(Well, this is embarrassing.)
(yes, I read older threads before making this.)
I recently rooted my admire; I decided to install rom manager and Busybox, however, when rom manager was installed (I figured that I could get flashed roms) When I begun to install CWM recovery 7.0.3 from rom manager, i chose "other". It installed, and it told me to reboot. So, i turned it off and was going to turn it back on. Nothing. Recovery mode, Download mode. Nothing. Phone stays off, never turns back on, as if it was dead. I'm not sure if it did enter DL mode, because I heard that it would still be in download mode, even if the screen was off. My battery still charges(?) when i plug it in. (The battery heats up, no charging screen, or boot.) Any fix?
To recap; Samsung admire. Rooted recently. Root manager installed. Cwm recovery 7.0.3 downloaded. Installed. Tried to reboot. Hard brick.

so i wanted to upgrade my phone and wanted to use one of the tayutama roms. I backed up using tibu and flash back to stock. well when i got into download mode, the progress meter didnt move and my phone seemed to power off. I unplugged my phone went back into download mode again...same thing...I tried a couple of the one click mode roms and it did the same thing...any ideas? Thanks. I was on cog 8.1.3 before I did this. Ive flashed several roms before and had no issue before this...thx.
disregard...i rebooted my pc and it worked...very weird.
ok. I have a Droid 2 running Android 2.2, and i rooted it manually last night. Took a while to get it working, but i got it. And now i bought the premium version of Rom Manager to make good use of my rooted phone. i ran into two problems, and only solved one.
Rom Manager wouldn't reboot in recovery mode at ALL, but i finally figured out that all i had to do was manually give it permissions with superuser.
But now that it actually reboots, it doesn't go into recovery mode. it just restarts the phone. what am i missing?
phone rooted ?
yea. i used this guide
mydigitallife.info/2010/09/30/how-to-root-motorola-droid-2-droid2/
My phone is definitely rooted. But Rom Manager refuses to reboot into recovery mode. the phone just restarts normally.
Hi, i recently downloaded a small random reminder aplication and my android OS 1.6 completely froze and i had to take out the baterry to turn it off, after i restarted it, it would freeze completely just before showing the desktop, so i decided to flash the phone, which ive done before not very successfully with none of the 10 roms i could find for this phone.
now they all go well until it hits the "SYSTEM" part and all the roms freeze there, also ive no recovery mode, i enter the key combo and all i can see is "recovery mode....." but nothing else happens, all i can access is the download mode..
these are the roms ive tried:
BH_MAN_WARHEADS
BH_MAN_TWEAKEDV1
BH_MAN_TWEAKEDV2
BH_MAN_TWEAKEDV3
BH_MAN_TAKE5
and the stock ones T939UVJA3 and T939UVJE2_OEM
im thinkin this has to do something with ADB or file permissions or something coz ive never been able to flash my phone easily, help would be appreciated, i use this phone for work everyday!
Hey guys,
I have my rooted, custom-ROMmed GS3 here. Was running Eclipse ROM for a while now (several months), decided that I wanted to re-ROM soon, and as I had to boot into recovery earlier today (Google Hangouts caused my phone to freak out and get caught in the bootloop) I figured now was as good of time as any. Did some research, decided to put LiquidSmooth on it, downloaded Liquid-JB-v2.9-OFFICIAL-i9305.zip and gapps-jb-20130301-signed.zip, put them on my external SD, booted into CWM recovery, flashed both on my phone. I did forget to wipe everything. And I think I may have tried to put the international ROM on it. Phone was at 94% battery at the start of this. (Didn't make a backup as my phone was running a backup.) Now, phone won't recognize the power button at all, either just to power on or to try to boot to recovery. It is recognized by my PC in Device Manager as QHSUSB_DLOAD, and plugging it into a charger (wall or USB) without the battery in gives me a red LED.
Help?
Thanks
Figured it out - hard bricked my phone due to a wrong ROM. Fixed it by sending it to brickedmyphone.com , he had it back to me in a week, back to stock, completely working.

So here's what I've done after I got the phone:
1. Tried to install CWM recovery. Apparenty it was not for my model. The phone booted up and worked properly, but I couldn't access Recovery.
2. I tried to roo the phone with Kingo ROOT, it failed. Tried to root it with another popular rooting software and it was good. Rooted.
3. I tried to extract bml5.img to try to unlock the phone but there was no such file so I gave it back my friend.
4. My friend tried to do a factory reset (which I think was supposed to by done by the Recovery that couldn't be accessed...) and the phone got bricked.
5. After he gave it back to me I tried to enter Download mode but the phone always shut down so I charged it for a bit.
6 And here comes the real problem. Now that it's charged, I start the device. After 3 seconds it started emmitting a somewhat quiet, very high pitched noise, and the screen keeps blinking. It can boot in Download mode but I'm too scared to leave it go on.
Now, I'm planning to leave the phone overnight with the battery taken out. And give it a go tomorrow.
Any advice? Has this ever happened to anybody else?
