If seen that some smartphones with 320x240 pixel QVGA display have a Qualcomm MSM7227 processor, that could be clocked up to 528 MHz. That this processor is just built in devices up to QVGA resoltion, I think like the MSM7225 it provides no graphic acceleration. But what is the difference between MSM7225 und MSM7227 processor ?
No idea friend difference between MSM7225 und MSM7227 processor.. iam new here
google to the rescue

Thx for this link.
The details are a bit scratchy around for these chips but they both appear to have graphic acceleration in the form of a Adreno 200 but the Wikipedia page for Imageon only shows the MSM7x27 as having the Adreno 200
I apparently can't post links because I just signed up but this is from CNX Software's site:
* MSM7225
The MSM7225 chipset includes a 528 MHz ARM11 processor with a floating point unit (FPU). A 400 MHz modem processor, 320 MHz DSP, hardware-accelerated 3D graphics, integrated Bluetooth 2.0 and GPS capabilities, a 5-megapixel camera and 30 fps WVGA video encode / decode are also included.
* MSM7227
The MSM7227 chipset includes a 600 MHz ARM11 processor with a floating point unit (FPU). A 400 MHz modem processor, 320 MHz DSP, hardware-accelerated 3D graphics, integrated Bluetooth 2.1 and GPS capabilities, an 8-megapixel camera and 30 fps WVGA video encode / decode are also included.

Ha! I like
MSM7225 does not have floating point unit, level 2 cache as per :
http://wmpoweruser.com/a-look-at-the-qualcomm-msm7227-chipset-in-htc-trophy-tera-and-photon/
MSM7225 lower than MSM7227
What i can say,
MSM7225 lower than MSM7227 by number, this is my opinion, what is lower that is worse.
The more so both is Qualcomm labeled.
Look out, 7225 would give you 512 MHz, when 7227 - give you 600MHz.
When you have exactly equal characteristics, i think its weighty argument.
But i will happy to see some comparison of 512 Mhz with 512Mb RAM vs 600Mhz with 256RAM, or 512 Mhz with 256 RAM vs 600Mhz with 512Mb RAM.
Some body told me, how i can get such information?
I now, this is must be some of manufacturer's site.
Where every popular programs are tested, with graph's by time, RAM size, PROC time, etc.
PM, if you so good, please.
Thx.
i just want to ask if its normal to only be getting 1000 ~ 1100 gpu score on antutu benchmark???
mali 400, adreno 220 and the ulp on my one x all get atleast 1300 ~ 1600 score
what bothers me is that the adreno 220 should have a lower clock speed than the ulp on the tegra 2 but still gets higher marks...
i get around 1115~ but still it does make sense that the tegra 3 in a one x is more powerful
and clock speed is not everything at all. Efficency and architecture matter a lot in determining the power of a gpu
Eg an i7 clocked at 4ghz will be a huge ammount more powerful than a phenom II clocked at 4ghz
Hi, I mainly want to know this because I was looking at a custom ROM for my Liquid Metal today and I saw that one had an app to overclock the Adreno 205 to 384mhz. So what is the Adreno 205 usually? and what is the frequency of some of the higher end chips? Adreno 220, 225 etc.
Thanks
Adreno 220 runs at 266 Mhz.
Adreno 225 runs at 400 Mhz.
Adreno 205 runs probably around 200-300 Mhz range.
Overall, clock speeds mean very little in terms of graphics performance. With each new Adreno GPU, the overall technology of the chip is upgraded so that it will perform much better. Overclocking it will give it only a little performance boost.
Mali 450 octa (the one rumored to be used on the note 3 ) VS PowerVR SGX 544MP3 (this is the one used on the Samsung galaxy s4 octa) ?
Which do you think is better?
Thanks

Tough one, from what i gather it seems that it is more sensible that samsung should use a tablet gpu in the note 3(eg.Mali-T604), the Mali-450 in an 8-core GPU while the PVR SGX 554Mp3 is a 3-core, the Mali-450 MP8 is a 2*Mali-400 MP4(not a very nice thing to do genii -_-) http://www.arm.com/files/event/3_ARM_Mali-450_Introduction.pdf so thats 2 x mali-400 benchmarks. according to http://www.cnx-software.com/2013/01...e-gcxxx-vs-powervr-sgx-vs-nvidia-geforce-ulp/ , texture pixel rate for the Mali-400 is 1.6G Pix/s for 1 core @ 400 MHz and the SGX is 1 G Pix/s per core @ 200 MHz, that means its 1.6 * 8 for the mali-450 MP8 and for the SGX is 2 * 3 **not sure here, could be 2*3 or 4*3** . Which means that the mali 450 mp8 is in total capable of 12.8G pix/s and the SGX 544 mp3 is capable of 6G pix/s AT 400 MHZ ONLY!! keep in mind that the sgs2 came out at 267 Mhz is something like that happened it would change the game completely. so at the same speed the mali-450 wins but i think it will consume alot more power than the sgx 544 mp3 since its 8 cores vs 3 cores, and i dont think u need that power in a 1080p device, so i feel it will be clocked much lower than 400 at maybe 200 or 250, giving it the same performance as the SGX at 533.
About mali 450 octa core?

Hey the mali 450 is not an octa 8 core GPU , it has 4 cores not 8!!!
it has 4 fragment processors and MAY BE SCALABLE TO 8. so there are not 8 because I checked wth arm in their forums :laugh::good:

actually there many different variants of mali 450 2,3,4,8 cores.
Also check this "http://www.notebookcheck.net/ARM-Mali-450-MP4.116281.0.html"
Arm mali 450 mp
Looking on the ARM site. It lists MALI-300, MALI-400 MP, MALI-450 MP. Nowhere does it list MP2 or MP6 or anything like this. The ARM site also has a diagram image of the MALI-450 MP. It has 8, I repeat 8! Fragment Processors.
Next!
Go to Wikipedia! Do a search for MALI-450 MP. You will get a page titled MALI (GPU). On that page, as it states in the page title, is a list of all of the MALI GPU's. The MALI-450 MP is listed as having 4-8 cores. The MP2, MP4 and MP6 variants have come onto the GPU as variants for the SoC they are running with. Listed is AMLogic with the 8726-M8 series (M801, M802, S801, S802) for the MP6 and 8726-M8B series (M805, S805) for the MP2. MediaTek with the MTK6592 Octa SoC has the Mali-450 MP4 @ 700 MHz.
So!
The literature and ARM specs have the MALI-450 MP listed with Multi Core Scaling of 1-8 cores. Wiki has listed as 4-8 cores. Therefore, how can anyone say that it is a 4 core? It is an 8 CORE GPU.
I am no expert and I DEFINITELY don't purport to know more than any of you guys. But I do my research! However, if you have evidence to prove that I am wrong, by all means, PLEASE!?! Present it. If I am wrong I need to know! Knowledge is gathered by going down the many paths presented, many of which appear correct to start with but can be false. This is the joy of learning. How else do we answer the myriad questions we have running through our minds.
how to overclock mali octa?
Rank the following according to gaming performance only:
*Snapdragon 600 + Adreno 320 400 Mhz (Xiaomi Mi2S)
*MTK6592 + Mali 450-MP4 700 Mhz (Jiayu J5S)
*Exynos 5 Octa 5410 + PowerVR SGX544MP3 533 Mhz (Meizhu MX3)
I'm pretty much sure that the Adreno 320 is the best among these, but what I'd like to know is how much are the rest lagging behind?
I'm only interested in high-end gaming.

Samsungs Exynos is pretty good, little behind snapdragon, so is the powerVR, though not as great as adreno. MTK and Mali are terrible. they try to lock people in with the high numbers and "Octa" cores. its not bad cpus/gpus they just lag far behind exynos and snapdragon.
