I need suggestion for an Indian rom or a custom rom as right now i am using following indian rom with very high usage of ram.
Firmware : 2.3.5
Baseband version : I9003DDKP3
Build number : GINGERBREAD.XWKPG
I want to further root the phone too ifi it is necessary for smoother operation. Please suggest something.
I tried searching but the baseband version and firmware isn't matching with other threads. so if you could just provide the links to the topic or something to help me out.
Thanks
Upgrade to gb 2.3.6
DDKP3
Use XXKPU then Flash CLEANKPU rom
1. download XXKPE XXKPQ and XXKPU here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1004647
follow the guide here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1133787
(flashing XXKPU will be the same as flashing XXKPQ but ing XXKPE its different just follow the guide)
3. Now your in XXKPU, download bagaria.tar
here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1351056
to be rooted. Flash via ODIN in PDA.
4. Once rooted (XXKPU), download cleankpu rom here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1577127 copy to sd card. Then go to recovery mode, install zip then wipe cache.

yes man i am going through the cleankpu rom thread only. will decide which one i should go for?
i have few questions :
1) In the link you provided I9003XXKPU (2.3.6) supposed to be the latest officially realeased rom by samsung.
so cant i directly install or upgrade mine using kies and then do the CF root and then cleankpu??
2) why do i have to flash all the three first as u mentioned? could it be there some issues?
3) Firstly, Download the 2.3.5 firmware from Przekret's thread .........where is Przekret's thread? because in the tutorial he doesnt mention any specific rom....which one to be downloaded from the link you shared for downloading the rom?

thanks for the reply dude, i ll look for that one too
Make sure you follow all instructions and take backups.
1. I think no sir, because your in Indian based rom so you cannot upgrade it in kies, i think DDKP3 is the latest in indian stock rom while in Russia rom if im not mistaken is the XXKPU.
2. You just need to flash the three in case your in different baseband. Just like in your case. Your in indian based stock rom. While XXKPU is in Europe so you need to download it. Cause XXKPU will not appear in kies. Get it?
3. I dont get the question sir. But if you really want CleanKPU. Follow my advice. Pm me if you got prob. I'll reply here in your thread.
Dont worry with using Odin. Its trustworthy. I use Odin3 b.1.85.
EDIT- Russia is in Europe. just clearing out to avoid confusions.
---------- Post added at 08:32 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:21 PM ----------
If i were you sir, just follow correctly my first comment. It wont take 10 minutes to finish flashing. Follow the tutorial in the link ok pal?
XXKPU
I definitely recommend XXKPU its smoother and faster than other stock roms!!!
GO for it!!!
Guys can anyone provide links for following roms as stock roms section has broken links :
XXKPE
XXKPQ
XXKPU
I think ddlf2 has been released for india too....can it be directly updated or follow these three roms and then flash ddlf2 using odin?
Please guide

if your from india u can update to DDLF2 which is the latest version for asia, or u can use odin to flash DDLF2 to ur phone but make sure to use XXKPE as base to avoid future problems..if u want to download stock files u can go to here: sammobile.com create an acct. and there u can dowload stock ROM.

Hello all,
Please bare with me here.
I'm new to this.. and prolly gonna screw up on the questions and get flamed..
anyways,
I've been reading about this ROM, Flashing... and stuff... kinda, didn't get them ( lol ).. but maybe this way it will be clear for me...
anyways,
I read the latest rom thread.. and kind of didn't see mine .. so I'm a bit confused..
I did the latest upgrade on my i9003 from kies so now I have this:
PDA :I9003JPKPE
Phone :I9003JXKP3
CSC c :I9003OJPKPC
above from the *#1234#
Below from about phone
Firmware Version : 2.3.6
Baseband Version : I9003JXKP3
Karnel Version : 2.6.35.7-CL811961 [email protected] #1
Build Number : GINGERBREAD.JPKPE
so mine will be JXKP3 right?
that covers number 1 for me
-----
2nd, I'm kind of interested in trying to mod a rom so If i want to mod my current rom... - if i can - I'll need a special prog. to pack it up and extract it for me?
or I only can download a stock rom and edit it...?
-----
3rd I9003XXKPH .. seems to pop up everywhere I try to read about the i9003.
so it is .. the best rom to mod?
-----
4th my main idea about the mod-rom, gonna be just to change the way it shows to me (theme) and change the status bar... if I dun really misunderstood it...
and remove unused apk that came from samsung...
and replace the ones that I dun like... and already kind of replaced ... from alternatives from the market..
but still my phone kind of ... lag/glitch a bit ..
so I'm looking into this...
that is all I could think of... in these 3mins of writing ....

If you think that LG Flash tool is difficult
my advice to you is to stay in gingerbread because unbricking procedures, base bands..etc are flashed only with flashtool or smart flash.

Appart from that you haven't developed something so this thread should have been posted in general section.

Yes, i gess i´ll be with GB.
I remember when i did that to Froyo to GB it was pure luck, because i thoght it had bricked phone but instead it installed GB baseband and i still had Froyo Rom.
It was a mess.
So is there anyone from Portugal, Porto region that´s capable to upgrade my fair optimus 3d to ICS??? Please??
Thank You
Currently you aren't missing much. GB ROMs and kernels are excellent
Sent from my LG-SU760 using xda app-developers app
Really ?? You think lg flash tool complex ?? You must stay in GB .
If you see lg flash tool is complex then what would you say about kernel developing and roms porting .
And if you want to use ICS you must found a baseband to work with your country. if you will bricke your device you will see lg flash tool something too easy to use .
GB costume roms and kernels is too good try them .

Hello
Finally i got courage and done all procedure of flashing tool upgrade mode and it went all good.
A few tips:
1 - after putting the phone volume up + power it was a little dificult to the computer recognize the phone, don´t worry keep trying it will recognize after a few tries;
2 - also when in lg flashing tool all set, when turn off the phone and wait 5 seconds, if the program doesn't start it´s because the port isn´t configured, you can go to control panel and configure it again to port com41 and it will start flashing automaticaly;
3 - Final, if you get download failure 333 s Red Message, donb´t worry, i waited a few more minutes and turned on the phone and it was all good.
Right now testing Darkrom International.
Cheers

what do you mean by "phone reboot within awhile"? Is it that the phone keep rebooting itself?
well.. I am a newbie too but I have flashed my phone more than 100 times I guess, keep trying on XDA developers' custom ROM (because they are way better than SAMSUNG stock rom)
I think there is no such ROM as most stable or appropriate here, every ROM has its own feature(some might be laggy or buggy though) so the best way to find out which 1 most suit your needs is to test them out. You can read through the threads in Development forum, there are many ROMs there from XDA developers. See some review and comments to find the ROM best suits your needs, and follow exactly the installation guide then you should be able to flash your phone without worry
Im currently using [4.1.2] JellyBam ☄ v3.1.0 [AOKP.CM10.PARANOID] by Lolation, very smooth and kinda good battery life too
good luck flashing~ =)

Hi Naveen,
Please give me some more details, i can try help you.
below are some things that i have done on beganing,
I have flashed rooted Carbon ROM directly that also included CWM.
to flash that rom, i do not correctly remember, but iguess on XDA i have gone through one Thread step by step to root and flash the carbon ROM.
you can find the Carbon ROM OP Thread very easily, just search on Google "Carbon ROm for infuse 4g" and the search result with XDA developers site link -you must click.
This is the ROM that allow you to directly flash the Jellybean 4.2.2 ROM to GB ROM, no need to flash ICS.
and there on the main thread they have given the details step by step to go into CWM recovery mode.
I hope it helps you.
