just tried to restore my nandroid that i made of my phone before i flashed it but i got a bad md5sum on it. i have used it before and it has worked fine but now for some reason i get that error. not sure if it was because i flashed the stock recovery and then put back CWM or not, but i have four backups and 2 work, the other 2 dont
anyway to get these back? or are they done
Did u rename the backup? U can't have any spaces in the backup which could be a problem

yes i did and it does have spaces, that would explain why the one backup i have that i did not rename worked and the other three did not
i flashed stock recovery earlier today so i can't test it now, but i renamed the folder and will nvflash cwm tonight and test, i'm sure that's what it is. i'll let you know
Omg, I actually helped someone. I'm proud of my self . Pelee know if it worked

I believe he means the unmounting issue. I have the same issue, I cant restore a backup or wipe the system when I flash a new ROM in cwm. It sucks.

Ah. I got that too when I was using GB. Wouldn't actually mount or unmount any partitions right? Really annoying. Didn't try bothering with it it too much so I'm back on Froyo
The problem is that it won't mount system. One thing you can do is re-install the Rom zip then do a advanced restore of DATA only in CMW.
WOW GEE THANKS MAN! haha but jager beat ya too it just reflash the rom you backed up and just restore the data

THANKS IN ADVANCED.
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
Accidentally hit thanks, so you're welcome for that. But other than that, it's a common file, accessible by other applications. Why, what is it you're doing that involves it?
Thanks.
I see in the running apps in the settings tab.

Well some people were asking if it's safe to remove.
I detected source of com.leg.model:
/system/framework/RES_model.apk
Try deleting it.
Did anyone delete???
What were the results???
Thanks in advance.

If your phone is rooted, use Titanium Backup and "Freeze" it, then wait and see what happens.

You can try my rom.... catyrom or any of the i9000 ports...
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using xda premium
I currently have tried refuse 1.7, caty 1.0 & 1.5; currently running caty 1.5. I would recommend caty rom, the only thing I notice is the data sometimes cuts out and I have to restart my phone, also it shows the rom as "caty v2.0" in the "about" section of the phone, but the post says 1.5 so I am not sure what it is. But it's very simple to install and to run. Just make sure you follow directions to a T. When it says to let it reboot and sit for ten minutes actually do it. DONT FORGET TO HAVE A BACKUP IN CWM. Make sure it's rooted, I tried to root mine with Superoneclick and it didn't root properly, I had to use the odin with 3e recovery and root preset, then I was able to install roms. Good luck to you.
Yea...sorry...need to fix build prop...lol...keep forgetting to do that...and the service cutting out may just be the modem...

Are you using ROM Manager? if so, that is probably why you can't get it to work. just 3 button into recovery mode, go to backup and restore, and click backup. It should take a little while to work, and you can watch it go through all of the files as it backs them up.

tried using rom manager install rom from sd didnt work it said app2sd now found
tried manual install from recovery mode cant find the file from my sd but when i check it its in the external
dunno whats wrong
Do not use rom manager!! When you transfer ron from computer make sure you send it to your 14 gb SD card and it will show up...do not flash anything or download any roms thru rom manager!

It is also helpful to create a folder on the SD card named "1 rom" so you can keep all your downloaded roms in one place and then you also don't have to scroll far with the volume keys since the folder will be at the top of the list all the time

I don't see how that would happen unless he flashed a CM rom meant for a different phone on his VZW GSIII. So your friend no longer has the /EFS folder correct? What is his phone doing now or rather what is he unable to do presently? Does it boot? Able to get into download mode or recovery? Not making calls/texts/data?
I'm a little surprised by this, I'm not too sure how to fix an entire missing EFS folder.

He is thinking of reseting then download counter and sending it back to Samsung because it still is under warranty

But he doesn't have a previous EFS backup to begin with. How does he make a new one?
I keep a EFS backup in my internal sdcard with a list of the various permissions, so I have one just in case something terrible happens
