Hello! How is the first time I am in this forum let me greet you all and apologize for the bad English.
My problem is: I own a 9003 that I belonged to a colleague of mine, and I can say that for the first samsung I'm pretty satisfied, but when I explore the phone verified that the camera locks when I step into the video mode and to return to work again I have to restart my phone to work and when I try to change between the 2 phone cameras the camera blocks again and don't work. I already tried to upgrade de camera firware and it still the same! How can I solve this problem? Help me please!

Flash a stock rom and update your firmware from Kies. (I know you are new, just read the sticky's)
Stick to stock roms if you want to avoid any bugs.

Hello.
From my post number you can understand that i am pretty new to the android world. So from my short understanding,
Kernel=The core of the OS
Firmware=The entire OS including the core .
Correct me on the above if am wrong.
Now lets get on topic. I want to root and then bring my phone to the factory default kernel or firmware if that makes a difference.
Looking at my phone status and on topics like :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278 and
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1101671
i see a lot of numbers that i dont understand.
First of all lets talk about my phone.
Baseband Version: I9100XXKI1
Kernel Version: 2.6.35.7.19100XWKI4-CL575468
Build Number: Gingerbread.XWKI4
1) The KI4 specifies the firmware version ? If yes why in the baseband i have KI1 while one the build number KI4 ? (i had KE7 before upgrading with KIES)
2) If i would like to download the original firmware from the thread i posted above i should go for the following as described below ? Even here, The Phone says XXKI1 while PDA XWKI4 . On which should i be interested and what is each of them .
XWKI4
Firmware info
PDA:XWKI4
PHONE: XXKI1
Date: 14/09/2011
Android 2.3.4
3) Even on the XWKI4 on the above thread, there are several links, OXX MultiCSC(AUT, COS, ...), DBT (Germany), XEU (UK) , XWKI4 Stock Kernel etc. My phone was imported from Germany, does it really matter what download link i chose ? What is again the difference in them.
4) Now about kernels. For an insecure kernel i should go for the GT-I9100_XWKI4_insecure ?
5) As last , to restore back to the factory default firmware (or kernel), i need to download the original kernel from the above thread i posted which would be ( GT-I9100_XWKI4_original) , or i can simply apply the firmware which would add also the firmware and would replace it without any problem ?
Thank you very much in advance.
no one knows the answer of any of the 4-5 points ?

Because you can see the baseband (modem) as an own package in the rom.
Sometimes the rom gets updated and the modem doesn't thats why the numbers are different.
You can also flash just another modem and keep the rest of the rom.

Looks good, just write down what kernel/modem/rom you have atm and get one with the same specs among the the original firmwares.

Hello! You are right that bootloader does not look like the correct info, i believe it belongs to a galaxy note 2 with a quick google search, now since its running whatever boot-loader that is, are you sure this is a 100% real galaxy s4 and not fake? if you are 100% sure it is, go here Sammobile.com (to download firmware you have to create a account i know its stupid) once thats done go to firmware at the very top, about in the middle of the page where it says "Search device here" type in your model number (make sure you have the right model number, take the battery out of the phone and read what it says where the battery is supposed to go, its a international model right?) now a bunch of places will show up, find the correct place where you are living currently, here are the instructions on how to put this stock firmware (and hopefully giving you the right bootloader) on your phone: WARNING this will factory reset your phone basically (be careful with custom roms you can too but you can backup your stock rom first) so back up everything you need on your phone because its all being deleted:
Instructions
Extract (unzip) the firmware file
Download Odin v3.09 https://mega.co.nz/#!UdRRyCAT!H4FyVxYynNWvXqRNmnpMGQRCP-dG3uykgP2pT4rh8Ek
Extract Odin zip-file
Open Odin v3.09
Reboot phone in Download Mode (press and hold Home + Power + Volume Down buttons)
Connect phone and wait until you get a blue sign in Odin
Add the firmware file to AP / PDA
Make sure re-partition is NOT ticked
Click the start button, sit back and wait a few minutes
once thats done you should be on the Correct bootloader and be able to root/ install custom recovery on your phone for that custom rom you wanted. good luck! if you have any questions please reply back! dont be afraid to ask!

so you are able to boot? if so i would grab a app like https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.antutu.ABenchMark and run the tests to see if you have the same hardware a Galaxy s4 is supposed to have,

I imagine you need to change your phone CSC's. To do that you need a PC with Windows and an internet connection (you need Latest Odin3 and Samsung USB Drivers), your Galaxy A8 with its USB-C to USB cable, latest official firmware for your model and csc and the Factory Firmware tar for your phone and with correct bootloader rev (to know what's your current bl rev download "Phone Info ☆Samsung☆" app from Play Store and check your Bootloader version inside it, the bootloader rev is after the phone model number and fw country/type; ex. A530FXXU3):
- A530F Rev 1
- A530F Rev 2
- A530F Rev 3
- A730F Rev 1
- A730F Rev 2
- A730F Rev 3
If you downloaded and installed all the needed, do a backup of all your data and files, then follow those steps:
1. Boot your phone in Download mode
2. Open Odin3 as Administator, go in "Options" tab and enable Auto Reboot and Re-Partition, then click on the AP button and select the COMBINATION tar file you downloaded previously
3. Connect your phone to your pc and click the Start button in Odin3, flash should start
4. You phone now should boot in Factory Firmware. Select IMEI option at the bottom of the screen to bring up the dial pad, then dial *#243203855#
5. Select your new CSC code (in your case INS) and wait for it to install and reboot
6. Wait for phone to reboot and do a Factory Reset in Settings app
7. Reboot to Download mode again and setup Odin3 like before
8. You now need to flash your official firmware, so put all the tars from the firmware you downloaded on their section (AP inside AP, BL inside BL, CP inside CP and CSC inside CSC)
9. Connect back your phone in your pc and click Start in Odin3
Your phone should now be back to the Stock Firmware and with the correct CSC set, to check it go inside Settings>About phone>Software info>Service provider SW ver. and check if the first CSC sales code matches the one you choosen previously.
Greetings!

Thanks for your detailed reply. Unfortunately there is no official INS firmware available for this model as it's not been launched in India. I tried flashing it with other countries firmware but it didn't work. Is there any other way?

You can try to flash A530F AP, BL, CP tars with A730F INS CSC tar. If it doesn't works you unfortunately need to root your device to install the correct csc in system (the guide I explained before is for non-rooted devices)

It's like one month we are behind it actually lol, but since recently you can finally root safely your device with flashing my TWRP 3.2.3+Magisk v17.1. Would suggest to flash my custom kernel also (MCK), but I wanna suggest to wait till' next version comes out since there will be a lot of under-the-hood improvements over the current version (v1.2)

As I said previously, you need to set the correct CSC sales code in your device in order to get the features you need for your country/SIM. To do that you can follow the guide I wrote above or, if you're rooted, you just can edit the "/efs/imei/mps_code.dat" file and replace the current CSC with the one you prefer.

How to change S9/S9+ CSC (Only Same Model Number's CSC)
Hi I will tell you how to change S9/S9+ CSC simple.
You can change to the same Model Number's CSC.
You don't need a special UART Cable.
It's simple to changing using RealTerm or PuTTY with any Type-C cable.
(I recommend Samsung's bundle cable in the phone box.)
Install Smart Switch and RealTerm or PuTTY.
I will tell you using RealTerm.
And you will need SamFirm to download Stock Firmware.
1. Find Your Model's Combination File by yourself!
And Flash by Odin.
2. If your phone shows your Model Number after boot.
Run RealTerm and go to Port tab.
Set Baud to 230400 and Select Port to ssudmdm0000 or very similar name.
3. Go to Send tab.
Enter "AT" and click Send ASCII.
If you get a response like
+USB READY
BOOTING COMPLETED
AT
or
AT
or
OK
or
BOOTING COMPLETED
AT
Proceed to the next number.
If you didn't get a response click +CR and send again.
If you get a response like "ERROR" proceed to the next number.
Still if you didn't get a response check your phone status and cable status.
If everything is normal proceed to the next number.
If still you didn't get a response it mean's your phone or cable is not normal status.
4. Enter "AT+PRECONFG=1,0" and click Send ASCII.
You will get this response.
AT+PRECONFIG=1,0+PRECONFG:1,???
OK
??? is your current CSC.
5. Enter "AT+PRECONFG=2,???" and click Send ASCII.
Enter ??? you want to change to another CSC.
You will get this response.
AT+PRECONFG=2,???+PRECONFG:2,OK
OK
??? is your changed CSC.
6. Enter "AT+PRECONFG=1,0" and click Send ASCII.
You will get this response.
AT+PRECONFIG=1,0+PRECONFG:1,???
OK
??? is your changed, current CSC.
7. Flash Changed CSC's Stock Firmware.
Congratulations!
You changed CSC for free by yourself!
Special Thanks to "HD Voice"
(He finded this method even without having a S9/S9+. Just a normal Korean User LOL)

Hi applypay,
Thank you! I tried this on my S9 Exynos G960F/DS, Taiwan (BRI) stock.
However the Combination Rom must be installed first, otherwise "AT+PRECONFG" command will return nothing.
Once "AT+PRECONFG=2,???" is done, then install whatever local Rom to use, and for me it worked.

Not possible. I have CHC only phone and want to change to TGY. Only firmware available is CHC. I used to take sec_csc.zip from a totally different phone and flash, but it seems like csc are no longer flashable?
SM-W2018 used sec_csc.zip so I took tgy zip from S7 edge and flashed in stock recovery . W2019 has ODM partition, not a zip, so I don't know how to flash another phone's CSC
Let's Get Started by saying: I'm not resoponsible for brick, loss or any damage to your phone. So backup!
Pre Requirements:
a. A Windows PC with internet connection.
b. Odin Patched Here
c. HOME CSC file of Indian / Thailand / Vietnam Region. You can get firmware of your phone from samfw.com or any other website.
Make sure that the bootloader version on your phone and the one you download are same. For example, A515FXXU4CTJ1 has bootloader version 4 (that's fifth digit from the right). So you have to download a firmware which has same bootloader version.
P.S. We don't need full firmware, Only the file name beginning by "HOME_CSC" is needed.
Working:
1. Eject the SIM Card(s)
2. Go to Settings -> Apps -> Calendar -> Storage -> Clear Data.
3. Put your phone into download mode.
4. Run the Odin....exe (downloaded in step b) as administrator
5. Click CSC and select the HOME_CSC file obtained from step c in Pre-Req.
6. Click "Start".
7. When phone reboots, Repeat step 2.
All done. You can insert SIM Card(s) and use Call Recording.
Notes:
You'll be ondifferent region's CSC after this.
Phone will not factory reset and you won't lose any data after this.
You might not be able to get system updates after this. In order to get them you'd have to flash your region's CSC, then update, then flash custom CSC again.
Tested working on:
Samsung A51 (Android 10)
Samsung A50 (Android 10)
Samsung M21 (Android 11)

Hi I tried your message but I got an error on my phone along the lines of : secure check fail cache (1). I tried with the odin version you linked and I was thinking about trying a version v3.14 patched that I found here on XDA. Any ideas?
My phone is fine it does seem to restart to a thing with the cyan download background saying "An error has occured..." but I can restart and then hit volume key saying 'reset phone' which just boots the phone normally.

It's G991U1, with 1ATLI so I downloaded 1AUB8 (THL) to try to flash the HOME_CSC, I'm 100% sure I tried with the odin you linked (also your one has same CRC SHA-1 as the the one linked in the XDA thread). Maybe I need to try with the updated patcheD odin (v3.14.1_3B) I didn't do that yet.

I believe everything's right then. Can't identify the issue though.
I guess, trying updated version might help.
Good luck!
If problem persists after trying updated version. Please share screen when phone is in download mode.
I had kept this thread in my bookmarks since I was buying the A52 4G on Amazon.ca and absolutely wanted Call Recordings (officially we shouldn't be able to get the A52 4G in Canada, only the 5G version is officially here, so it's an import).
But as luck would have it, it's the SM-A525M and already has Call Recording enabled in it. So that saves me some trouble. But thanks for this guide! I may not have needed it in the end, but would've totally relied on it otherwise.
If I'm understanding this right, my firmware is A525MUBS1AUD1. Brazil's ? It's Android so it has every languages built-in regardless and there's no carrier specific apps in it either, so that's great.
