I installed a stable CM7 mod and yesterday RC3 experimental mod, but I'm having the same issue with either of them and that is: incoming calls speaker volume is always on MAX, if I put it on the lowest setting with buttons it's still on the max volume.
I'm not having this issue with calls that I dial.
please help me out, as everything else works super stable...
thanks in advance

I'm experiencing exactly the same. I believe it's a bug in CM7, but I'm not sure if it happens in predictable way. I'm just trying CM9 Alpha build right now and will tell you if the issue is solved there.

The volume levels for the speakerphone and the ear piece, they just don't match when you switch them back and forth. When you're on the phone making a call, you'd have the volume of the earpiece set to your liking, and at some point you'd want to switch to the speakerphone, I find that the speakerphone to be way too loud. So you turn it down. At some point in your conversation, you'd like to switch back to your earpiece just to find out that its volume to be way too low to hear anything so you turn it up again. This is quite annoying.
Is there an app that allows you to control the volumes for these two operational modes, independently of each other? TIA
I agree with Ted A. This is a real annoyance, and I would love to see some awesome developer fix this issue.
Found this: Audio Control Lite does the trick.

Sweet, this is clutch. I am still testing for various weirdness. So far so good.
Sent from my SCH-I510 using XDA App
I have a few problems that occur on every rom I flash.
1. When ever I make a call or call someone, it uses the speaker phone by default.
2. The Car Home app opens randomly and can be annoying.
3. I cant change the media volume when headphones are plugged in.
- The volume is at it's loudest and there is no way for me to change it.
If anyone could help, it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
I would search and check other threads before opening new ones. There is an ongoing conversation about the speakerphone issue and I believe it has to do with GoSMS. Not going into detail here as like I said there is another thread already developed. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1242116
If your volume is at max then it is at max. Or do you mean since it is at max, you can't lower it? Might also be an issue related to GoSMS. Never heard anyone mention about this before.

Sorry, I searched in the Q&A forum, but I didn't think to search in the General forum. I never used GoSMS so that can't be the problem.
If I plug in head phones and try to listen to music, the volume is always at it's loudest and I cant lower it (tried using volume bottons and in the settings).
I think all these issues have something to do with the Car Home app. Also thanks for your reply.
Edit: I removed the Car Home app from the zip and re-flashed. The media volume problem is fixed now but even though I removed the application, it still says in the notification bar that it's running. And speaker is the default option when I try calling someone.
I have seen people with issues with the car home app. But I can't recall if it was in the inspire section or the desire HD section. Goodluck.
Ok, thanks for trying at least.
The volume when on a phone call is way too loud even at the lowest settings possible.. this is both when using headphone or the phone. I noticed when i tested out CM7 the volume was perfect..its wasnt as loud as the other roms..Im running the latest ei22 Rom. I have been having this issue for a while and any help is appreciated

Setup a Volume during a Call
What type of ROM do you have now?
Depending to your software, I can try to help you...
Do you try to setup volume values in
Settings -> Sound -> Volume ???
and during a call you can try to PUSH the buttons on the right side of cellphone UP and DOWN controls is used to increase/decrease volume...
try this and tell me...
I have tried all sound setting on the phone im running Cronos Ginger X 1.7.0.
Try to test another rom...
Try to put another ROM like as Bravo 1.9...
Cronos does not have more updates... (I used for a few days...)
I test every roms of this forum for XT720 and the bravo does not have very much problems with the phone...
I don't think its the rom this has carried over to every rom i have tried. Stock, cyanogenmod 6.3. I just flashed over to 7.2. Is there a way to increase past where its set now? Speaker might be bad not sure.
Hi all,
I got an issue with my One S and I'm starting to wonder if it's just mine or not, since it's quite annoying but I haven't heard about it from anyone else.
When you are in a call, and using a wired headset (stock one or not, doesn't matter), are you able to change the volume with the volume keys?
On mine, I'm not. The volume slider moves, but it has no effect. The sound is REALLY LOUD and I can't change it. With some people it's almost impossible to use my headset because it is so loud.
Do you also have the same issue?
