Cannot turn on touch sounds in cm9/aokp - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

no matter what I do touch sounds will NOT turn on its driving me CRAZYYYYYY
EDIT: I have touch sounds but they are so quiet it is impossible to hear unless your ear is against the phone is this a normal glitch?

Um... make sure system volume is up. Should be the only thing that prevents touch sounds. Unless you're ROM has it tweaked to be like that on purpose. I had to use sound manager from play store once on a HTC phone to adjust this feature also. But i've never had this happen on the skyrocket.

How to fix inaudible call volume

Running stock 2.3.3. Even with call volume maxed out I can barely hear the person on the other end. I have tried with multiple calls to multiple people and get the same thing.
Anyone know how to fix this problem?
Anyone experienced something similar?

i have that problem, i tend to use speaker more. hopefully a mod comes soon
I'm running CM7 RC1 with Voodoo kernel, not sure if the Voodoo sound patch has any part in this, but the volume on my phone is quite loud when using Skype. But in a noisy environment, I'd rather use a pair of noise blocking earphone or headset.
Yea i can barely hear the other person as well. I dont know if its just in my head but it almost seems like it started after the 2.3.3 update

During a call turn the volume down and then back up. When you turn it down you won't notice much difference but you will when you turn it up again. It seems that the volume settings thinks it's at max when it isn't and you need to reset it by turning it down.
Hmm ill give that a shot

Don't think so. The same issue was present with the N1, kernel developers implemented an audio boost feature that really helped this issue out. Hopefully we will see the same for the NS soon enough.
I would LOOOOOVE for an audio boost similar to the N1 to be implemented for the NS.

[Q] volume of the front speakers? Help please
hello all
does anyone know the phonecodes for the nexus s (service mode)? I want to increase the handset (speaker to the ear)!
in the galaxy s, he is **#*#197328640#*# but not work
nexus s CM7 netarchy 1.2.7
sorry for my bad english
does anybody know how to raise the volume of the front speakers?
I'd like to do this also. Default max volume is too low, sometimes hard to hear what people say.
exactly!
It must be possible to increase the volume
with the voodoo kernel only the speakers on the back work
I have the same problems, in call volume is too low :-( and its not the provider because with my Galaxy S the volume is okay.
Phone speaker is quiet but with my bt earpiece I can get it loud enough to hurt my ears.
Sent from my MattedBlues CM7 Nexus S from the XDA Premium app.
i don't know about you guys, but i have no problem hearing the call even in busy ( noisy ) streets environments.
using any of the 3 methods:
normal ear speaker
back speaker
BT headset
on 2.3.3 stock, no mods of any kind
temporarily solution:
During call set volume to min and then to max and then it's OK. After reboot problem is back.

Never really paid attention until I noticed that I couldn't really hear you tube videos and music! Which was fine before, it was loud enough! So it was then I realized sound was only coming out one side so dunno!
I'm getting a replacement either way and I'll compare the two!

i use a program like total recorder to boost the volume of my ringtones, then copy them back to my sdcard. there are a couple of free apps online that do the same.

volume+ seems to let you do some audio tweaking i had the same problem where my audio was all the way up and wasnt very loud i downloaded and installed Volume+ i think it is on the market not sure but this allowed me to run my volume at 1/2 up and its loud as heck
it sets speaker, headset and as well as bluetooth volume levels
This doesn't allow me to boost past factory settings

Notification sounds don't shut off

Anyone else have this problem? Can't imagine I'm missing a setting.... Mute generally means mute.

Samsung wants me to send the phone in to fix this but I'm not sure being without a phone for a week or more is worth. Plus, I'm pretty sure if I install a custom ROM this problem will disappear. I'm frustrated, this is a stupid easy problem to fix (with an app) but a BRAND NEW phone should not have this problem to begin with. I wonder if I flashed the stock rom on top of the stock rom (lol) if that would work? Only one other person has this problem?

As a workaround you can choose "Silent" as your Notification sound.
If you only need this functionality at work for example look at Llama that will allow you to configure it very easy.

I've tried Llama before but really didn't look into it too far. Where I work is only about 3 miles from my house so I'm bouncing off the same tower in both places..... Did not work too well with Llama. Can someone check if there volume shows the same as mine when set on mute? The only thing muting is the ring tone. Just curious...

I see the same thing if I set the phone for Silent mode.
There's all different notification sound settings in this phone, I've noticed - my email accounts have their own notification settings per account, messaging has its setting, etc.
Maybe Silent mode primarily silences ringtones and doesn't prevent separate apps from making sounds? Which types of notifications continue to make sounds?
- ooofest
All of them. Anything not set to silent (email, text, messaging, etc) makes a audible notification when the phone is set on mute. Also, when my phone is set on vibrate I also have audible notifications.

From the User Manual, pg 124:
Use Silent modes to temporarily silence the sounds your
phone makes, except for media playback and alarms, or
replace them with vibration.

So, it doesn't seem to claim affecting your sounds beyond the ringer and maybe keypad noises or similar. Working as designed, it seems (not that I agree with their design, in this case).

To me that means it should silence notifications since it's not "media" or "alarm"? I'm just going to buy sound manager since it has more options anyway..... $2.99 to end my frustration with this

I would classify "alarm" as notifications, in trying to interpret their jargon for the context given.
Yeah, an app which can configure sounds across all your apps and settings seems best, here.

Appreciate you looking that up in the manual. I actually downloaded it after your post . I bought the app and set my work and mute profiles... Nice app. I know this is stupid thing to worry about but it gets frustrating when I get woke up or a notification goes off during a meeting. Silent on the sound manager app silences everything.

Notifications through Headphones

I really hate that when i have headphones in, or speakers, the phone still makes the sound for a notification.
I found this tasker script that SHOULD do it, but i can't get it to work.
Anybody smarter than me wanna help me get it to work?

Try putting the phone on vibrate lol
If you have a kernel that supports Voodoo Sound, what you can do is install the Voodoo Sound app and enable the "Don't interrupt music" setting. That setting puts your phone on silent whenever you have headphones plugged in. Super convenient

i want to have headphones or a speaker in
i want my notification volume one
i want the notification to play through the connected speaker

Nikcu13,
Ok, so it sounds like this might make for a neat libaudio/SGS4GParts hack for this kind of functionality.
File an enhancement bug here.

You're right. It is probably something super easy.
But, I am unemployed. I have a wife and daughter, and limited time to even look at my sgs4g.
When I do stuff, I get a bunch done in a little time frame. Probably about 5 hours a week.
The rest of the time, I'm trying to get a job, interviewing, dealing with rejection, taking my daughter to the playground, figuring out how I'm going to pay my bigger bills, etc...
You could always bone up and learn some C and go look at the wm8994 driver and libaudio in the device tree and fix it yourself. I know hampsterblade did it once, and we happily merged his change!

Had this issue on ics . In the other ROMs i noticed that the volume becomes very less after some time ( not mute though ). Reboot as usual fixes it.
i also have similar issue. sometimes audio doesn't work in music player/games. then i pause the player/game, go to home and increase phone volume using vol. up key. it usually fixes the issue

My guess is you have lint stuck in there. If you keep your phone in your pocket, especially with jeans and similar materials, lint tends to find its way into the jack. I get this all the time, and audio cuts in and out, and you sometimes have to force the plug in hard to get it to work at all. Turn the phone off and pull the battery out (really, do it) then bend a small paper clip so it is strait with just a little hook on the end, and carefully use it to pull the lint out of the jack. A bright light is helpful in the process. If I am right, you will be amazed at how much you can pull out, and if you get it clear it hopefully will work again.
I found out if you have your ringtones to vibrate or mute, the sound will stay working. So in other words, keep your phone on either and you'll be good . It's something to do with JB. I did some searching and came across a thread somewhere on xda saying it's something with custom JB ROMs across all devices, even nexus devices. What happens may vary, but in the end JB has audio issues

Yeah. I had the issue for the LONGEST time, now it is working fine 24/7, like I have all sounds working no problem. If it starts doing it again, I'll post here to let you guys know. If it doesn't **** up again, then all I can say is for anyone who get the issue, just stick to vibrate only for notifications and your other sounds (music, etc) will work fine.
I don't know if it matter's or not, but I am running the PAC-man ROM, the most recent v4 6/12/13. It might even be something with the default notification sounds being used. I am using sounds for my notifications from Zedge.
