SYNCHRONISING

How do I set up my XDA so that the synchronised files folder gets stored on another driver other than the C:\.
I have 2 hard drives on my machine and want it stored on the other one.
Thanks.
it will always sync with the dir you get in my documents
but on a pc you can always change the location of my documents
if you change that to your other disk activesync will sync with that
use tweakui to change the my documents location

Syncing files in custom directories

I'd like to know if it's possible to use ActiveSync (or any other 3rd party add-on, for that matter) to sync files from any location on my host computer's hard drive onto my WM6 Professional device.
I've tried enabling 'Files' in the syncing menu in ActiveSync, but all that does is create a directory in my computer within 'My Documents' which I'm supposed to put the files which I want synced. I need something more than that -- I'd like the ability to say 'ok, I have file x on my computer in directory y... go sync that to my device in directory z'.
Check out http://www.pocketpcfreewares.com/en/index.php?soft=985 which does the job.

Newer versions are commercial but this one (last freeware one) will do the job flawlessly - it can sync data on SD card too.
Thanks guys!

How to sync files on the Polaris with network folder?

Hi
I have the following configuration:
1) Windows Vista Ultimate on a PC connected to a router
2) NAS (QNAP) where I store my important files connected to same router
3) HTC Polaris
What I would like to have is to syncronized the files on the Polaris with the files on the NAS. In Windows Mobile Device Center I can only syncronize to a folder located in the Vista PC.
The problem is that is always difficult to syncronize the files between NAS/VISTA PC/POLARIS all together
Is there a way to directly syncronize the files on the Polaris with the NAS (without having to setup an expensive exchange server)?

You'll have to use something like Easy Sync, or Mighty Sync. You'll also have to install CardExport to export your storage card (assuming thats where you store your files on your TC) so that it shows up as a usb drive under XP/Vista.

The files are not many and in the main storage.
Maybe a registry hack for "windows mobile device center" to choose a folder on a network drive? I'am sure is possible, how though?
With those tools I will not have problems with sync between 3 folders??? (the Polaris, the Vista PC, the network folder)

Windows folder trough exchange?

Hello,
When I connect my HTC to my pc and exchange starts up I get my phone in "Computer" In there I have 2 drivers, my cellphone standard memory and my SD Card...
I wanted to arrange my shortcuts trough my pc but I see there is no Windows folder when I check out the cellphone "drive" ?
Is there something I did wrong or is there another program wich allows me to access it?
Hi there,
From what i gather, you are using the explore part of active sync. In windows explorer you need to enable "show all files" or "show hidden files".
THis way you will be able to see the windows folder and do what you want to do.

Copying Contact From Desktop/Laptop To Andorid is Now Possible

1). Create a new folder on desktop - name = contacts
2). We need all our contacts in .Vcard file. (See below how to get .vcard file)
Now copy this contact folder to your memory card (S.D) of your mobile.
Now go to contacts --- (Android)
click menu button - Import contact from SD card.
All most done !
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
How to get .vcard file.
In Microsoft outlook --- Contacts --- Select 20-30 contacts at a time, right click the mouse -- Select Send full contact ---> In Internet Format (.Vcard)
Now it will open new email. And you will found all .vcard files in attachment just cut and copy it to the contacts folder created at desktop.
But this is the slow option, we have to do it again and again if we have many contacts because it do not send more than 30 contacts at a time.
Something is better than nothing !!!!!
(BUT ON TOP OF THAT YOU SHOULD HAVE CONTACTS SAVED ON YOUR PC OR LAPTOP SO THAT YOU CAN USE THEM TO COPY IN MOBILE.
