I used to listen to Radio in Nokia phone without internet connection. Is there similar thing exist in Android world ? I download tunein app, but it requires internet connection. I have Google Galaxy Nexus I-9250

I don't think your phone has a hardware FM radio, so you'll have to get by with music stored on the phone: MP3 files and such.

some phones like mine ive just learned (xperia play) have hardware for fm radio but it isnt implemented for some reason, perhaps nexus does too?

i was wondering, if it is possible to have a radio player on the VOX /S710 phone
im not talking about a gprs radio player that needs to connect to the internet to play the radio stations
im talking about connecting a headphone, and start searching for radio stations like a normal radio.

Impossible.
Reason being is that there is no FM radio hardware in the phone.
Some other hardware models (eg. Nokia, O2 XDA Atom, etc) have an FM radio chip installed where you can do exactly as you want.
I have seen a lot of car radio's that have the option for Pandora Radio. As far as I can tell this only works for iPhones. The radio uses a USB cord and uses your phone to connect to Pandora. Does anyone know if this will be available to Android also or any workaround?
Im using my Nexus 5 to stream Google Play Music (all access) to my Jaguar XF (Meridian system).
I can connect fine, and music streams, but i get the odd 'drop' that lasts for a second or less. There doesnt seem to be a pattern to it. It happens on locally stored music as well as 'streamed' so i dont think its a 'cloud' issue.
Anyone seen anything similar ? i am trying to see if it happens when an email comes in, or an SMS, or some similar issue but i cant spot anything.
Unsure therefore whether its a Nexus 5 hardware issue ? an app issue ? a bluetooth issue ? a Jaguar issue ?

I experience the same thing from time to time. When I first researched the problem, I read that Google Play Music, for some reason, uses a data connection even when playing tracks that are on the device. I then saw that the hiccups occurred only during times when the signal was weak or changing bands. Have you noticed what kind of connection you have when the skipping occurs?
You should trying using another music player. I noticed that skipping issue on GPM on all my car and trucks. I use Power Amp and i have no issues, but i guess if you are streaming directly from GPM thats your only option.
Most definitely happening from streaming instead of playing from the sd card. Even then you have to force the phone to use from Device Only as leaving All Music chosen will still try to stream music you already have on the phone. And even further still if you decide to try to do a random playback list you can't go into the queue and chose a song without being connected to data. It's completely stupid. Not really sure what you could do though seeing as you use the All Access service.

I will try another player to test the theory. it would be a shame if its GPM as I got the £7.99 deal and Im very impressed with it to be honest. particularly as i subscribed on a shared account to wife and kids all get access too
I've never had this happen with my N5 while streaming BT audio using Google Play Music, but I only play On Device music so no data connection is required for me....
signal was weak or changing bands.........

I've only noticed this when I receive some sort of notification and I don't have the device on Silent/Vibrate. But I have noticed that when occasionally streaming that the quality/sound drops and then picks right back up. I'm sure that will have to do with me driving around and it relying on network.
So a little (not at all) touted feature of the EDGE is that it contains an active FM tuner in it that can be used to access radio stations over the air. It is very weird that this is a capability that wasn't promoted as, even though this seems like old technology, the beauty of it is that it is built into the EDGE.
Why would I be so excited about this? Because, when you use iHeart or other radio apps to listen to the radio... it is delayed 30 seconds to 5 minutes or more. Not a big deal if listening to music or even talk radio... but a HUGE deal if you are wanting to listen to the radio announcer of a sporting event.
I like to listen to the radio while attending a college football game. Makes it even more interesting and now I can! BUT! The EDGE (and my home tuner) require that there is a wire connected to act as an antenna... otherwise the reception sucks.
I don't want to use a regular wired headset. I HATE wired headsets.
So the question is: Is there a dongle of sorts that could be plugged into the headset jack, that could act as the antenna without routing the audio through it? Next Radio App allows for rerouting the audio through the speaker but it doesn't also include allowing it to be routed to the Bluetooth.
I guess in writing the above I answered my own question with who I should ask next... Next Radio... but thought I'd still throw this out in case y'all know of another app that can use the internal FM Tuner AND send the audio to bluetooth.

Do you have the sprint model? Usually every carrier in the US except Sprint removes the FM radio to force people to stream instead. Sprint was the only carrier to have an FM radio on the Note 3 as well.

To actually answer your question though, there is an app on the Play Store called SoundAbout. It allows you to force various audio (media, notifications, etc.) to be played through a specific output (Speakers, Bluetooth, etc.). You might give that a shot.

Yes. I have the Sprint model. I'm going to have to now check to see if my Note 3 had the FM active. I didn't think that it was... Hmmm....
I'm going to try out SoundAbout. I just bought the PRO version as it has the BT functionality. Need to run by Radio Shack on the way home to get a short audio cable to plug in as the antenna... will report back... Thanks... again.... jooniloh.

I know this might sound strange, but I would like to use a android device as sort of speaker, which I connect via aux to my Radio, for my android phone.
Why:
I have a beautiful Nokia 8, without root since its not possible. I still would like to use Viper4Android so I must do something creative.
Also I have a nice car sound system + bluetooth/aux radio which I would like to enjoy.
As some of you know the Viper4Android software makes music a lot better than default. To enjoy this I have to use my old rooted device in the car.
That works okay, I can play music and enjoy Viper4Android. However, I need to copy files to this device. I cannot easily stream from internet (because my root-less phone has a simcard and internet) and Flitsmeister or Navigation does not stream to speakers (since I also do this on my root-less phone).
So now I would like to use this rooted old phone as Viper4Android a speaker/ audio relay or whatever you can call it.
Is there software for this? I could not find anything yet, but maybe I use the wrong search terms or just don't know the existance of a nice program which can do this yet.
So my wished/ideal situation:
Rooted old phone with Viper Audio, no simcard , in car. Connected via aux to radio.
And when I enter the car, my daily used Nokia 8 phone connects via Bluetooth or wifi to this phone, detect it as audio device/speaker and plays the music or other phone sounds over this old android device to my radio.
I hope someone can help me. Thanks in advance.
