No. Go to the market and download it. It's free and wipes its ass with the stock browser, in my opinion.

I was going to download it but it doesn't have flash support and that to me is a deal breaker.
Sent from my Xoom using Tapatalk 2

Well, as a web developer for many years, I can tell you that Flash will go the way of the dinosaurs sooner rather than later. Regardless, if I come across a site where I need flash, I'll open it in the stock browser. Otherwise it's 100% Chrome for day to day browsing!

I've heard good things about it minus the flash support that's the new direction HTML 5.

Uh, you have to be more specific. What do you want to do with the tablet? Are you an Apple person, or an Android person? 7'? 8.9"? 10"?
you can try the galaxy note tablet
I'm looking for an android tablet. Either a 7" or 10". I was looking between the galaxy tabs 2 both in 7" and 10". Kinda read mixed reviews.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
I would YouTube galaxy2 tab vs galaxy note and use spec difference. My personal opinion the note would be my choice because galaxy tab can be hassle with fc even in basic stock. But you gotta find the difference there
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
I have a tab 2 10.1. It hasn't had any fc or problems. It also doesn't have very much dev support. It runs well for me, it's rooted, and I use it for watching movies and surfing the web.
Look into the note tablet and the nexus 7. Those are better tablets as far as specs go. They probably also have more dev support. Up to you though, the tab 2 works just fine for me.

Just got myself a nexus 7. Can't give a review or anything as I haven't even unboxed it yet. Personally, I wanted the nexus 10 but its just not in my budget right now. Little brother has an account through newegg so settled for that. Same price as it is through the play store too.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda
I've had a nexus 7 for a few months now. I love it. The constant android os updates are a huge plus for me. There's pretty good dev support, too. For the price, I'm shocked at how much I like it.
There are a few bugs with the screen. Some users report a horizontal line of burnt pixels developing, and other users report blurry edges. My nexus 7 developed the horizontal line last week. I made a three minute phone call and a new nexus 7 arrived two days later. Not bad at all. I've read the screen issues have been fixed as of now.
Oh, it's also easy as heck to root and maintain. Rooting took me less than 10 minutes from start to finish.
Edit:
It depends if u really want a similar experience as the skyrocket. I imagine the Samsung tablets may be a good pick. I found the uber clean stock Android 4.2 system on the N7 was simple enough for me to bounce and forth between the skyrocket and not go bald or blind from stress.

Possible 4.1.2 coming as soon as friday?

We can hope. I doubt it will be 4.1.2 but you never know with VZW.
Where in that article does it say 4.1.2????? I only see it mention 4.1. How do you jump to the conclusion that it will be 4.1.2?

If I'm not mistaken does it even matter? I thought the x.x.2 update was basically patches for the nexus 7 with an update for power management and then just very minor updates to the rest

What makes it important to us, is the changes Samsung made to the TouchWIZ framework in 4.1.2:
Multi-View Multitasking - The ability to run two different apps simultaneously on one screen.

Do any of the US variants even have that? Pretty sure they reserved that for just the international version and the note 2 because of the quad core.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
I saw an article from tom's hardware about the Samsung suite pack. It should be released later on. The international one, I believe is what got the updated features.

Well, we don't have any 4.1.2 US variant builds yet (even leaks), so it's hard to say whether or not we will get the Multitasking built in. What is likely though, is that we will get the framework changes that support it (even if Samsung doesn't provide the actual application to do it). In that case, it will be a simple port to get it up and running.

I'm pretty sure we'll get it. There's lots of stuff in the framework that's associated with the multi-view feature such as images and XML files so it's a safe bet that it'll come to the US variants.
Regarding multi view, scott on the clean rom forum said its definitely in the framework, but its "turned off" in almost 180 something files, he said it would be painstakingly time consuming , byt someone with the time and knowledge could definitely turn it on.

I highly doubt that it will come to Verizon anytime this year... which is a shame
LOL Verizon getting 4.1.2
WOW you have your hopes high, they still haven't released 4.1.1. and I'm using a leaked version and there are still bugs in it. I highly doubt we will see 4.1.2 before April.
LOL at some of the funny comments - I'm sure if its coming to the US, Verizon will get it too - seriously - I can't stop laughing.
Yeapppp! Still don't even have jellybean update. Lol
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
4.1.2 is unlikely. Support docs have started shipping out, and K3 is the official Verizon build #, so the K3 we're seeing around here should be what's pushed out via the OTA when it starts:

Friday for 4.1.1 But maybe we can get the leak of 4.1.2 this year.

It was told that 412 will release 2nd week of january. So for the leak 2 weeks is enough if that is real.

Sadly, that is always the case.
Hey at least we get to extend the life of our phones to another flavor of Android!
In any case, shame on Verizon in advance...

That's good news. If it comes out on one of the US variants a port will bring it to the other versions.
Either way it's good news all the way around whether if T-Mobile, Verizon, or At&t get it first.

Correct me if I'm wrong...but isn't it easier for devs to develop on official OTAs rather than porting something over?

Actually it is easier to develop from AOSP. It is also easy to port from the same phone but different carriers. The difficulty comes from porting from one device to another.

We don't all want AOSP. We know its easier because devs get full control of the ROM, unlike having to deal with an issue on touchwiz.

Well that's good, makes the wait for my contract to be over and getting the GS5 much shorter. I hope we get an official version but first I want the real 4.1.2 with all those god damn features the worthless new update doesn't have.
can't wait
years itypsva
This is gonna be epic in my opinion Rumors were being thrown around saying that there is a possibility that we (GS3 users in general) could get Smart Stay for like videos as seen with the GS4 and maybe Smart Scroll too.

5.0 is a major O/S upgrade for Android called Key Lime Pie (currently we're Jelly Bean 4.x). Here some details what's in the new Operating System:

Google Now

After months of waiting t-mobile released the jellybean ota for the one s. I just updated and am quite happy about it. One of the features i am most interested in is google now however I cannot seem to figure out where it is. Being that I have only been using jellybean at this point for a couple hours i'm sure there are things I just need to get used to but I want to try out google now. If anyone can explain how to get it up and running for me that would be great. Thanks.

Im on ICS.. go figure..this doesnt really upset me due to the fact that im getting a new phone ( Droid DNA ) Wednesday!
I don't think it's worth it. The old one looks way more organised and simple. I won't even bother installing the new Store's .apk
Well that's my opinion, you may like it better
Mine just installed automatically when I connected to the wifi.
solution
You have to go to services and clean the cache on the market processes. I had to do that with my droid x a long time ago.
Sometimes it just takes a while. On my phone once, I cleared it and force stopped it several times and it didn't update until a couple hours later.

No. I, too, think the new one looks hideous. Too much like it's trying to be iOS for my taste.
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T using Tapatalk 2
I believe the new one looks hideous, the old one is way better. But of course, we will get used to it in the future (do we have any other choice?).
Anyway, to answer the thread, it depends on the country you are in. Usually, they update per country (if it is available to you).
