got all three, launcher pro plus, adw ex, and go launcher ex.
Adw is smoother, but I use go due to its useful widgets.
It's smooth and has great dev behind it who updates regular. Best of all it's free.
Both will serve you well if you don't need the widgets that go provide then use adw.

I personally prefer GO to ADW Launcher ... 1000 times ...
It is much more customizable and complete! then we can add GO Locker, GO, GO SMS Contact with different themes to choose from a wide choice! so is all complete with launcher GO!
I recommend and use it forever!
Sorry for my English ...
Go Launcher is the way to go in my opinion.
But it really is all about preference. I recommend trying them both regardless of what people use.
I have at one point or another liked both of them but Go Launcher stole me away with the calendar widget.
It's only up to you. Go Launcher provides much more ''GO'' widgets but your phone will look like someone's else. If you are skilled in graphics or photoshop editing, I recommend ADW Ex where you can literally make everything on your own. I have been using ADW Ex for a couple of months and it's very smooth, stable and like I said fully customizable.
I have been using Go Launcher EX on my rooted Nook Tablet and it seems to work quite well; although the task manager widget does occasionally crash. I have not yet seen anyone respond to the question: How does RAM usage of Go Launcher compare to that of ADW. Has anyone done this comparison and care to share with the group? For some reason I have not been able to get ADW to install properly on my NT yet (need a little more time).
ADW issue on Nook Tablet
Disregard - Like TabletGeek, I too rooted my Nook Tablet but with ADW as the launcher. It works almost perfectly.. The only issue I have is on boot up or navigating to the home screen, I get a "Problem Loading Widget" error. If you go to the all apps screen, it works fine. I've looked all over for a cause but can't find anything that might be the issue so I'm wondering if jumping over to Go is worth it. I'm also not sure how to get from a rooted NT with ADW to load with Go. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
Adw is smoother, looks clean (icon graphics) runs great

GO LAUNCHER for sure... ADW restarts when i press home key while playing a game or while browsing...comparatively go launcher has no such problems... also would recommend SPB shell 3d (paid app**) ... having a basic android phone made me realize many things... \m/

Launcher Pro/Plus
Go Launcher EX
ADWLauncher EX
Launcher 7
HTC Sense
Regina
Zeam

MXHome
SPB Shell 3D

Personally, Sense. The only reason I say this is because if you have one like LauncherPro, it just adds to the amount of RAM already being consumed, and makes it slower.

Zeam is light weight + fast + does not hog the battery. Win win in my book.
I think the whole launcher wars crap is overrated. What do you need to do that's so special with your launcher, anyway? Are you launching nuclear missiles? As long as you can put icons and arrange it how you want it, then who cares? (PS every launcher can do that)

I'd disagree with this statement. One of the benefits of using a specific launcher with stock Sense, for instance, was that it made everything feel a lot smoother. LauncherPro, for instance, glided between home screens where Sense would stutter a bit. And there are quite a few differences in overall look; ADW has the best method of hiding the status/notification bar, Launcher 7 emulates WP, and Slidescreen is just totally different.
Personally, I like Launcher 7's clean look quite a lot. Widget implementation definitely needs some work, but it's a great way to freshen up your phone's UI every now and then.
When I ran Ginggy I had Go launcher EX and sometimes ADW (I think, I cant remember lol) and now that I am on ICS I use Nova. It is the stock ICS launcher but with more user tweaks.

Sense launcher: laggy
I just updated to ARHD 6.2.1 ICS with Sense; I'd been Senseless for a long time on my Sensation (ARHD 3.x + NoSense). I tried to live with the Sense launcher for about half a day, but it's so laggy, especially coming back to the home screen from an app (by pressing the Home button). Even launching apps is slower and there are just these multi-second pauses. I had to switch back to Launcher Pro, which is smooth as butter.
