A friend of mine is going to be on the radio which will be played through the I heartradio app
And was wondering if it was possible to record it? Thank you

i would alos love to fina an app that can record any stream at all from my atrix 4g

This will let you schedule a recording of any station available on iheartradio and others. The recording is stored on DAR servers so phone/computer status is irrelevant. Then get DAR car or DAR radio downloader to listen to the recorded podcast. -- or use any podcast software you desire.
The free version only lets you schedule one series at a time. You cant schedule recordings from the app.

I internally record iheartradio stations on Android.
Using Firefox add-on Grab Any Media. You have to search google for the iheartradio station to listen live and press the play arrow. I can't find a way to stop it, so I force close Firefox then goto my download folder and rename the part file to .mp3 and presto, you've got a great recording.

[Request] Record Audio stream- namely Spotify

Is it possible to record the audio output from the default music player or more specifically an application like Spotify.
I have Replay Music on my laptop which enables me to record the sound going through the audio chipset/soundcard. I would like to be able to either record the streams or record the offline playlists which output as per the music player when not connected to the net.
Can someone suggest an app or maybe a route to mod this in?
If it's a no-go then I'd appreciate someone kicking me up the arse and telling me to go and have a word with myself

What's a good radio stream player for Android?

I try different stream players from the Android Market but no one works fine. I have 2 players with streams TuneIn Radio, that's a good one with lots en lots of streams all over the world. It's a pitty that you can't add streams. I have also WunderRadio where it's possible to add the stream URL.
But I'm looking for one player not with streams, only a player what plays the stream wher you click on a website with streams like tuned.mobi.com or something and where you can add stream URL's. There are lots of it on the Android Market but lots of don't work. When I click on a stream, it download the .pls file or something and put in my downloadhistory and when I click on it it opens in the standard player but can't play it. I'm looking for a player to play in all stream formats like mp3, WMA, AAC+, .pls, MMS:// etc. There was a good player on Windows Mobile, the TCPMP player. I like an alternative of that player. I hope someone can help me.
I think Tunein radio
X2 tune in is the biz

Yes, I use Tunin Radio but I'm looking for only a player what play streams in many stream formats (mp3, wma (windows media files), .pls extensions, aac+, etc. etc.) and where you can add streams to your favorites.
I like streamfurious. Pro is expensive, probably not worth it with how the dev is (Not lazy, but not communicative either, doesn't update too often).
But once installed, it should all you to load a url in the app. If it does not work, the url in the browser should. (I have a custom m3u playlist, it loads from the browser, and streamfurious takes it from that point, adding it to its list).
I might not sound very positive about it, but I really do love the app.
Try XiiaLive Light in the market.

If you're on android 2.2+ Winamp has built in shoutcast which streams many radio stations. The stations are also listed in genres which is handy. Winamp also plays music on your phone better than the stock app.
XiiaLive is the best in my opinion.
Winamp is nice, but it has a few bugs in it, and I couldn't get it to automatically resume playing after calls, or on a dropped connection/buffer.
Xiilive and Winamp I try them both but no player works fine for me. I don't want a player with lots of standard stream but only a player, nothing more, nothing less. Winamp have lots of bugs and can't stream the channels in the shoutcast directory and also not Window Media Player. Also the option with clickable links in the browser are not working. I'm looking for a player what can play windows media streaming formats like asx, wma mms:// etc. and who have a the posibility for clickable streams on websites in the browser.
Motorala music player ist good for streaiming radio
I'm having pretty good luck with bsplayer, for both audio and video streams. bsplayer even seems to be able to seek direct mp3 streams, which most other players seem to either not be able to do, or do not do correctly. requires byte-range server support, of course.

I second this. The recommendation of xiialive was so "understated", though, that I almost didn't take it seriously... after trying every other app that anyone suggested, and having them ALL fail completely. Well, JustPlaylists was able to play some pls files (never m3u, though). These posts (this complaint) are so old, though, that I lost hope that any app could manage this BASIC functionality. Even the n7player (full trial version) was a complete fail. Xiialive works fantastically well, though. Plays all pls and m3u files, whether local or on a webpage. Plus, the rest of the app is very well done, as well. I love the alarm feature , which allows you to schedule a "program change". You can make this recur on any selected day(s), as well. I set it so that it automatically starts playing Mind Over Matters at 9am (EST) on Sat and Sun, then switches to KPFA at noon. The list of "built-in" stations is extensive (there are 2 different "repositories", which I don't fully understand, but the advanced one contained all the stations I wanted (WORT, KEXP, Free Radio Santa Cruz, etc.). Reorganization of stations from the original categorization offered was also simple and intuitive... as is the whole app. I have no connection with this app except as a happy user who was SO glad to find someone, apparently, who can code... not just use the limited android media functions.

[Q] Music playing related questions - some answers - another question

I posted this in the old Atrix 4G forum, before this existed. I now have an a partial answer to C. More comments / questions embedded.
I just came from the Windows Mobile world and needed to research how to listen / watch live streams.
A) Trying to listen to streaming audio (mp3) from a webpage. Leaving the web browser stops the audio. Besides trying to find the stream in a separate program, is there a browser (or other way) to keep the music playing?
B) Is there a way to keep the music streaming with the screen off (to save battery power)?
>>Item A/B I have yet to find a webbrowser which will continue to play in the background or stream with the screen off. Other music programs do work.
C) Is there a way to get embedded WMV/WMA (http/mms/.wmv/.wma/.asx/.asp) to stream, embedded or kicked off from a webpage?
I still can't fine a program which a browser will kick off if the browsers doesn't support it internally for an embedded media file. Any ideas?
Regarding entering in URLs directly. Using XiiiaLive I am able to stream a *.pls file and *.asx file. And in order to get the *.asp file to work, I'm able to open the file in a webbrowser, which then kicks off XiiiaLive and it works.
Unfortunately, it only plays the audio of video streams (even an *.wma) and on a recorded stream, you still can't fastforward or rewind. This is the only program I have found on the market that seems to support the various playlists / wrappers. I haven't found such a player for video.
In order to play WAV voicemail files in email, I used Remote Wave. It currently has a bug, that you need to kill it between uses. They are working on it.
I have been using the phone during my runs and out of 6 runs I have yet to have music last the whole time. I have used iheart and I have used the radio and both times after about 15-25 mins it will stop. Don't know.if lose signal or if runkeeper is doing it but it pisses me off.
Do you have task manager set to kill any apps or your music player. If so that could be the cause.
No. Why would that help? Think too many going on so system shuts it down?
No I had similar problems with my OG. When I set it to kill a few apps I had accidentally set it to automatically shut off my music payer also and it drove me crazy till I found it.

[Q] Youtube: App to play playlists in background? Viral Popup no follow playlist

So I'm trying to use Youtube as a music player app on my vanilla Android phone, shame on me.
I want to be able to login to my account, start a playlist, and listen to the track in the background, Viral Pop works well and sounds great, but as far as I can tell there's no way to get it to follow playlists (so one song is played at the time).
I contacted the Viral Pop maker and he sent me an apk to allegedly enable playlist following, but it still ain't working.
