Case mate barely there - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

Does anyone have this case? On amazon it doesn't specify whether it fits the international one x or our one x. However, on case mates website it says for one x/XL. I'm guessing that it fits both then? Can anyone else confirm for me?

I have it and it's pretty awesome and fits perfect. If you look at other cases you'll see that the speaker opening is a bit too tall and the camera hole too high...Well this case has the speaker opening that's kinda too tall but the camera opening is centered perfectly.
I would post pics but I'm at work right now...will edit when I get home

My only gripe is that the case shows finger oils quite readily. You're either gonna need to rub pretty thoroughly with a microfiber cloth or use a bit of water. The texture is very similar to the plastic on the phone itself, though a bit softer feeling. Definitely feels good in the hand.

i like incipio feather better since it covers a little more on the edges..

I do like the feather, I probably would've gotten it over the barely there if it was available when I had to make the decision

Does the Barely There cover up the camera, like if you set it down will it keep the camera from getting scratches?

I've had the same question. The images provided in Case-Mate website is not clear. I was not able to decipher whether it will cover up the camera. No company would make cases that will expose the camera that will not provide any protection, right??

Wrong...read my post right above yours...I will provide a snapshot of the camera from the side when I get home and settled. ETA 7:30pm EST

Here's a picture of how much the camera sticks out. Like I said, it's like barely anything, but barely anything is still something.

yep ^^^^ I didn't even leave mine on. I had the white version. just a damn shame of poor design. aesthetics over protection in this case. It doesn't serve its true purpose.

Looking forward to trying this case out. I just want it for keeping the phone clean. A friend just had a zag and although it looked nice it got really dirty. Looks like mud now lol so I need a case and I think this looks good.

What I've been doing is to just keep my phone in my pocket as much as possible and avoid hard surfaces. If I'm eating lunch and watching a video or reading news or something, I'll just plop a soft napkin on the table and rest the phone on that. Kinda solves the camera lens sticking out thing. Just kinda.
As to the lens sticking out, it's to such a minuscule amount that at first I thought that somehow if you placed it on a table the natural curve of the phone might somehow lift the top of the phone up just enough that the lens doesn't touch the table.
Nope.
I visually confirmed this by letting the phone rest on the edge of my desk and looking at it from the side to see exactly where the phone touches the desk. The lens does touch the desk.
Unfortunately, I did this at work and somebody walked past my cubicle as I was crouching on the ground staring at my phone from 2 inches away. I felt kinda dumb. ):

When I look at my phone there's a metal ring around the edge of the camera that is just barely raised above the camera's glass. This means that putting the camera down there's no way for the glass to touch the surface the phone is sitting on unless the surface has a bump right where the metal lip stops and the glass begins. Even if you raised the bottom of the phone so the camera portion was parallel to the surface that slight ridge would keep the camera glass from touching the surface unless the surface bulged upwards to touch the glass that's elevated by the ridge (if even by a hair's width).
Do your phones not have the slightly raised ridge or something?

Seidio Active X Case Black Review UPDATED - 50+ pics

Will be doing a thorough review on the Seidio Active X Case, including some tests for durability. Pictures will be included.
Providing the Basics today along with a few photos, will run the case through a series of test for durability and use this weekend. More pictures to come!
My apologies if a couple pics don't look so great Camera was giving me issues.
Intro:
Well Just received the Seidio Active X case today and I have to say I was surprised. You are provided with three pieces. Outer Screen protector, a rubber back skin, and then a Plastic Skeleton to go over the rubber back piece. Installation was breeze and this case is easier to remove due to the design of the Plastic Skeleton. Outer Screen protector is pretty simple to remove but having finger nails will benefit greatly! Another thing to note: Since the Skeleton is a separate piece, changing colors will be simple ( if you wanted to could even paint it! ). Sliding Mechanism was not affected at all.

Design:
Outer Screen protector
Outer Screen Protection Piece does have a taller lip and it is a little thicker but feels strong. With the taller lip I didn't find any affect or issues with comfort on the use of the screen or buttons. The finish is smooth with a rubbery feel, and yes you may find that one or two little bumps within the finish - (If you really want to remove the bumps in the finish then use 1500 or 2000 wet sand paper and very Lightly go over the bumps. Make sure to wet the paper - this will allow you to keep the finish). The tabs are located on both the top and bottom of the piece and sectioned in the middle ( view pictures above ). -- This is nice since the most common issue with cases is scratching or restriction due to the tabs being placed on each side.
Rubber Skin:
IMO - I love this! Provides protection for the phone without the possibility of the case scratching the phone itself. Both the Power and Volume buttons are covered but fit the form of the phone and require the same amount of pressure to be pushed. As for the cut outs - Match perfect- Mic, USB, Headphone, Camera, and LED, and if by chance yours does not you can also trim whatever excess you need to since its rubber.
Back Skeleton:
The back Skeleton has a very smooth finish with no bump in sight. The skeleton itself is very sturdy along with the clips located on each corner. Now the design was to set for most common point of Impact. On any phone there are 6 points - Top Left and Right Corner - Bottom Left and Right Corner - Left Side - Right Side. The Skeleton was designed around these 6 points of impact along with using the rubber skin interior as a shock absorber. The skeleton Case Wraps around on each point which in truth allows for a sturdier construction due to each point of impact being supported both by form and curvature.
I will provide pics of the phone within the case once the Camera is charged.

If you can assure me that this product 1. Does not look as rough around the edges as in the pictures on the website 2. Allows me full functionality of the keyboard (slides open *duh*, doesn't hinder ability to use top row number buttons) 3. Is durable and well made enough to justify spending $29.95 on a case, then I will glady purchase it. Question: Is there any way you could get pictures different angles of the case for example the top and bottom with keyboard open/closed, I am seriously interested as long as I can have some good information to go off of.

Any information any user provided I sent off to seidio for development of the active x case that way they can attempt a perfect case. I'm not sure but I think the color plate is switchable which would be a nice option.

Sadly ALL of the Active cases are like that.
On the Nexus and Evo active cases, the rubber has lots of extra bits, and the ports aren't perfectly cut.
On the Evo, the plastic shell doesn't fit perfectly around the rubber skin, and has a bit of a gap.
You can take a exacto blade and remove the uneven edges if you want.

That's disappointing to hear, how could they expect me to pay that amount for such bad quality? When we get some detailed pictures I will have a better idea of the quality, but until then all indicators point to a poor quality product.

Seidio is currently the best quality case out there for the epic but it ISN'T any OtterBox or even CaseMate.
The plastic exoshell on my friends Evo has been shedding since she purchased it. Little bits of plastic come off the shell just from having it in her pocket.
Seidio is not worth the price of the product, quality wise. But when there is literally nothing else on the market, what else can ya do?

Not hard at all, just grab a corner and pull away slightly and should come right off.
Still not sure I can justify paying $30 for a case vs. $2 I paid for my ebay one. I'm sure quality is very different, but I feel like the level of protection I get from my ebay one (which I guess we are referring to as the "bar" kind from that other review) is adequate enough. It feels good in the hands too. I'll wait to see pics of this when you have everything fully assembled. I'm wondering how thick it gets with 3 pieces.
Updated More pics
How much more thickness does it add. Is it still pocketable? obviously it'll be thicker but pictures and actual hands on is always a differant story. Thanks!
I want to know does it fits in the media dock?

Just a tad thicker really, add maybe 1mm if that IMO. Fits in the pocket no issue at all, and the case finger groves are perfect, ambidextrous. Also the lip around the Face Protection of the case has more depth.

Seidio Innocase Review (BLACK)

I have just received my Seidio Innocase (Black) after having a very hard time deciding on buying it or the Active-X case. I will be stealing betatechs format for review, and add additional observations of my own. His review of the Green Innocase can be found here.
Seidio Innocase Epic 4g (BLACK) Review
First Impressions:
The case feels very smooth in your hand, and does add a fair amount of grip. I personally liked the feel of the stock battery cover myself, but this is a pleasant case to hold. As betatech pointed out on the green case review, all buttons and ports are completely accessible.
Installation and Removal:
I had no problem popping this bad boy onto the phone. Both the front and back went on without any effort. Removing the bottom half of the case is very easy, and the main reason for that is that the bottom portion of the case has “play” or space for it to move around a bit. The top bezel on the other hand, you have to be very delicate, as the tabs on it are not as thick, and appear like they are easier to break. For example: My girlfriend has a palm pre Innocase and she has had to have it replaced twice due to tab failure. The tabs on the epic case are thicker, but could use a locking mechanism.
Apperance:
Below are some pictures, side by side, of the phone and the case, you can see that it adds minimal bulk to the phone. I was quite impressed. The black complements the phone perfectly, looks very pleasant, and not out of place.
Sliding Mechanism:
Before applying the case I did have some “screen wobble” and after apply the case there is less screen wobble, but it is not completely gone. As betatech points out, the tabs are mounted in the corners, so they do not touch the keyboard. I actually had a scratch on one of my keys from the stock sliding mechanism making the screen slightly touch the keyboard and with the case one I feel it slightly increases the gab to stop that. The snappiness of the sliding mechanism is still there, although it takes a smidge more effort than before to open the phone, in my opinion a good thing.
Notable Problems/Testing Observations:
As I hinted above, The back portion or battery portion of the case is very loose. I can jiggle the phone in my hand and hear it click as it hits the top and bottom of the case. This could be just a problem with the case I have received, but I have seen other people mention similar looseness with the back of the case. Seidio also did not place a felt liner on the back portion of this case, as they do with other cases ie: nexus one, nor did they include a felt liner insert ie: palm pre. I believe a felt liner would improve the case looseness problem, and find myself upset that they did not do so. My best guess is because they could have felt that the stock battery cover is scratch resistant itself so perhaps it was not needed. I would beg to differ.
Due to the rubber texture that is sprayed onto the case, I do find it more difficult to pull out of my pocket. It seems to get stuck on the inner lining. This is not a problem, just an observation. I enjoyed the ease of pulling out the stock phone from my pocket, but feel much better knowing there is a case protecting it and completely willing to give that up.
I have a Realook screen protector on my epic, and the front bezel of the case, hides the small outer line of the screen protector perfectly, it is impossible to tell there is one even applied until you look around the speaker, where you see the line there.
As of durability I would suggest reading betatechs section on that. I have had the black innocase on a nexus one, and after a few months or so the rubber started to peel in one spot, which grew larger. I can only assume that the same is quite possible for this case.
Concluding Remarks:
So far I do like the case a lot and feel much better knowing there is something to protect it. I am worried about the life of the rubber material that is sprayed on the case. The back cover jiggle also concerns me, but can be remedied by placing a piece of folded paper in the rear of the case, or eyeglass cleaner cloth.
Pictures are posted below, and if there are any questions feel free to ask. I am hopeing on reviewing the Active-X blue case next, or the otterbox case, whichever one comes first.

Looks almost identical to the Sprint case that I have, except the back of the one from Sprint is checkered.
Ill go by the sprint store and compare thickness, texture, and clip positions when I get a chance this week. I think its thiner though from the last time I looked at that case.

I have been using this case for 2 weeks now, and I have zero complaints! I bought a screen protector with Seido as well, and both products are great! Well worth the money. Before that I had purchased a ZAGG InvisibleShield until I found that Seido had released their case. The ZAGG shield is thick/bulky, and not very easy to install. I highly recommend this Seido case.
What made you decide on this over the Active-X? I'm debating that choice myself but haven't really found a good way to make a comparison.

Well, the tabs for the top portion of the case are much thinner, meaning you have to be more careful not to just pry, or they could break off more eaisly than the bottom half of the case. There is also very little play or gap on the top half or bezel of case compared to the battery half of case, so it is harder to get a fingernail under the clips. The third reason, one clip, on each side of the top bezel is easy to get to while the other, on each side, clip is underneith the keyboard section, so its hard to unclip it without prying, which might break it. If you don't have fingernails and are not very gentel, I think it would be super easy to break.

the bottom left tab first then the bottom right. Super fast and easy provided you have a thumb fingernail.

Removing the case is easy! Its best to take the back cover off by pulling it off from the top of the phone, then pull off the original back cover.

Excellent post. and an excellent product, but i'm not a fan of cases. if anyone is interested in a maroon seidio case for the epic. please pm me. i've also posted in the marketplace.
I think the case will scratch the phone after time being that there is no felt lining inside of the case. I just took epic out of its case and noticed some light rubbing marks after about 3 weeks. I feel a lot more confident with the active x case I have now
I love seidio cases. However, after using the Innocases made for slider phones (like this one for the Epic, or the similar one for the Pre), i noticed that the parts without felt would scuff the phone after awhile, and eventually the tabs do break off. That said, Seidio has always been good about replacing every case of mine for free where tabs have broken off, no questions asked.
Don't like it..it fits too lose and creeks and left a few scratches on the top portion of the phone
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
I have the black case too for my epic. It feels pretty good in the hand, but I have to add another nods to this:
The back part of the case definitely doesn't fit very tight for me. It is loose enough to slide a little, and on a phone which already likes to wobble a bit it feels odd now and then.
Also yes - you can press a finger lightly in the middle of it near the flash, and it makes a creaking sound as it flexes.. very annoying.
I tried folding a small piece of paper to put inside too, and even a very thing pieces seemed to make the case not fit correctly at the clips so I don't think it is correctable.
Overall it isn't that big a deal - apart from that minor annoyance the case looks and feels good to me. It does make the phone a lint magnet though, I am always blowing aroudn the front lip to get dust off after it rides around in a pocket for awhile. Any case does that tho, especially textured ones..
Placing paper behind it worked for me, I had to play around with the thickness of the folded paer to get it right. And yea it sure does attract lint, I find it attracting the lint to my screen way more than if the phone did not have the case on it. So I'm having to cleen the screen way more often.

Yes, I don't like the color but pretty cool design. I wish they had the same in black
The kickstand thread had the link to an ebay seller which had this and two other colors, neon friggin green and some other out there color lol. No basic black at all from the ebay seller anyways. The seller sold it for like 30usd IIRC. Too expensive for one of these types of cases IMO but for 12 bux I may get one. lol
EDIT: Got the green one and also a 'white' cover. Pretty cheap too! Will post pics and also mini first impressions when received. Most likely within a week or two.
thanks you OP. FINALLY something to contemplate. much appreciated.

Nillkin kickstand case
Just got this in today and slapped it on and took a few pics. The case is like the barely there cases with a slide out kickstand built in. The build is good for 10 bux and the green is ok. It's almost android green so it works for me LOL....
Putting on the case was like putting on the barely there case. Taking it off is the same. Now using the kickstand....well....it's a hit or miss. You can't really use it in portrait, and I am not sure it's supposed to be used that way. That's because the bottom is exposed so the curve of the phone makes it rock back and forth slightly. Now the beauty of this is the portrait mode. This works the best and most stable.
As for flipping the kickstand out, you just take the bottom part and pull straight out. And that's the easy peasy part. Just pull until you past the notch to 'lock' it in place. However, for me, to put away and fold up the kickstand is a bit of a pain. There should be some sort of press release to push the tab that initially locked the kickstand down so that the stand can fold back easy. I just press the track down and push the kickstand to fold. It's scary to do but is the best way I found to fold.
Edit: also note that this case came with a screen protector as well, but I have the HTC one on so now I have a spare if needed.
UPDATE 8/25/11: One thing I found on the Nillken case is that if you use your OEM charger which is pretty bubbly at the connection to the phone; the cable does not seat very well. However, I am using craigsdocks.com's dock and that aftermarket charger cable has no 'bubble' at the end so that seats into the case rather easily with a little filing down at the opening. Just a fyi for all who are looking at this case.
Anyway, here are the pics...

That case actually looks really nice. I'm unexpectedly a fan of the green. Might have to shell out a few bucks to get one of these (even though I just ordered the Case-Mate Tough Case).
Great pictures, kpjimmy!
That's a nice case, I like it. I thought that the green was going to be much brighter but it's a really nice color actually, I might order one just to have one around
Thanks for the review and the pictures, man.
My wife has a case just like this for her myTouch 4G except it's clear. Fits really snug to her phone and I like how it hardly adds much bulk at all.
She actually got hers directly from the tmobile store though.
--- Correction... it's actually the myTouch 4G Body Glove Protector. Looks the same though even down to the kick stand. It just has rubber sides for gripping. Take a look for yourself. http://www.t-mobile.com/shop/AddOns...4253-85e0-1bf1e4506a5e&inCart=True&catCode=-1
You notice they hardly released any cases for the sensation.

Wow, that green does look pretty good, haha.
Here's an update: The 'correct' way to unfold the kickstand as per nillkin's site. This didn't come in with the instructions so I am glad I did it right! lol

8/26/11 Update
Just to let you all know that the plug cut outs are a bit off. The volume rocker I do not care too much with, but the rocker is close to the case and not centered. But that could be just so you wouldn't accidentally hit it.
However the plug port is in fact a nuisance. I had to take out an sharp knife (exacto knife is preferred) with a small slim blade and slice away at it like cheese lol. Then filed/sanded the area a bit to smooth it out and now all my usb cords plug in fine oem or not.
Off topic a bit
Along with the kickstand case, I also got a tpu like case. Here it is listed in the market if anyone wants it for cheap.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=17011817#post17011817
I purchased one of these but doubt I'll get any more.
Inside the package is a diagram of how to open the kick stand and still it was hard to pull out. Then putting it back I accidentally put a crease in the stand. It's just too hard to move in and out without damaging it. I also don't like that the case does not cover the top or bottom at all. If it had a squared off bottom it could be used for portrait mode. But the way it has nothing on the bottom, the slightest touch causes it to tip when in portrait mode. I don't even know why they show the device in portrait in their advertisements.
It's a very nice concept, but it still needs a little work to be really good.
Also, they include a lent free cloth in the package, in addition to that screen protector .
They do give you a lot for the price though.
I think it would be perfect if they used their TPU case for the body covering. (With a flat bottom for portrait.) And a kick stand that was also TPU or didn't snap so rigidly into place. So it would be a little easier to open and close the kick stand.
As for the colors, I got a golden one. It actually looks like a blend of brown and gold. The case is not as BRIGHT as the pictures. They are not as obnoxious in the actual color when you actually have one. The advertising seems to put a bright spot light on them, to make them appear brighter than they actually are.

I tend to agree with you on this. As for the track, I have to litterally take the case off and retract the stand. Otherwise you would likely break something lol.
For the price, not too shabby. Build quality the case 4 stars, kickstand concept 4 stars, however, using it is way to difficult= 2 stars. Overall rating for me is a good 3 stars.

I just got mine and to correct the problem with the retraction while the phone is inserted, I pulled the kickstand back a little more (not much) to shave the angle piece down a little (the ridge portion) into more of a triangular shape. Now it retracts while the phone is inserted on still locks into place when pulled out.

Looking For A Case For Your Skyrocket?

I found this case on amazon.
(Since I'm a new user I'm not allowed to post outside links)
But you can find it under the name of "Diztronic Matte Back Black Flexible TPU Case for Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket". Its only $9.90 with free shipping. It has a soft smooth back side which adds a little grip the already slippery back. The only downside for me (might not be a problem for you) is that the volume rocker becomes a more sensitive again that might not be a problem for you.
As soon as I get a chance I will take pictures of the case on the phone as well as off the phone so you guys can see. And I'll update the link when i pass the post limit
Hope this helps!

The gloss black version of that case was one of the first Skyrocket cases ever sold. It's a good case. A few reviews are here on the forum. But post up your pics anways, can't ever have enough pics.
I probably should've checked to see if they already had reviews on it. But yeah hopefully tomorrow I can take the pictures. It looks pretty cool with the white SK.

I used that case til I got my Seidio surface combo. I really liked it. Easy on, easy off, matte finish made it slip in and out of pocket easily. It even fit in my Seidio holster.
The only thing I didnt like about it was the gloss lip around the front, while it looked good, it grabbed pocket lint and made it build up on the screen around the edges.
Good case though. And for less than $10 cant complain much.
Here's a link to the one I bought off eBay.
Yeah that's probably the only other problem I have. But it doesnt really bother me much. A quick wipe with my shirt or something and its gone

I hate the caps though. I'd want to rip them all off.
Does it look flakey or "broken" with the cap removed? Like it's obvious that something used to be there and is now missing?
Or does it look okay?
Any chance you could post a macro picture of where the cap broke off?
Didn't had the issue with breaking that part of.

Yeah I love this case.. It gives me a awesome looking white touch to it, without the whole phone being all white. Personally think it is ugly when the front is white too. I like the back white. The black and white makes it look very nice. People always asked, but what is that for a phone? Is the Skyrocket *****es lol

Hey guys, just got this phone today, well yesterday now I guess. Anyways, I was looking at this Ringke case and I was wondering if in fact it does have the weird cut out on the top corner? I keep seeing it in the product pictures and I cant figure out why it's there.

First two pics are the top headphone cap on and off, last pic is bottom of the phone with the usb cap broken off.
The cut out is because the Japanese version has a antenna for watching TV and it is right on that corner. Look it online and it also has that ugly hardware button in the front instead all touch buttons.

Thanks for the pics.
Looks just fine with the cap ripped off.
I like that the buttons for volume & power are open.
The only thing I don't like about the TPU case is that it has a cover over the volume buttons.
The nice thing about that is the power button is open, so it's easy to know what end is up when you're grabbing the phone while it's in your pocket.

Close but not quite right.
It's because of the Korean version's DMB (digital multimedia broadcasting - i.e. mobile TV) antenna.
By the way, many prefer the physical center button over the capacitive variant offered in the US.
Thanks I was close. Thanks you for clearing this exactly up. I appreciate it.

Remove CWM Recovery

I would like to exchange my current HTC One M8 for another M8 through Verizon (because I have been noticing that the glass is not entirely flush), however I am weary of doing so with CWM Recovery still on the device. I understand how to remove permanent root (SuperSU settings allow for this), though since this is my first HTC device, I am not entirely sure how to proceed from here (get the stock recovery back). Can I just flash the recovery.img from this thread through ADB, or will this brick my device? Thanks in advance for your help.
Quick question, what glass are you talking about that is not flush?

he is probably talking about the entire screen. the time i read that. i remember feeling mine.
the part where the screen touches the metal towards the speakers, mine is lower on the right side than the left (gun metal grey m8)
its not a big deal for me, but im pretty sure this is what he is talking about

Yep, @JWhetstone02 is correct. The glass sections directly above the top and bottom front facing speakers of my device are raised in comparison to the glass covering my LCD. It wasn't enough to originally notice when I first opened and began using the device, but now that my screen protector has finally finished adhering, it is definitely noticeable (the raised portions are lifting the screen protector off of the glass). It wouldn't have been that big of a deal if both sections were equally raised, however they are not; the top right portion is higher then the top left portion, and the bottom left portion is flush while the bottom right portion is raised.
Despite all this, I still stand by the fact that the HTC One M8 is THE BEST constructed device I have ever had the pleasure of using.
EDIT: I actually considered sending in the device under the HTC Advantage Free Glass Replacement clause, however I don't want to take the risk that when I receive my device is may be no better off then when I sent it in. At least at the store I can confirm that the glass portions are all flush.
Mine is the same way too. Even the one on display was like that I'm just saying returning it I don't know if the new one will be any better, let us know

I tried to circumvent the launch devices by ordering mine after the a couple days after the official launch, because of all the issues I heard the original HTC One had, but apparently I either didn't wait long enough, or the even more unfortunate scenario that the majority of M8's are like this.

Worse comes to worse, I would rather have the separation and my entire screen covered... With such a nice looking device, I would hate myself if I scratched some portion of it. When I purchased the device, there were no screen protectors or cases at any of the Verizon stores near me, so I left my device unopened until the Skinomi Techskin and cheap TPU case I ordered arrived from Amazon. Further, after dropping and cracking my previous Galaxy S3, I am not taking any chances with this phone.
Ignore...

With the latest Gorilla glass i don't think screen protectors are even needed. Up until my last phone, samsung note 2, I always used a screen protector. Didn't use one on my note and never got a scratch on it. Granted i'm somewhat anal about my phone but never had an issue. Now on my
m8 i don't have one. I don't think its needed.....If it keeps lifting due to screen then ditch it.

Fix for uneven glass.
Otterbox Defender.
http://www.otterbox.com/Defender-Se...default,pd.html?start=1&cgid=htc-one-m8-cases
The good:
The clear plastic sheet covers the entire glass eliminating the problems OP mentioned.
It protects the phone probably better than any other case.
The kickstand feature allows me to use it as my bedside alarm clock.
The bad:
It's costly.
It makes a very big phone MUCH bigger!
It's slow to get on and off.
The ugly:
Otterbox Defender is an UGLY case IMHO.
I wouldn't be without it! It took a day or two to get used to it but I really like it now.

But you'll need a case of some kind for protection, won't you?
I don't know of any case that's as nice looking as the phone, I'd like to not use a case myself but my previous phone had a small problem (I could salvage the SIM and the SD card, the screen, digitizer, motherboard, etc. were completely destroyed so.... I know the case is ugly but I'm sticking with it!
As always, YMMV.
idk if this gives you any hope, but mine is flush on both ends... and if you're still looking for the stock recovery img, try reaching out to a dev. Try @andybones
