Best browser for HC tabs? - Android Apps and Games

Hey. I own the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 with stock Honeycomb 3.2
I have tried several browsers: Dolphin for Pad beta, Opera, Maxtheon...
Dolphin crashes and some link doesnt open, Maxthon is nice but crashes too.
Opera is the most stable but I dont like its UI.
Any suggestions?

I always found Stock Honeycomb browser to be the best on my Transformer.
I don't know if an ICS upgrade is available for your Tablet, because Google Chrome is just Awesome.
Cheers.

[Request] Switching tabs in stock Browser

I use Dolphin Browser however I really like the stock Browser since to me it feels snappier than Dolphin.
The only reason I keep using Dolphin is the smart way it allows me to switch tabs by swiping in the direction of the next tab. Is this something already implemented in any of the custom ROMs? Would it be possible to implement a similar mechanism on the stock browser?
Thanks for your replies.
Nope, this is not currently implemented.... in the CyanogenMod at least and I have not used any other custom ROM. That is a great feature of the Dolphin browser and hopefully the stock browser will one day "borrow" it.

Yeah definitely - I really don't use gestures that much so tab-switching is the Only thing that keeps me going back to Dolphin...

Has any one tried Dolphin mini as me?

Recently, my current default browser, Dolphin Browser HD got a new little brother----Dolphin Browser Mini. Although HD works fine on my phone, it is a little laggy for it has so much powerful features. And this Mini one claims itself being light and fast, I decided to take a shot at it.
It is really much faster than HD with its cleaner and more elegant UI. I could quickly access various settings in menu. As for the features, although they are much like HD’s----actually even less powerful than HD( mostly due to lacking of add ons), it does have something different in some aspects. Such as its speed dial page, adding labels to bookmarks, unlimited tabs and ect. . And its new select text is also very sweet. However, the only thing I shall complain about it is that it could not import bookmarks from HD. Or I may replace HD with it. Cause I really love its fast speed.
I am still waiting for those guys improving dolphin. Either improving the speed of HD or adding more features to Mini would be great!
Mini is my new favorite browser

Whoa, I didn't think any browser would be faster than Dolphin HD.
I also like the "Google Chrome" like start page (speed dials). It also has a much cleaner look.
Installed and using it now,
Thanks!
I was using dolphin HD before I tried dolphin mini. Dolphin mini is really much faster! Now it is my favourite browser

How does Dolphin compare to Firefox beta?

firefox was terrible the last time i used it, haven't gone back since switching to Dolphin HD, gotta try out the mini now
I've tried Skyfire, Miren, Firefox, and prefer Dolphin over the rest.
I tired HD for a day and thought it was okay, but it wasn't to my liking vs Opera Browser(Mini before that) and stock at the time. Then I tired Dolphin Mini and was so impressed I uninstalled Opera and almost exclusively use Dolphin Mini. The only thing I miss from stock and other browsers I tried is the ability to type in stuff(with my hardware keyboard) without tapping on the address bar.
I used to use Dolphin HD, then I switched back to stock, but now I'm hooked on Dolphin Mini, I get the speed of the stock browser, with the features and tabbed browsing of its bigger brother (Dolphin HD) It's the best of both worlds....(hannah montana theme song, anybody?)
To me it's like this:
Dolphin HD had the best features and page rendering, but lower end devices couldn't keep up
Opera Mobile's page rendering wasn't perfect but the UI was smooth as butter
Dolphin Mini has the best of both worlds. It is also my favorite browser by far.
Also, for what it's worth, Dolphin Mini has been out for about 1.5 months now.

Dolphin is a complete, well-designed browser, while the firefox crew still has some work to do. I do believe that they are on their way, though. Dolphin HD was nice, but as others say, it's need for resources caused it to be laggy at times. Dolphin Mini is a very fast capable browser with nice features like gestures, tabs, and save as pdf. But as far as speed, from experience, Opera Mini has blown all of these up. I also like how Opera mini slows down side to side scrolling when the user zooms in on text (use it and you will know what I am referring to). Other browser try this but not quite as effectively. I would say that a browser with Opera Mini speed and Dolphin HD/mini features would be the best of all worlds.
I'm gonna sing with you...haha...

But I think its settings are a little too complicated.
is it me or text reflow doesn't work on Dolphin browsers anymore? It reflows after zooming in upon double tapping, but it used to be automatic right after pinch zooming in.

I don't have this problem on my droid.
weird because text reflow works in the default browser. I'm on the MIUI ROM on a Desire Z though so that could be a problem.
EDIT: K seems to be a MIUI problem coz reflow works fine on CM6.1.1.
Anyone know if there are modded color versions of Dolphin Mini? Fantastic browser but i hate that neon green

Best Browser?

So far I've used a whole bunch of browsers:
Stock Honeycomb
Dolphin HD
Dolphin Tab
Firefox
That browser that starts with M... max something... MX something...
Opera,
and probably some others.
There are pros and cons with them all, and I'm wondering about people's opinions on them.
Here's what I think:
Stock: nice, of course, cause it's stock. Doesn't allow addons, it seems, though. Pretty zippy. The "full screen mode" that has the menu options when you slide your thumb onto the screen on either side is very very cool.
Dolphin HD: I can see why people like it, but I don't like it much myself. Clearly it's not optimized for tablets, which is why I started using Dolphin Tab...
Dolphin Tab: is clearly in beta. Works ok, and has addons, but this doesn't include adblock. Sad.
Firefox: I'm liking it. Definitely needs polish, and the way tabs work is pretty rough, but very nice. Doesn't have built-in user agent switcher, but an addon fixes that. And it has adblock! Yes! This makes it very very good in my eyes. Seems a bit heavy, though, kinda like Firefox on PC.
That M browser thingy: works well, definitely optimized for tablets, but not really my style, and has some rendering issues (it seems to me).
Opera: Very, very, very good. However, not optimized for Tablets. Which is too bad. It has no addons, so no adblock, and no user agent switcher, so all websites give me mobile versions. Very zippy, everything renders well, but Facebook is a little weird.
Actually, I've noticed that Facebook renders best in Firefox, for some reason.

Maxthon Browser.
Iv'e tried them all and i prefer the Maxthon tablet version over all other browsers available.
No rendering issues here.
I love the stock one.
BTW Opera does have agent switcher. Maybe you are trying opera mini? Try Opera mobile, it's a good browser.
Regards.
I've found all of the browsers to be laggy except Opera mobile. You can change the User Agent and you can also block ads using the url filter feature. The major drawback I find with it is that it doesn't have a page down and is scroll only. Almost every other browser allows me to hit the space bar or page down on the dock to advance a page.
I really want to like Firefox for the add ons but I just found it to be to slow to load.
I'm a huge Dolphin fan and have been using it on my phone forever but I found it just does not scroll smoothly at all on my TF.
The slide-out navigation controls make the default browser best, in my opinion. Give them a try - it allows for quick navigation and a more viewable browsing area without being cluttered by the menu bar.
Wow, thanks, Jacorso. I was dumb and using Opera Mini. Derp.
And for those suggesting stock, I like stock as well, too. The slide-in controls are very very neat. I'll be switching between stock and opera mobile, it seems.
i like skyfire and dolphin tab the most just because how fast they are.
I just stick with the stock one since most of the others are just wrappers over it anyway and Firefox is horribly bloated.
i like the stock browser regarding its handling and the look...unfortunately it's really slow and sometimes not reacting to touch...
for now i am quite satisfied with dolphin tab. it is pretty fast and working so far...though i wonder, why there is still no really working browser for tabs by now? it's not like android tabs were available since last week...
Dolphin for Pad and Maxthon for Pad are the only ones other than Stock that I use.
I've just tried maxthon for tablet but I went back immediately to opera mobile... it seems laggy and scrolling is not smooth like in opera... i wish opera had gestures to manage tabs...
I have been using Opera for 4-5 months & have been happy. Not that it doesn't have a few issues but nothing g compared to the stock browser. There is no lag while typing. The XDA search box actually works. These were a couple issues with the stock browser that I couldn't overcome.
im using opera mini, does anyone know how to change mobile facebook to normal facebook like in computer..
Sorry for English.
I like Dolphin HD
I like Dolphin HD
I use Opera and I haven't problem.
Stock, and when ICS comes and is even faster, it will still be the case.
Opera doesn't fully comply with web standards so 5% appear very strange on the tablet.

I use opera since 2 weeks. Im happy with it. Runs very fast and stable.
Stock browser is always the best
i dunno, i use maxthon in combo with stock...
i prefer maxthon tablet version 1.5 (the latest) as it works very nice and fast, but some times it bugs on some downloads o0, and thus i combine it with stock
browser
im a fan of the stock browser however i cant figure out how to set my homepage??

Miren Browser Themed As Google Chrome (Great Browser) FOR GINGERBREAD

You do realize that this is NOT Google Chrome but is merely a themed version of the Miren Browser.

On a side until I started using Dolphin I loved Miren Browser. But you should retitle your post to say Miren Browser themed to look like Google Chrome

Thank you, and no I did not realize this... but I do appreciate the correction, I hit the thanks button.. All in all, I do find this to be a great browser though.. I'll have to check Dolphin out too.. the only alternative browser I've used is the Opera browser.. which is also great!
Wow, this is one of the smoothest browser I've ever seen! Too bad, Dolphin has more functions. But still, thanks for this "Chrome" browser

Miren is sadly for whatever reason no longer on the market but it is an awesome browser. One thing I will say for it is that its really fast. The miren browser is actually the browser from the Miui Roms. At least it was at one time, not sure if it still it. After the Miui roms came out the Miui team stted releasing the Miui apps ported for all phones to the market. I thnk becuase now there is a Miui phone in China, that may be why there is no miren browser on the market anymore.

After JellyBean ICS+ doesn't work

After I installed the latest update which I think is JellyBean the ICS+ browser doesn't work. I uninstalled and reinstalled and it just crashes when the program is ran. Dolphin and Firefox still works, but I was getting used to the ICS+ browser. Anyone else have this problem or are there any other browser alternatives out there? Dolphin is really nice and I'll probably stick with that if I have no choice. Hey, at least flash works! I bust my girlfriends chops all the time about her iPad not having flash and some of her web pages just look horrible with Safari. She could never find an alternative browser for her iPad. Apple makes it very difficult to find programs that replace the core stuff on the iPad. A huge negative and one of the many reasons why I love Android so much better then ios.

yes, for me it's the same.
Did you read the app description in the Play Store? It says "Not compatible with Jelly Bean"...

Stock browser is just as good now imo. What are you missing that ics+ gives you?
It was called ICS+ (Ice Cream Sandwich +) for a reason. It was an extension of the ICS browser. I used myself as my primary, but yest with Jelly Bean the ICS browser is different, and as stated before it is shown in the app description that it will not work on JB. Now that said. I do hope they might make a JB+, but really the JB browser works just the same for me, without the home button.

One of the features that I miss to this day is an extended version of "Quick Controls" -- the controls option you can turn on in Settings / Labs that displays a semi-circle pop-up menu when you tap right right or left edge of the screen. In the stock browser, the menu is very limited, with just a few functions. In ICS+, you could choose to add / activate numerous functions and customize your installation pretty extensively. It was very powerful, and very useful. At the time, it became a must-have feature for me, and I wound up preferring ICS+ to Dolphin, Firefox, Maxthon, etc. Really miss ICS+ and hope dev considers implementing a JB version.

Also, see this thread for info on a setting in the stock browswer that really speeds things up-- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1923285
If you're not rooted you can't use browser2ram, but honestly, I don't think it's needed to apply this tweak. Good luck!
