Missing Buddy Widget after ICS Update - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Themes and Apps

Hi,
since i updated to ICS there is no Buddy Widget on my Note.
Have anybody a idea to solve this?
Thx & Rgds
MyPass

Hey...glad i'm not alone with this, i also miss the buddy thing and can't stand the new one with the useless grey bar next to it.
That bar is even more useless cuz i don't use any social media platforms thus that grey bar only displays my contacts name, which i obvious already know...lol....
I found nothing similar in the market, nor am i able to use the old GB widget.
Been on it for a few days then gave up, so i'm curious if anybody has a good alternative or even better...managed to port the old GB one.

Seems to be we are alone ;-(

i´m still searching for a solution or replacement

Why don't you create a shortcut to your contacts?

Yes, the shortcut is possible, but the picture is only the half size in comparision to the buddy widget ;-(

[REQ] Old TF3D Contacts Tab on HTC Sense

Hey Guys,
Yesterday I installed Cookiemonsters HomeTab on my HD2 and it is really awesome, but then I though about what else would be to improve on this phone, and I personally did like the old contacts tab way better than the new one. Is there already a fix I did not find, providing this or is anyone else interessted in something like that?
regards
brandi
If you like the old TF3D look, try GTX Sense.

Here is my HD2 after an hour of setting it up....
I am not looking for the old Iconset or something but i would like to have the old Contacts Tab back, with the contacts on the right side, and the details in the middle, a little like on the email tab..
noone else interested?
I'm certainly interested. I prefer the old style as well.
I am interested as well. I know the newer version is quicker and you can see more people at once, however the old style is alot slicker. I like the ones on Sense for Android as well, especially the Text one. I am hoping someone has the knowledge to do something because I know I don't have the knowledge.

[Q] File-system Access/Ripping Apps

Has anyone got a method for accessing the file-system of a Focus? Or possibly have a method for ripping the built-in apps off the phone? I want to replace the default icons of some of the standard apps. Specifically i want to change the look of the Map icon to a map of my city. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Also, I modified some of the Homebrew App icons and splash screens to feel a little more Metro-ey. If this pisses someone off, please let me know and I'll remove them. I've done a few more that I didnt upload if anyone wants more.
good job!

1st party apps will be a problem I think and not possible on the samsung device so far I believe....
However for 3rd party apps its no problem. You can download the xaps with desktop marketplace dan than just drop the images in the xap. I did this with a few apps who had butt-ugly icons. I just cant stand the look of some of these icons especially not when they are trying to add 3d affects and shining stuff to it
I'm glad to know i'm not the only one. 3D icons don't always look good. Remember a few yers ago when everything had to be glass?
I never got into Pokemon, perhaps because I was a little too old when it came out, but there are two pokemons that I think are awesome. One is Snorlax and the other is your avatar. I won a large stuffed Polywhirl at a fair (my girlfriend at the time was a whiz at skee-ball). Thumbs up to you, sir.

Very nice!
I hate those 3d and shiny icons too. However (for the only program that I use, Wifi settings one) I would rather prefer a big "wireless signal" graph like the one near the wp7 clock that the complex but still better than the original, metro wifi icon you added.
PS: The wifi application shows the old icon in the program list

Much better! but can you tweak just a little bit the icon:
-rotate it -45 degrees
-last small piece is a circle but the sides of the circle are inside the icon
-same image for the small icon
hehe! blended 100% in our phones!
yes will try do that for ya!
Fixed the small icon and threw in a few optional icons like fades bars. Let me know what you think.
Very nice! thanks you both!
I actually unpinned the original wifi app because the icon, but now it's back to my main menu tiles

im limited to design work and the idea is in my head but i need help with someone who knows how to code. heres a rough draft i did a few minutes ago to show an idea of what i want. theres still a lot of features i want to show but i didnt feel the need to put them all in this little sketch video.

Hey, that looks pretty awesome.
Couple of questions though.
1) Is that a widget your intending for the centre of each screen, or is it the only place you can put icons?
2) Is the gap at the top and bottom being reserved for anything?
3) The dock bar at the bottom is showing differant icons on each 'screen'. Intended? Are they screen independant or do differant screens show differant icons?
4) What design reason is that large 'apps' rectangle at the bottom? Is that being filling by something else?

Anyone have the previous version of AP Mobile?

Here is the old, much better version of AP Mobile:
https://market.android.com/details?...NvbS5zZWMuYW5kcm9pZC53aWRnZXRhcHAuYXBuZXdzIl0.
And here's the new one:
https://market.android.com/details?...result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsIm1ubi5BbmRyb2lkIl0.
Anyone know how I can get the old version? I loved it with the widget having a huge picture of whatever news story was going on, as the background image. The new widget is smaller and less interesting.
I'd like to get the old one back. But I sold my phone that it was on and can't download it on my new phone.
edit: the version I want seems to be available again after restoring my phone to stock ROM. It's the default news app on the stock Skyrocket ROM also. And a good one!
you try the included apm widget and maybe resizing it?
Yep, if you resize the widget it just takes up more space. The widget itself doesn't get any bigger.
Plus, it's crashed a few times on me.
Would really, really appreciate if anyone could point me to the .apk for the previous version. Or tell me how to get it back.
Nevermind. I couldn't find it so I downloaded like 15 news apps and tried to find a new favorite. And did!
News360
https://market.android.com/details?...GwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5uZXdzMzYwLm5ld3MzNjBhcHAiXQ..
It's a sweet 4/3 sized page (resizable smaller) widget with huge picture of news story and also lets you cycle through latest stories without ever leaving the widget.
BBC News was my second favorite. Only 2/4 sized & with smaller pics, but shows two stories at once and also lets you cycle through stories w/out leaving the app.

Screw AP News.

[Q] Status Update Widget?

Did a quick search, found nothing to answer my question.
I'm wondering if there's an app, specifically a 4x1 widget, that I can use to update my status on social networking sites. I'm not interested in reading other peoples updates (I'll go into the appropriate app for that); I simply want something akin to the google search bar.
So far the best thing I've found is TweetDeck, but it's far from the prettiest duckling. Before anyone mentions it, 'Simple Status Widget' is a ghastly, low-res pop-up.
If there's nothing knocking around then I guess I'll try my hand at making one
[EDIT] I should say that Google + is a fine, though not quite perfect example of what I seek. I mean, why give me a text box if tapping it only takes me to a new screen?
