[Q] Mobile Odin's startup: could not locate mobile odin package - General Questions and Answers

Hi,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S with a crappy usb drive, so my only option is to use the SD-card and an app to upgrade the phone (now under Android Eclair 2.1)
I cleaned up the phone (full reset and sd card format)
I rooted my sgs with update.zip on the sd card and the volume up - home - power
Then bought the app Mobile Odin Pro 2.40 via google play.
at the start of the app, my su app asks to grant root privilege.
The app then stops booting and says : "Could not locate Mobile ODIN package."
The only option available is "ok" which close the app
I have no Idea what to do to make the app work.
Thanks in advance for your help

BUMP

[Android] Market keep telling me of update when I uninstall the app.

Recently there was an updated version of Android Terminal Emulator by Jack Palevich, the free one from Market. But I was unable to install it as it always prompt me "Insufficient Memory". I've more than 100MB free internal memory (using App2sd) and over 5GB free on my SDcard. But it just refuse to let me install. So I tried downloading the apk too and install it using a root manager, but the installation also failed.
So I decided to give up on the app and remove the app. But yet Market still prompts me for an update (and my phone refuse to let me install it). I done a search on "jack" using my root manager to delete all files related with the app and even clear up all apps cache... but still Market prompts me!
What should I do to either:
1. Get this app to install successfully
or
2. Remove this app "cleanly"
or
3. Stop Market from showing me an "Update" for this app when it's already not in my phone?
Phone: Moto Milestone
Firmware: 2.1-update1
Thanks a lot for your help.

it can be solved by doing a hard factory reset... from recovery
or simply erase and re-flash rom
it is not a serious problem don't worry your phone is perfectly fine it is just a software inconvenience

Problem:
1. Camera, when you clicked on camera it shuts down and says "Security Policy resrticts the use of Camera"
2. Memory Card - Micro SD is mounted but when booted you can't see the icon on My Files also you can't browse the contents of the memory card but when in download mode / restore mode it reads it.
3. Bluetooth - Icon or setting is there but when you click it on it does not turn into green or won't turn on.
4. On the Drop down menu there's a notification that says "Please install MDM" - i tried installing MDM but when the app is installed it prompts for a "company site code"
Possible Solutions that already tried
1. Restored the phone to it's original state on Device Recovery Mode (Factory Reset) nothing happened
2. Flashed a custom rom (OCHIE ROM) but still the "Please install MDM" on the drop down prompts it and same issues, Cam+MMC+BT restricted
3. Flashed custom kernel (Berzebb), nothing happened "Please install MDM" on the drop down prompts it and same issues, Cam+MMC+BT restricted
4. Tried to locate the Application that restricts the use of the following features by using Titanium Backup PRO and was able to locate 1 app that says DM manager, tried to kill the app using Titanium backup and was able to remove the notification "Please install MDM" on the drop down menu but still same problem Cam+MMC+BT restricted.

PROBLEM SOLVED.
You have to root it, then install root explorer and browse in the efs\security. delete the mdm\dmm file, then from recovery menu wipe data-factory reset, wipe cache and then reboot. tadaaam

In case you use a pirated version:
Uninstall, buy the legit one from the Play Store
In case you use a legally bought one:
Enter Settings -> Applications, find Mobile ODIN, Force Stop, Clear Cache, Clear Data, Uninstall.
Re-Install from Play Store
If it still doesn't work manually download the p3100 flashkernel package and install it (see Chainfire's thread)
If the problem persists contact Chainfire - Chainfire is very helpful to legit users/customers.

Just conect your phone to pc and repair with pccompanion.
I think its called monkey virus, try use system apps remover, but you need to root your phone first , and go to system/apps, delete MONKEY TEST and TIME SERVICE
