you shouldn´t be messing with OC...you can fry your processor. To get to hboot you need to boot pressing power + volume down (not up)....just make sure u do a full wipe and flash a new rom or restore a backup)
thanks

never follow a guide that tells you how to do an 80% overclock and says "follow instructions", always slowly increase clock speed by 5% increments to test stability first, meaning use it for a day to make sure you get no freezes or random reboots. And never have to to set clock speed on boot, have it change automatically with setcpu so it doesnt just hold it at that clock speed.
Do a battery pull and let it sit for about 60secs to discharge, put the battery back in and press and hold power and volume down to get into fast boot. boot into recover and reflash your rom and kernel.
thanks

The safer way is to use an OC kernel, such as RCmix3D V12 or any other available. Make sure that the kernel you choose is compatible with the rom u are in....
Trying to do that stuff for yourself is kinda dangerous as you have already experienced...
cool

Most of the Custom roms in the forum are OC in the kernel, so you don't need to touch anything. Read some threads and see the changelogs. If you want to install a kernel you have to flash through CWM as usual. Just give a look and decide what u want...if you need a different kernel you can find the klquicksall's kernels here:
http://forums.acsyndicate.net/showthread.php?1728-Kernel-RCMIX-3D-CIFS-NLS-OC1-9-VDD-TUN-2WCR
again, read carefully what the file you are about flash involves....

Try this while phone is off hold menu volume down then power on all at the same time. Hold until the LG logo comes on when it flashes off release the 3 buttons. You should be in recovery

If he's rooted and can get into recovery he can restore his nandroid backup if he has one. That's if he has a custom recovery installed

You shouldn't have posted this thread here. I don't know how to get an LG into recovery. Use Google. But if you don't know how to access recovery you shouldn't really be messing with any android framework files.

Ok first Watch the swearing in the forums. Second if you dont know how to do these things then you really shouldnt have been trying to mod your phone. One wrong step and you have a pretty brick.
Your best bet is to go to the sony site and look for the info there.
The developer is helping you in the thread for Battery Icon Mod, there's really no need to start a new thread and blow your top using profanity in the thread title like that. You apply mods at your own will, there is always a risk when modifying system files. There are warnings in the Battery Icon Mod thread and the App itself.
Thread Closed
**Added a few new things now that we have S-off. Check them out below.**
This thread was created simply for Noobs. Yes, if you don't know how to boot into the bootloader..than you should be reading this. We were all Noobs once. You can always check this more than once since i will be updating it with more issues and solutions fellow members post that i might have forgot to add.
If you dont have this recovery flashed already here is a Link to a WORKING CHARGING WHILE OFF RECOVERY PLEASE FLASH IT JUST TO BE SURE YOUR SAFE here. Will get removed when Rom Manager gives you the right recovery and not a broken one.
My Phone Died and i can't turn it back on!!! help!!
1. Download the recovery i have posted above. Once downloaded rename to remove the name of the recovery until its just named recovery.img.
2. Plug your device to a computer and run the command
adb reboot
or
adb reboot bootloader
if your device doesn't turn on, then simply pull the battery, put it back in, then redo the steps.
3. Once your phone does power on from one of those commands, reboot into android OS and put the recovery on the root of your sdcard.
4.Boot into bootloader while plugged into the computer and run the following command
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Then the problem is fixed! I'm very sorry for the inconvenience, but thats the fix.
7/28/11 We now have s-off.
follow this guide here for a better in depth on how to do it. : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192300
How do i flash a ROM on my sensation?
1.place the rom on the ROOT of your sdcard.
2.boot into recovery using either the app rom manager and choosing boot to recovery, MORE THAN LIKELY your custom rom will have the advanced power menu so you can just hold the power key, go to restart, then choose recovery, or powering off and booting holding power+vol down, then scroll down to recovery, press power key.
3. WIPE your DATA/CACHE partitions, then scroll down to advanced and wipe your dalvik cache.
4. go to install zip from your SDCARD
5. Choose zip from sdcard.
6. Find the rom, press power button, and install it.
7. Reboot and enjoy!
Will i lose all my texts, apps, etc when i install a new rom?
Yes you will. You could make a titanium backup of everything though and restore it when your done flashing the roms so you can get everything back. Download titanium from the market.
What is the difference between a Nandroid Backup and using Titanium backup??
Well When you make a nandroid backup, your backing up the ENTIRE rom, not just things you want to restore onto your new rom. in other words, with a nandroid, if you want to go back to your previous rom if you don't like the new one, use a nandroid backup.
Nandroid sounds interesting and is something i would like to do!! How do i do it?!
You boot into recovery, go down to where it says backup and restore, and choose backup, name it, then go ahead and back it up. Thats obviously where you want to restore it as well. You *ALSO* can choose the app ROM Manager and do it from there.
My battery Life SUCKS after i flashed this New ROM!! IS MY BATTERY MESSED UP??
Nah its not don't worry about it. Your battery life usually is going to suck because your battery stats got wiped from android, and it has to recreate it. So let the battery die once probably, fully charge it, then let it die again. then Charge it then you should be ok. Give it a day or two you should see a change. If not, let the developer of the ROM know NICELY in his thread. If you see that someone already posted about the battery life, no need for you to post it as well.
How do i flash a kernel??
You flash it exactly how you do a ROM. No need to wipe anything just flash it and reboot.
How do i flash a RADIO?
That depends. if its in a format and the name starts with a P then has a bunch of different numbers after, then you do the following:
1. Place on the root of your sdcard.
2. Reboot into the bootloader.
3. Then it will find it, and ask you if you want to update.
4. Let it do the update. It will only replace the radio.
5. Reboot into recovery and wipe DALVIK cache.
6. Reboot and enjoy.
ALWAYS make sure you read the Original post of the person who is providing the radio to make sure he ripped everything out and its ready to flash.
My Phone is S-OFF and it fully died and now it won't turn back on and it doesn't look like its charging while its off WTF AM I BRICK?!?!
No its not. From what i learned its in "offline" charging mode since the battery is so low, and even though the light isn't showing, its still charging. To turn back on:
1. Either wait a few mins and let it charge for a little, then pull battery, put it back in and try to turn on.
2. Plug into computer, let it sit for a second, then use this command from terminal:
adb reboot
It will turn it on for you. i honestly don't know WHY its like this, but thats just how it is for right now. i personally had to use the second option. If i learn more about this, ill update you guys.
Does this Recovery update?! If so, how do i UPDATE IT?!
Since S-off and recovery JUST became available to us, its prolly not updated right now. But for future reference just download the App ROM Manager from the market. Once loaded, if there is ever an update or something for it, it will be in that app. then you can choose it from there and it will update it for you.
I hold the volume down+the power button but it doesn't boot into it!!!! help!!!
Pull the battery out before you do it. OR to make things ALOT easier, before turning your sensation off go into settings, power, and uncheck the Fastboot option. Now when you turn the device off, it will fully power down instead of just going into a "sleep" mode. Now do it.
My wifi is terrible! When i turn it sideways, i lose ALL MY BARS!! WTF?!?!
'Try moving your hand, you might be detuning the WiFi antenna'. If you know that the WiFi antenna is adjacent to the camera lens, you're more likely to be aware when you're covering it. But Your not alone either. i actually have this same problem as well. Yes i know it sucks. There are only three things you could do here though honestly since We haven't really brought it down to a conclusion of is it our hardware that's causing it or is it the software.
1.You could boot into bootloader and data wipe your sensation to see if it fixes it. BE WARNED IT WILL WIPE YOUR DEVICE, MEANING EVERYTHING WILL GET DELETED OFF IT! APPS, MESSAGES ETC.
2.If that doesn't fix it, go into Settings-Wifi & Networks-Wifi Settings. Once your in there press the menu button and go to the advanced option in the pop-up menu. Once in there choose Best Wifi Performance.
3. If that doesn't work, then you need to get a warranty replacement. we know it sucks, we promise.
My touchscreen stops being responsive! Whats going on!?
It seems to be happening to everyone after about a week of use, me as well. We think maybe an ota will fix it. But to do a quick fix of it just turn the screen off for a few seconds then turn it back on. it usually fixes it whenever it stops working.
My Data connection is horrible and extremely slow. Why?!
This also seems to have happened to everyone. To try to fix, call t-mobile and see if they have your phone in their database, and make sure on their database it has that you have a sensation and they have the right data package going for you. Also make sure your Sim card isn't old, which t-mobile can also fix for you. I Can personally say talking with t-mobile helps. i used to have poor connection. now i can use wifi hotspot for my laptop while being on the phone talking with someone still with full 4G bars.
You could also try this fix ( Thanks Mysterioustko):
-Go into the dialer and dial *#*#4636#*#*
-Select Phone Info
-Go to the "toggle cyphering" button and disable it
-For good measure turn off radio and then turn it back on
-Then reenable the "toggle cyphering" button
Just got my new sensation but its really hot!!! Is it defective?!
No it's not defective, its just hot. These batteries can heat up from time to time, ESPECIALLY on your first few charges, but it won't happen much anymore after. My battery was extremely hot from just charging it for the first time with the phone turned off, so i'm speaking from experience and from other users as well.
The voicemail notification won't leave the status bar even when i don't have a voicemail!!
Simple fix: Settings-Call-Clear Voicemail Notification.
Any more questions? Please Ask here. Ill try to answer them and add them to this post. Hope this helps people. Let's not keep asking the same questions over, and over, and over.. and over again.

So, questions regarding radio's ... what are they? ... who makes them? ... why are they more dangerous to flash than rom it self? ... why is there more than version of radio per rom, and how to know which one to use?
ok, I'll slow down now ...
It would just be nice to have all radio related Q&A on one noob friendly place
So when the sensation boot loader gets open, i, and all us other beginners will definitely be more ready and armed with knowledge.
Thank you ...

hahahahahahah.. dont push it... there is much too many threads on radios and their ddescriptions.. in a nut shell.. if you dont have a radio you cannot make a call or use the phone as a phone.. so a radio is a must,, and the phone cannot be used with it..
Basically, it is recommended to use the radio that came with the ROM.. but many of us keep trying the new radios as and when they hit the market.. radio can be independently flashed on the phone (using sdk or fastboot - many programs available)
One person may see significant improvement by flashing a new radio, the other may not or may even have poor results > the radio performance will depend on the location you are in and your service provider.
Generally with the updated ROM (custom mostly) the dev will put somewhere in the OP the recommended radio..
OK,?

it's not bricked.... power off the phone then press and hold the power key and the vol down key at the same time til you see the HBOOT screen. vol down until RECOVERY is highlited then press power. That will bring you into Recovery mode. now wipe data/factory reset... then wipe cache partition.. then go to advanced and wipe Dalvik Cache... go back to mounts and storage and format system...
after all that then go back to install zipfrom sdcard and reinstall miui that should do it
Im not going anywhere so I'll be here, let me know how you do
Ouch. That sucks. Don't worry though, there is hope.
What you will have to do is remove your SD card and download a stock RUU and it will flash in Bootloader. Unfortunately I believe it will unroot you. I am not positive on that though. I will post a link so you can be reading a little more about it, we helped a guy thru this the.other day, but he wasn't rooted. Should be the same process though. You'll want to wait until we know exactly what to do because this is your one shot before you got a fancy paperweight. I have to run to atnt for a minute. Start reading so you'll know a little more of what is going to go on, and hang tight. Someone else may step in before I'm back, but you can start familiarizing yourself with the process shortly.
This fellow was pricked during an OTA update. About the same steps will be taken...

Tread lightly. I am gonna do my best to help, but I am not an expert. However I do feel confident that since Bootloader is all you can load that this is your fix. See ya soon.

search around on here for a stock rooted rom in PD98IMG.zip form There may be one inside the hack kit but cant remember. put it on your sdcard boot into bootloader by holding volume down and pressing power. let it search for the update. hit volume up to confirm update after it finds it. you have a micro sd card reader on your computer ?
Here's a link to gb stock rooted. Look at post 4. Credit goes to gene for the file.
To flash you will need a way to transfer files to your SD card.
Download the file and rename to PD98IMG.zip. boot into hboot it will scan and ask you to apply the update.
If you can't transfer files try the ruu exe. Version you downloaded.

Follow the steps in: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192300
It'll give you S-OFF and ClockworkMod (CWM).
You can access CWM by switching off and pulling the battery, then hold volume down and power on.
Then through CWM you the just install the CM7 (or any other ROM) zip file from the SDcard (assuming you've already copied it over).
I have not copied it over but i will do so. Thank you very much. Any other tips would be great but it sounds easy enough.

pullin the battery isnt necesairy, if you go to menu, energy, and thik off the quik boot. you dont have to pull the battery (the less you open the device the better) just shut down the device, then hold volume down and power on.
install the htc drivers (on the revolution site) before installing, connect your device so it can fully install the drivers for fastboot usb an such.
then begin the install proces.

Well i got to tho point where i installed cm7 from sd card and when it boots i get the blue android guy and the loading circle but then it just turns off. Gonna try some things
make sure you do a data/factory reset on recovery then flash desired rom, for CM specifically you need google apps to flash too
so flash CM7, after its done flash GAPPS
then reboot
I didnt have to flash gapps. But i did another wipe and reinstall and it worked. Seems to be good so far. What does gapps do?
it basically gives you google talk and the android market, but if it already came with that then no need to worry bout it, someone probably included Gapps in the CM7 build

Going to need a few more details. What ROM are you running? What version? What's the firmware version? You can find this information in the 'about phone' bit in the settings.
My first port of call if this was the case would probably to either repair permissions, or seeing as you've only just got your phone, reflash the ROM or flash another one. Quickest and easiest way, and all possible through Recovery.

Software version is the ROM that you are running, So in your case its InsertCoin 5.1.5
Download the ROM from the development section, And put it on your SD Card and flash it in recovery, Or do a factory reset and see if that helps.
to get into recovery you have to go through bootloader (unless you have advanced power menu)
If you dont know how to do this, Get to the general section and read the stickies.
You really ought to know what goes on in bootloader and recovery before you start selecting options and making matters worse

Can you lead me to the right link please ? I don't even know what to download :/
Choose a ROM you want to flash, I would suggest to stick with your current ROM to make this process easier for you.

Make sure you have everything needed to run this ROM, detailed instructions and downloads will be on the 1st page of the thread.
To get into bootloader remove and re-insert battery.
Hold down Volume Down + Power at same time.
then toggle with volume keys to get into required field, such as recovery / fastboot ect.

it work for me but i still want to know what is the problem and if the new apk is with full capabilities like the broken one
With the new ARHD 6.5.4 its been a common problem, just download LeeDriod tweaks and it fixes it.
I had the same problem. However a quick Google soon helped me. Apparently it's the .apk file. I used Winrar to replace the .apk did a superwipe, re-flashed the rom and it works a treat. Really top notch stable rom. Can't ask for more.
