Nova Launcher and HTC Widgets - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

Hey everyone,
Just wondering if there's a way to use the Nova Launcher with Sense widgets? I really like the look and speed of Nova but I don't want to give up my weather clock widget. I really like it, lol.
I haven't been able to find any workarounds, so input would be appreciated.
Thanks!
J

Nope. Sense widgets require you to be using sense launcher.

Thanks, sir...I did find this work by Tiffany84:

She remade the HTC sense clock for use with custom ROMs/launchers...
Looks great!

sense weather and clock widgets are the best for me..
if anyone can make them working on 3rd party launcher would be super great.
maybe it's not even possible..

[Q] Background Sense 3.0

I use Flikie HD Wallpapers, it's a very nice program for HD backgrounds and almost all background have the function to scroll to the left or right.
Now i know this is not possible in Sense 3.0 because the sliding never stops. So every background with that slide function don't know when to stop the picture so it just shows the middle.
Is it possible to change this, with example the Fre3vo temp-root ? Or do we need to wait at a ROM builder or Fre3dom ?
Thx!

Nobody knows anything about it ?
Nope, you can't do that. Only possible with another launcher.
The Sensation has an HTC Live Wallpaper called "Streak" that has somekind of infinite movement (rotation) when going from screen to screen. I geuss someone should find a way to make something similar!
Try a different launcher. I am using GoLauncher Ex and it works quite well. I think it looks better than the Sense launcher as well.

Will the phone become slower when you use GoLauncher, i want to use it only i think it is a bit double, the heavy Sense 3.0 and the GoLauncher. I am definitily waiting for the perm root so that our great cookers can make a stripped ROM without Sense 3.0 I think were almost there!

Nope, the phone is more responsive when using another launcher. Try it
Swyped from my HTC Sensation
Definitely try any other launcher. You won't be disappointed at all. I personally flip around between Launcher PRO Plus, Go Launcher, and Launcher7.
For the time being at least, anything other than Sense that you use will allow your Sen4G to pep up quite a bit. But who knows what'll happen when we get a new FOTA to fix some of our standing issues.

adding new launcher kills Sense, just an FYI

Well Sense is not available while you are using a different launcher. It's not really dead.

Go launcher kills sense. Using it right now its above and beyond speed wise and the go widgets are fantastic.

I think we misunderstood (maybe just me?) your original statement that any other launcher "kills sense" in that, at least for me, I thought you meant any other launcher would bring Sense to its knees......meaning Sense was speedier than all the other launchers.
Turns out you were saying what we were albeit from a completely different direction.
Or maybe I'm misunderstanding yet again.....it has in fact been a long day for me.

Sense widgets in other launchers

I'm completely new to Sense (upgraded from a mt3g and avoided any roms that included anything related to Sense since it would've killed me on ~600MHz or so). I really like my Sensation with ADW Ex and was wondering, short of custom roms is there any way to use Sense widgets in ADW?
Sorry for the newb question, I tried to figure it out using Google but only came across links talking about "Sense-like" replacements. I'm curious if there's any way to extract the actual Sense widgets and reuse them.
Peace,
- bez
I think LauncherPro Plus has widgets that are similar to Sense widgets, but I'm not sure.

Thanks, I'll give LauncherPro a spin.. but I've seen a lot of "similar-to" replacements already that don't quite cut it; are the actual HTC widgets baked into Sense with no way to use them outside of their launcher?
I doubt that there is a way to access the Sense widgets from any launcher other than Sense?

There is NO way of using Sense widgets outside of Sense - it's been covered a million times before
You can find a million replacement widgets and use them on a better launcher like ADW EX. Which ones are you looking to use?

Try Colorize Widget.

Horrible advice is horrible.
ADW is **** anyway, every other launcher I've used has a slight lag switching screens. I'll be sticking with Sense

not so horrible.. just fact... he mentioned that he was used to stock android and started using adw.. at some point he got himself use to it and grew to like it.. so why can't he make himself do the same thing with sense....
Just not enough options with sense launcher, for me. Also i experience lag that I don't with go launcher or launcher pro plus, and pro has a sense skin that makes the widgets look like sense if that's what your after. With go launcher I use colorized widgets as posted previously

ADW EX is the most fully-featured and customizable launcher out there. You actually need to learn how to set it up though, so that probably turns a lot of newbs away.

true that may be, but I can't take the non responsiveness the first 5 Secs or so when trying to swipe between pages. Been the same for me, nexus one, mt4g, and now sensation

Never had that problem, personally.
I solved this by getting used to Sense for normal use and chilling with ADW whenever I wanted to appreciate how fast this phone could be... Like the Sense widgets, hate the launcher.

Isn't the point of getting an HTC phone is for sense?
have you try Go Launcher EX?

Launcher Pro VS Rosie

Never used Rosie, don't even know where to find it..
I bought launcher pro about a year ago, and finally after getting my phone up and running again, I put it back on..
I'm running Synergy now... any reason I should run Rosie over Launcher Pro?
Rosie is the stock sense launcher, so the benefit is the ability to run sense widgets.
Thanks.. I think Launcher Pro is better for the many options..
Gonna stick with that.. thanks again!

Almost anything that LP can do, a themer can make Rosie do. Just to let you know. One impossible thing is the 5-app dock, except for the latest sense Rosie from the flyer.
However, the on-the-fly options that LP offers is very nice.
I prefer the other launchers' docks but love the sense widgets.....sense it is.
Love the smoothness of sense but hate the clutter of icons. Was using go launcher for a while but now back to sense. What is this newest rosie with docks "Tommytomatoe" is talking about?
I use Launcher Pro and Folder Organizer. Sure, I don't have as many widgets as with Sense (Rosie). The few I wanted, I could find in the market.
I like being able to create folders, and scrollable widgets. I can all more rows and columns, adjust the size of widgets, and have up to seven home screens. Although I don't use it, you can have up to three or five docks.
Here is a video capture of LP and FO running on Cyanogenmod 7

I believe Tommy was saying the one thing LP can do that he can't make Sense do, is have 5 buttons on the dock. However, the Sense that is on the Flyer/Express tablet DOES have 5 buttons. (And I sure wish to god someone would make THAT Rosie flashable )

sense 3.6 wthout carousel ?

Imagine how smooth could sense 3.6 be with flat scrolling screens, like in sense 2.1. Dear devs, is it possible to turn carousel off?

You cannot use sense launcher without the carousel... However why use sense if you don't want it Haha? I would suggest using a sense ROM with a 3rd party launcher such as NOVA launcher, which will allow you to pick the transition animation =)

I'm using pixel 2 launcher, is really fast
I've always admired the look of the windows phone ui and have gone through tons of windows phone launchers over the years. I've been using SquareHome 2 and I'm just amazed at how customizable it is.
Have always used Nova as Sense was not too good on all my previous HTC phones but I gave it a good try for a couple of days on the HTC U12+.
But quickly installed Nova again and it made this phone even more awesome.
Shame really, Sense has improved immensely and is quite usable now but Nova is just better, quicker and more configurable.
Only thing I miss is Blinkfeed.
I have a fully configured Nova set up on mine, but I go back to Sense most of the time simply because the lockscreen's dock icons don't match when I use Nova, and as far as I know, I can't edit the lock screen.

I know on my HTC 10 the screen lock icons are the same as the icons in the dock of the Sense home screen. So you just need to adjust them there and then revert to Nova Launcher.

Oh no, I knew that. I meant more that the icon theme I'm using in Nova doesn't carry over to the lockscreen.

different theme engine unfortunately.
nova all the way. Google now still works on a slide from left. Widgets still work with google now. More customizable and themeable. Working great so far.
