I always had issues with the peel application shutting off my tv, but now after doing the update to the application today it's working flawlessly.
If any of you had the same issue, give it another shot.

Thanks for the heads up. Before peel wouldn't work at all. So far works great again

I'm not sure if it was in any of the prior updates, but now the app starts on boot. I don't know about anyone else, but i prefer to only have things running when I want them to. I'm sure it's not that much of a battery drain, but it was enough reason for me undo the update...
Thanks guys! I work for Peel. Recent updates no longer trying to power on your TVs when internally the app state machine thinks your TV is off
@zetajunkie both the Samsung IR service and push notification service requires ON_BOOT_COMPLETE permission.
@codeshogun, you wouldnt be able to help with any anonymous leaked jell bean builds, would you?
thanks. nice app but needs larger sized remote option and be fast to actually replace real remote.
thanks. peace.

Is there a way to receive notifications from my EVO 3D on my Transformer?
the only thing i can think of is maybe like vnc server apps like that i know i can access my phone from my tablet home screen and all ... i think that might be the best option of apps similar to that.
That was the first thing i considered also. Seems like a battery drainer to keep running all the time(in my head anyway). I was hoping for a bluetooth type option(also a drainer lol).
Sorry on bluetooth option, not much I can suggeest on that one good luck

I purchased a motoactv and couldn't use the notification feature because the app is only able to be downloaded on a Motorola handset through Android Market. I have a HTC Sensation and i get the yellow banner in market.
I was wondering if someone maybe has the Motoactv apk and could lend it out?

you would get my eternal love and gratitude as well if you could post it! but how do you like yours so far MarsVoltron?
I love the concept of receiving notifications on my
Wrist since i always miss phone calls AND texts.
I just can't use the feature since I'm with HTC and not MOTO
I wish it did have more options for personalization, EQ for music, or use it as a remote to control music already on your Android device.
But until I get the MOTOACTV app its a big waste of cash.
Do you also have one?

I tried messing around with my Nook to fool the market into thinking it was a motorola, no luck so far. I hope somebody with a moto phone can get this apk!
I will have a Motorola Droid a little later. I looked on Motorola's list of compatible phones and it was listed.
I was wondering what would be the easiest way to pull the apk? It's my friends phone and don't wanna mess it up.
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA App
The way I've done it is to just install mybackup from the market, back up the app to the sd card, put the sd card in the computer and open the folder it backed up to. There will be an apk right inside the folder.
Would love for this app to work with my HTC Glacier Mytouch 4G. The fitness tracker isn't cheap and I want the full functionality. A thank you in advance to anyone that can pull the apk.
Yeah I know exactly how you feel. I purchased it primarily for the the notification feature. My guess is we probably won't see anything till a little bit after the new Razr is launched.
But ill have a droid later and pull it from there.

i got the apk off a droid 2 but couldn't get it to install on my EVO, it would just fail saying application not installed, its attached in case any of you can figure out
after looking into it further it seems like the install fails because it requires access to com.motorola.blur.contacts.permission and blur.service.blur.Permissions.INTERACT_BLUR_SERVICE which both don't exist on my EVO...
anyone know a way around this?
Thanks for posting the apk. I found a way to remove the Blur permissions and it installed on my Samsung charge. I don't get the watch until tomorrow, but it looks like the app is working fine Someone with one check it out and let me know.

awesome...it worked! You da man! I don't know if future updates will install but this is definitely awesome, can you share how you removed the permissions so I'll know how to do it for future updates?
by the way...just tested it with my EVO and the watch and it works great, tried a few test txts and got the notification on the watch, and it listed the contact name too
Awesome I'm glad it works! I just searched around xda for some info on editing apk files and found this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=695701
Once you get it extracted there is a file named AndroidManifest.xml I opened it with notepad deleted the blur permissions, then used that app to repackage and sign the app. It was kind of a crap shoot on my part but it worked the first try
Awesome! Great job loaded on and paired with my watch perfectly I just have a problem receiving calls through the watch. Doesn't ring or anything with or without a headset attached.

Thanks guys have it installed on my Casio Commando, It is working great with text messages.
I dont have it working with phone calls but I think it is because I have standard headphones installed (no microphone) I will test that later.
Thanks a million
This is my first post but as someone who is striving to lose 30 more pounds after losing 55, this is awesome work. I own the EVO and this connectivity was the dealbreaker for me. For Motorola-tied huge to google to hitch their wagon to only Moto phones is a joke, especially on a device that runs Android.
Enough of my rant, thanks again for enabling this on other phones!!

I might be wrong on this, but you might need to pair the headset with the phone and not the watch. So both the watch and the headset are paired with the phone, give it a try.
Okay so bear with me here. I'm trying to figure out a way to connect my Samsung SGH-I927 (Captivate Glide) to the Note 10.1 so I can use the physical keyboard to type with on the tablet. Is this possible in any way so I can use the tablet as a monitor and my phone as a keyboard?
Sent from my GT-N8013 using XDA Premium HD app
No you cannot do that as to recognize the phone drivers will be required which is not possible
Why dont you just buy a usb keyboard in that case a cheaper option or a bluetooth one
Oh okay, I was just wondering if it was possible. I wanted to find another way for people to type on the tablet without having to buy a new device. Thanks for the answer though.

Sv: Connecting a phone with the Note 10.1 in order to use the phone's keyboard?
There are apps to remotely control other Android devices, isn't it possible that such a solution will work? Since you can control the controlled device both with the actual device and with the device acting as a remote control, you should be able to use your tablet for everything and then just use your phone to write. I've not tried this though, if anything I would like to use my tablet keyboard to my SGS3 but since I can send sms using my tablet there's really no point to be honest.

You understand what I'm trying to achieve here right? It would be nice to be able to type on the tablet without having the virtual keyboard come up on the screen, using your phone as the keyboard for your tablet. (I'm assuming it's easier for most people to type faster on the phone rather than tablet). I'm not talking just sms, more as overall typing in every app, if possible.
Again, this is just a question which I'm hoping that we can find an alternative to using a bluetooth keyboard. It would be helpful for anyone who doesn't want to lug around more accessories for their tablet.

I think so! I'm sorry if I confused you with the talk about sms, that's just a sidetrack why I don't think many have this kind of suggestion.
However, my solution for you would be this:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tournesol.tabletremote something like this, an app that allows you to remotely control another Android device including typing words (at least that's what the description tells). So, you use your tablet like you use to do and when you click on something where you wish to write you minimize the software keyboard on the tablet and use the phone instead.
I've not tried the app though, but there's a couple of different apps that do almost the same but in different ways and hopefully someone will do the trick.

No, it's okay, i just didn't want to be limited to sms .
I was looking at apps last night but it was late and didn't feel like running tests on different applications. I looked at that yesterday, I'm going to try it out later today. (still in bed at the moment since it's only 6:47 am). I also saw this app, and the interface seems basic. https://play.google.com/store/apps/...m=organic&utm_term=android+mouse+and+keyboard I feel like this could work also. The remote desktop by Kolakowski Damian doesn't let you control the tablet in the manner that you want to.

Well, there's a chance that you have to test a couple of different apps before you find someone that does what you want it to do and more importantly, in the way you want it to. But I can't see why you shouldn't be able to do it, I have the Unified Remote app to control my PC with my phone and typing works great even though I don't get any auto correction. After all, it's a quite simple feature and shouldn't involve too much data transfers that can cause lag if implemented correctly.

Tablet remote definitely works, but there's one major problem to it when you use the physical keyboard on the glide. If I wanted to enter special characters (colon, semicolon, apostrophes) it would not register on the tablet and only certain keys would hit. It works for the regular virtual keyboard on the phone.
If you want an alternative, smaller keyboard for easier typing, try out tablet remote. I'm sure there are more apps which I will look into and post on here.

I'm basically just guessing here, but I think that might be because you are not using the same ASCII codes on your OS as your app. In my opinion that shouldn't be a problem since it should just send the codes to the other device, but if it's converting it to text before sending it over there might be a problem. After all, the most common use for this app I suppose is typing in an URL or maybe search for a song, at least that's that I'm doing when remotely control another device.
If there's not any settings where to specify regions in the app, hopefully there's an app that supports US (?) keyboards.

I have extracted the Amazon Instant Video app from my Google TV device. It opens on the Note 8, you can select videos, but on trying to actually stream the video you selected, it crashes. If there are any talented people on this forum who want to try playing with the .apk file to see if they can fix it, or if there's someone willing to host this file, let me know and I will email it to you.

You would also need to get the Flash enabled version of GTV Chrome working, since that is really what the app relies on.
EDIT: At least that is the case on the Sony NSZ-GT1. If it is different for your device, I'll have a look, but from what research I have done, it is not an easy task & it will involve a few modifications that will not sit well with other apps or the Play Store.
Post it up though, I just got my dev environment setup on my new machine & the missus will be out of town this weekend.
Unfortunately you're right. The Google TV Chrome app will not install on the Note.
There doesn't seem to be a way to post files through the XDA app, but I can email them to whoever wants them.

Well, I have to report that I have had little luck getting this to work on any non-GTV device. I even built an AOSP build with using a GTC boardconfig. No luck.
I am very pissed with Amazon though, so I went & bought a LTE KF HD 8.9 & I am going to play with getting it working on other tablets. Man I hate the Kindle stock experience. Thank goodness for root. I'll let you know if I find a simple way to get it running, but it will take some time as business is wicked crazy right now.
Any luck?

Yes & no. I have firstly been playing with the Nexus 10 & the KF HD 8.9. I was able to finally get AVOD to work on the Nexus 10, BUT, *BUT*, I essentially had toport the entire KF rom to the Nexus 10. It is buggy & there are some graphical & resolution issues, but it worked.
The only other instance I have found was also similar. A guy got it working on a Galaxy Tab, essentially doing the same thing, porting the whole KF rom.
You could of course use a different launcher, but it is still ICS, 4.0.3, & aside from losing a lot of the N10 cool features, it really is far from stable. I don't have a lot of time for this stuff at the moment, work is crazy busy these days. At any rate, I am going to see if I can try to go about it the other way & try to port some of the KF framework & core apps to JB when I get some time. Right now though, it is a no go.
So I've been looking at the smart watches and just wondering if they are really worth the money. I have an s3 so what features would it really have? Thanks

Then i also bought it coz i can't be all the day looking at my phone. with it i can just see which whatsapp notifications are important enough to answer.
when i had it i noticed that it also have twitter but i dt use it a lot.
the other apps for me are not very important.

If you use Instant Messaging and Social apps, these are perfect.
Since you will always wear it(I assume), it will push to you notifications you would need.
There are also apps made for it(GPS Map, Calendar, Sports Trackers, etc.) that makes it better.
Can we have heart rate monitoring with the watch (with or without an ant+ band?)
I won mine at the XDA Devcon in Miami. I love it. I was missing calls from being away from my desk and the phone on silent. Now I don't. It rocks.

So I am new here, however, I have been thinking of the idea of a smart watch or band, " the quotes, or in thought of...
But seems more lately watches are a thing of the past like in the movie apprenticeship, more people use their phones for checking time or setting alarms,
I do like the nfc enable features I.E phone music streaming, media playback, pedometer, so on, is Sony the brand to go with in that aspect?
