LG launcher 3.0 - HTC One S

Anyone try this out yet? I'd like to see this cooked into a Rom or modified for our devices
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1685484
The lockscreen from the o4x has been ported to nexus aokp too, I'm sure someone talented in here can make this happen for us

Why does it need modification? The way I see it it should work by just pushing it to system/app (or maybe data/app). No need to make a rom only because of one launcher

Because it hasn't been ported to qhd yet, I don't want a Rom just because of this I want to maybe see it in future Roms what if someone wanted to make a Rom based on LG ui so yea....

It says it's for xhdpi. We're xhdpi, though some stuff may look weird. Try it and see if anything is misaligned.

are you a developer?
Yes, i've developed a couple of apps but want to try porting

First you gotta get it to boot on your device. Then you've gotta resize all the dimensions in the apks to fit your device then I guess you would have to get wifi, gps and so fourth to work

[Q] [REQ] Gingerbread Dialer/Contacts APK?

This might be a kind of noob-ish request, but I'm trying to avoid rooting (I know, I know) and wondered if there was a way to port over the dialer-contacts in APK form from 2.3.
I would appreciate any help/guidance.
Did anything change in the dialer between Froyo and Gingerbread?
Took these off my Nexus S. Not sure if they'll work but here you go!

Be careful. Make a backup of the original apks first (or a full nandroid backup) . if they don't work, they're likely to cause the system to crash-loop (continuous FCs). Happened too me when trying a moded phone.apk before.
Aren't the dialers the same, I didn't notice any differences apart from the look, from froyo and now on gingerbread

Thanks for the fast response, but I'm getting a parse error trying to install the APKs.
To everyone else: I'm mostly trying to get something more like AOSP over the stock HTC stuff, and most of what I've found on here is stuff designed to flash on top of ROMs for rooted phones.

no problem, if you didnt notice yet, theres two themes left in the thread
I used this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1220695
I can't tell if it's the same launcher or if it's different or not? In any case, I made a MIUI theme for more icons in that same thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18058974&postcount=361

Don't mind at all. In the post I even mention that I may not be able to keep it up to date, so I'm totally cool with anyone else updating it, making changes, mods or whatever.. as long as I can find links to it just in case I wanna put a modified one on my phone.
I think I might stick with this instead of going the route of modified ROMs (MIUI ports) until those builds get official. The phone works SO much better with a modified Sense build.
I want to try to modify the MIUI Launcher to have a 5x4 layout, but I can't remember how to compile the apk after you modify it. It's been a while, so I can't really remember all the steps for using apktool on a Mac. Whenever I go to install it, the app doesn't install so I'm doing *something* wrong.
We need more support for these ROMs for the Sensation

Keep an eye out for xboarder56. He's building miui for sensation. He's.also working on pure aosp for sensation as well. His hybrid cm7/aosp is great. I liked it better than straight cm7.
Is xboaders miui real and not a rip? And there is a miui rom out here

There is an actual miui rom on the miui site but trips from modaco is the best. I might try doing a sense based rom with this launcher instead of sense but I'm a noob and have never cooked one up before but I could always try

The one on miui site is trips rom. Ha. They ripped it.

xboarder's been on a trip since getting in drama with cm7 team. He's trying to build everything from scratch now. Not 100% sure about MIUI being scratch or not. I didn't really look into it too much. But from what I saw on G+ it looks legit i think.

[MOD] Extended Quick Settings

So this seems to be the standard of all standard mods for Sense 3 so I thought I'd port it first and post it for everyone to use.
Requirements
rooted
using a DEODEXED ROM
must know how to use ADB or have CWM installed
I used Paul's deodexed stock ROM to build this from.
Had my buddy jface test it out and it seems to be working, here's a screenie he sent me back
Installation
You can either flash the attached zip (untested, someone test it for me!), or push the attached SystemUI.apk to /system/app/SystemUI.apk.
MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP! Just do it. Always. It's so much easier than having to recover from a bad flash or something.
good look bro you beat me to it hahaha thanks man!!
Nice. Trying this out now. Now I can get rid of my profile widget lol.
Sent from my MyTouch 4G Slide
awesome mod! thanks a lot
Thank you! Work's great!
Lily.
can this be merged with UOT? that mod themes the battery and also patches SystemUI.apk.
So only 1 sticks .
The flashable zip does not work for me.
CRT ON/OFF HERE
Has anyone tested to see if this works on Sense 2.1 Gingerbread ROMS?
Sadly I'm still rocking an HTC HD2 and I'm running 2.3.3 with Sense 2.1.
I don't mind being a guinea pig after a nandroid backup but I just figured I'd ask if anyone tried it yet first.
It won't work. You will get a systemui fatal error and a force close loop.

Good to know. Does anyone here in this thread know how I can apply these same changes to my current systemui.apk?
I really like the Extended QuickSettings but I'm not too interested in running a Sense 3.0 ROM on a less than capable device like the HD2.

From the code I've looked at on Sense 3 ROMs, they typically define whether something is Sense 3 or 2 compatible. So in a real-world example when you're looking at Rosie it has two completely different implementations between 2.1 and 3 and they're both there in the code base. There was no such distinction with quick settings
Dumb ranting aside, I don't see a reason why it won't work on a Sense 2.1 device running Gingerbread. Shoot me over your SystemUI.apk and I might be able to port it. No promises, blind developing sucks

Never asked for a promise. The fact that you're willing to give it a shot, even though you don't have the same device as me is MORE than enough for me.
Here's my SystemUI.apk. Just did a nandroid backup so I'm more than happy to go flash happy right about now lol.

When you do the copy and paste method you must change the permissions. Flashing is much easier.

So, I think it IS possible, but it would take quite some time to go through and merge all the changes and match up all the IDs. I don't have the time or patience to do this as it takes a long time to communicate back and fourth for one single change, or error, etc etc.
Maybe an experienced smali hacker from the HD2 can port it over?
Sorry man

No worries. Like I said, I thought it was cool and figured it would be nice to have. I never expected you to spend a ton of time porting it over. Figured if the current one worked for Sense 2.1 then I'd try it. If not, maybe some other time. The fact that you even took a look at it was good enough for me.
Thanks again man.

[Q] Is it possible to have the Honeycomb lockscreen for other ROMs?

Can the lockscreen from romanbb's ROM ported in a form of apk or so itno other ROms so that we can use the lockscreen with other ROMs?
Thanks
Like this?
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.nanoha.MyLockScreen_free&feature=search_result
it's quite similar, but no lock sign. But it's nice though
Still waiting for other more alike options
Its in latest cyanogenmod too.
so is it possible to port it to let's say ARHD? using apk or flashing.

No, it's not possible unless romannb himslef gives you the code (to implement it) and helps you port it.

wow, a bad news it seems
try "Ripple Lock" from the market
yes, someone mentioned that before
