Thanks to everyone for your support and feedback!

I have decided to keep only the following Samsung applications:
Music Player. It's actually very well made and very suited for the 10.1'' tab screen.
Email. Very similar to stock ICS, there is little to no reason to remove it.
Contacts. Same as email.
Polaris Office. Very good, highly recommended and high performance office suite.
Some recommendations after flashing this ROM:
1. Install Adobe Flash Player from the market.
2. Install a decent file manager like File Manager HD (tablet) from the market. If you don't, you can't attach stuff to emails and so on.
3. Make a nandroid backup after full reset, just in case.
4. If you need ADB root support, you can safely flash over this ROM the rooted kernel from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1691497

Hi cheatman,
happy to see that finally there are some developers here!
Are you plannig to make any kernel modifications or a CM9 port?
Thx for developing!

I am now looking into rooting ADB for insecure mode (for the kernel) and getting a properly sized recovery out.
These will probably be ODIN flashable for the stock ROM.
I'm involved with CM9 for the P1000, but I hate watching threads. Takes a lot of time that I don't really have. If we get some proper kernel devs looking into this device maybe we'll get some real CM9 love.
In the meantime, I am concentrating on setting the stage right for them so they don't have to waste time doing anything else except develop :-D
Having a safe restock, good recovery and some base ROMs properly built to get them going will surely help. It's also great for the user community so that's what I'm focusing on right now.
Thanks and I appreciate any feedback on the Fry, lol (cracks me up every time!)
Peace,
C.

This rom also works on my Tab 2 10.1 GT-P5110 (WiFi)
After installing the rom i had no problems with root and superuser is installed
It took about 5 minutes in total to install the rom (first startup included) and it runs smooth and fast. The only thing wrong is that i have a something not working next to my wifi icon but that probably has something to do with not having an sim card in my tablet.
Thanks for the rom and keep up the good work!!
The problem is that there are no status bar icons

New version is out. You need to factory reset for this one as the google apps are updated (no more "Play Shop"!!!!)
I can pretty much feel my tab FLY right now and makes me feel like this is how Samsung intended it to run in the first place.
If you find any problems with the ROM, this is the place to ask.
Peace,
C.

This should work fine on the 5110, yes?
Any chance that we keep the tablet calendar a part of it, or is that not an issue?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2

Do not flash this on P5110 or P5113.
Although it will not brick your tab, it is not designed for it and will not work as intended. The 5100 has 3G capabilities, while your tab does not.
The original Samsung calendar will not be included into the ROM again.

To be honest it is working great on my P5110. The only "thing" i have is an no-signal icon next to the clock, just as martijn.vanpoorten mentioned. But i don't see that as a problem.
The rom is far more responsive than the stock one. Now that i'm used to it i can't go back to the stock rom

Are there any plans for a multi platform release?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2

Not at the moment. I don't actually plan on really making this ROM a big deal.
It wouldn't be too hard to release a version for the p5110 and/or p5113, though I don't have the devices so I would need testers.
Anyway, right now I don't plan to release anything new. Just fixes and updates, if any...
Thanks for the feedback!

Ok, new version is out.
Maps, Gmail and Street View still don't update properly, but that's nothing I can fix. Just remove the packages and install them manually from the market if you want to update. The only way I can fix this is to remove the packages myself from the ROM, which doesn't seem like a good idea at this time.
If you're coming from v3, there is no need to factory reset your device. Clear the caches though, all of them.
Cheers,
C.

Once again, new version out.
This one is much more stable and uses a new stock ROM base and now includes a rooted kernel that will be flashed during installation. Now only stock ROM and custom recovery are needed!
*Known issues: clicking the thumbnail after taking a picture will FC the camera*
This can only be fixed by using a different camera app. Stock ICS camera works OK (including zoom support) but will FC due to framework issues if you try to switch to panorama mode.
Enjoy!
C.

Do you think there will be a version for the P5113 in the future. Would like to see that, and to try out some CM9.
Thanks for the input.

Thus works on the 5113 already, with some ui bugs.

I don't think today's release will work on 5113 / 5110 anymore. Normally it won't even work on 5100 tabs that are not flashed with the ALD7/9 stock rom first.
Feel free to try it if you're curious (it does not flash recovery, so you will be able to restore in case of trouble) and let me know.
To make a p5113/p5110 version I need two things:
1. testers (I don't have the devices)
2. a working p5113/p5110 kernel (zImage, boot.img, anything!)
3. a dump of the original system ROM or a list of the original APKs and some files extracted from
Usually I can get all I need from a stock nandroid backup. Except the testers. Obviously :-D

I did a nandroid right after rooting. How can I get you the files or where are resources where I can mess with it myself?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2

After you make a nandroid backup you will have a rommanager folder on your sdcard containing your backup. Upload the backup somewhere and give me the link to take it down and rip it open.
PS: since you backed up right after rooting I assume no personally identifiable information is present, right? Either way, just double check and make sure it's clean (factory reset) before you send it.

haven't tried it yet but it looks really impressive. Still some thinks I would change and will put back into this rom, because I think it is a little bit TOO slim, but this is everybody's own decision.
looks really nice and will be tested on the weekend.
looks promising.
a couple of questions; you've removed conversations.apk and messaging.apk. what sms app does your rom use?
i can see that you have removed talk.apk. isn't it needed to be on the phone to access the market?
Good job. Thanks for that tutorial on knocking off some cmg. Can you by any chance tell us how to make those boot only files that other mods put up. It really helps to downgrade that way. I will try this once I am back home from work.
cheers
Very clean Rom, at the moment all work for me, market work perfectly, i will test sms and this evening...

Maybe if you dont do a factory reset before installing the rom (rom does a reset before anyways). So if Talk is setup in the first place its required (I'm guessing), but so far without it works fine. Added screenshot above of market with paypal on screen.
Also tiggggr is right, the messaging apps where replaced with a stock MMS app.

If your talking about things like the Android 2.2.1 - 3.4.2-107 TMobile US modified bootloader. No idea, this flashing method I dicuss does not use/make a modified bootloader. Its just removing the Froyo bootloader and system partitions from the sbf.

Ya I have a notion that Stagefright being enabled for player streaming might be the cause. I'm looking into it.
No problem
Ok no problem, only modify the media.stagefright.enable-player=true to false or use this buil.prop
One thanks for me plz

Was uploading the new version already but thanks.
Yup Stagefright being enabled for the youtube player was causing the issue. Flash the new version and should be all set.
coming from pays 3.3
I found pays 3.3 to be laggy when trying to close apps and the network connection quite slow and jumping between 3G and H a lot. I think the network issue is causing the lag.
coming from pays 3.3 on 3.4.2_145-003. I thought I'd wipe and factory reset before installing Lawnchair.zip
This left me with a clean ROM but with no home app and having wiped in clockwork recovery meant no debug for an ADB push. I didn't check for ADB connection but I found that voice commands would run and that allowed the selection of clockwork, so no need to reflash sbf.
Just a note if anyone sees this.
ROM has booted now and looks good, people shouldn't complain about what's missing, nothing's missing if you have ever used Titanium or Appmonster.

Ya the reason for re-flashing the sbf is because other rom's (and mine) do remove apps from the system folder. Something which a factory reset wont fix.
However, because my rom does include all stock system apps; yes this should work but like you said if your missing a Launcher in your system folder it will make it complicated.
Otherwise, glad to here its up and running.
thank you very much for the work. the downgrade method you just included are new to me. As long as i´m working on DefyFroyoSense Beta01 and cant fix the camera flash problem, i think your way to flash Froyo and keep downgradability will fix this issue. BTW you optimized rom is great for those who wanna have a personalized system running. Thanks again and keep it coming.

Ugh had it turned off, go for it now heh.
I really liked the rom, although what i did experience was a some random lagging occurring.. after switching on the screen the device seemed to hang completely then just as i was about to pull the battery it began working again. i hadnt installed any apps and i had followed all steps exactly.
I had to reflash an alternative rom in the end because of the freezing...
I am looking forward to trying new builds - cant think of any features needed really, it would just be nice to know if others had similar issue to me and if there was a fix for it.

This helps to improve battery life:
1º I always use it for WhatsApp 2G networks, mail, etc. spare me (and I polish the data rate in 2 days) which I do not care.
- Settings - Wireless - Mobile networks - (activated) Use only 2G networks.
2º Always sync manually Market, E-mail or contact (WhatsApp, messenger, etc does not care, are always active).
- Sync settings and accounts - (Off) Reference Data.
3° Off (default is active) GPS in the taskbar. (Where is the Bluetooth and Wifi.) Will make sure that security settings and location is only active Use wireless networks.
4º Inactive animations and screen brightness of the automatic.
5º I have the normal speed processor and 122Mhz minimum.
6º I use the Calibrator's Battery Market (following instructions) and the battery to 100%.
7° With these steps, I increase the battery life.
----- Installation with DarkTremor. -----We started the ClockworkMod, we Wipe data / factory reset, Wipe cache, then we enter an advanced Dalvik Wipe Cache and the battery is 100% Battery Status do a Wipe if we do not proceed to make ext3 partition. Advanced, partition SD Card, 512 or 1GB and select Swap 64MB (Remember that after partition the SD to copy the rom on the FAT), after doing all that, select the rom to install and expect to complete the process. Once finished the installation process, restart the phone and wait for it to boot the system.

Hi elitemovil,
thanks for providing another ROM. I highly appreciate your work here.
I'm just gonna test this new ROM and it feels smooth and fast.
2 things I recognized within my first steps:
Older Titanium Backup versions seem to have a problem to restore old backuped apps. An actual one works.
And I tried to use MyPhoneExplorer and for the USB Connection it needs the USB Debug Mode. I checked if I had a checkmark in the options-application-development and it was but I don't have an icon in the status bar for the debug mode and the synchronization via MyPhoneExplorer does not work: no USB connection. The normal activation of USB worked, I see a new disk in my explorer on the PC. Only the debug mode seems to fail.
Any hints?

Hello.
New optimized kernel 03_11_11 in first post.
Thanks.!
Super !
Hi elitemovil,
thanks for providing the new kernel.
I'm testing it for 24 hours now and I'm quite happy with it.
No Wifi issues anymore, really quick GPS fix (I was impressed), battery seems to last as long as e.g. Moldovan R5 does. It's stable, smooth (but I moved to ADW Ex because I personally don't like this vertical scrolling of the App Drawer in Launcher Pro). And the USB connection now works including Debugging mode. As a result MyPhoneExplorer is working now - super! I tried it with your configuration change you mentioned in your response to my question and this did not work for me. But the new kernel works like a charm.
So at the moment I'm quite happy with it.
I feel a bit sorry that you don't get this big feedback here because IMO Elite Blade_ROM s1.1 plays now in the same league as Moldovan and GSF (in the past).
One comment:
if you want to increase the positive reactions for your ROM I appreciate if you will build a release that includes the new kernel and (if still needed, I at least used it) the Wifi Fix. Otherwise as a hint for other users: store all 3 files on the SD card before doing the ROM flash. Otherwise you could get into trouble upload the fix and the new kernel to your phone because the USB connection does not work (at least for me it did not).
So I did it like this:
1. Copy ROM, Wifi fix and new kernel to your SD card
2. In Clockworkmode do a full wipe
3. Flash the ROM file
4. Flash fix and new kernel
5. Enjoy...
As a conclusion:
great work - great ROM, elitemovil. Thanks for sharing your work with us.

<ROM> Samsung Gravity Smart T589 <10/26/11>

Sorry for posting here - there is no forum for this device.
This is for the Samsung Gravity Smart T589.
This is a stock 2.2.2 froyo rom that is deodexed and themed.
This was built from a system dump - the firmware hasn't been released yet.
Please note that I am not a developer - just a tinkerer.
This will be installed by flashing through the stock recovery.
There are no custom recoveries available yet for this device.
This has the majority of the bloatware removed.
It will utilize the stock kernel already in the phone.
The ROM download link is provided after the screenshots.
A RAR file download link is provided with the apps that were removed.
Details:
Removed Drivesmart from Settings.
Removed Social Network Key from Settings - hotkey defaults to Facebook
Removed Messaging Key from Settings - hotkey defaults to Message App
Removed Notification Slider from Settings
Removed Software Update from Settings - wont OTA a custom rom
Removed many ringtones and added a few.
Removed Startup sounds and Shutdown sounds.
Removed Startup and Shutdown animations.
Removed the following apps:
Aim - Bejewled - Allshare - DriveSmart - Dual Clock - Cloud Text - Gallery3d - Glympse - Lookout -
MallLite - Maps - Memo - My Account - My Files - Photobucket - Protips - Sticky Message Widget -
Street - Swipe Tips - Talk - Tetris - TeleNav - Uno - Youtube
Added the following apps:
File Expert (has root explorer) - Flash Player - Latest Gmail - Htc Keyboard - Latest Link2sd -
QuickPic (gallery app) - Latest SuperUser + Latest Binaries - Busybox - Latest Terminal Emulator -
Latest Titanium Backup (free version) - Latest Spare Parts Plus
Added 3 build.prop edits.
One for maximum events per second and the other two for sounds.
The default ringtone is from the movie "Crank" - the fading in and out phone tone.
The default notification sound is "Tinkerbell" - lol.
Added a custom boot animation - blue coin.
Added Sd Card speed tweak + battery tweak.
Themed several icons through the IC Menu.
Themed the framework to a black "Sense" theme.
Themed the battery icons.
This device has very little internal space, so I have included Link2Sd app.
[*]If you wish to utilize this included app, you must do the following prior to installing the rom:
Partition the sd card as follows:
** NOTE - PARTITIONING THE SDCARD WILL ERASE THE CONTENTS **
- first partition will be created as a <FAT32> <Primary> partition.
- (leave about 512mb for the 2nd partition)
- second partition will be created as a <Ext2> <Primary> partition.
- this should be 512mb with 0 swap
Installation instructions:
- partition sd card (this will erase the contents)
- download rom (which is an update.zip for the stock recovery)
- put rom on the sd card
- power off phone
- slide open the keyboard and hold down the <T/5> button and the <Power> button until the recovery appears
- use the <Volume Keys> to scroll to <wipe data/factory reset> and hit the <Power> button to confirm
- use the <Volume Keys> to scroll to <wipe cache partition> and hit the <Power> button to confirm
- use the <Volume Keys> to scroll to <apply update.zip> and hit the <Power> button to confirm
- rom will install and reboot phone automatically
- first boot will take a minute
- open Link2Sd app - inform the app the 2nd partition is a <Ext2> partition and reboot phone
- open Link2Sd app after reboot - hit the <Menu> key then click on <Settings> tab
- check the <Auto Link> box and click on <Install Location> and click <Internal>
- most apps downloaded from market will default to the sd card
- you will have to open Link2Sd app after installing apps and move the app back to the phone
- then you will have to click each installed app in Link2Sd interface and click on <Create Link> and link all thats permitted
- this will solve the majority of the limited space issue with this phone
NOTES:
This phone seems to operate best when the CPU frequencies are set to 320 min and 800 max.
We can't overclock the phone until a kernel is developed. Samsung hasn't release the kernel or firmware yet.
Download No Frills Cpu from the market and set the frequencies to those specs.
The phone is defaulted to 245 min and whatever it needs up to 800.
At 245 minimum, it uses more battery power to "wake" and if it wakes frequently at this setting,
it really adversely effects battery performance.

yes flashplayer works - i tested with a movie in mp4 format
ive got a few tweaks i want to make to this rom. please contact me.
Hi
I'm kinda new to flashing roms so I was wondering if this rom would work on the canadian sgh t589 (samsung galaxy q)?
Thanks alot
the cdn version indeed is the galaxy q.. just like ours is the same line of phones..
so yes i cant see why flashing wouldn't work..
the only thing that comes to mind would be changing the apn settings.. im not sure
but i dont think you will get a data signal since me and arhtard are running on with
tmobile with a sim...if you have tmobile great if not and running a diff provider and hopefully not cdma... so thats probably the only issue i can for see.. as i flashed this rom with
zero error.
Just flashed this tonight on my friend's phone. Success! The stock recovery will show errors on nuking cache and data I believe, but they do get nuked. The spinning coin animation is nice! Where is it from? Am I safe to assume I can nuke other apps without issue via su?
Oh...and when is the next release and how can I help? I have a knack for programming/scripting.

Updated OpenFIMG
CM9 RC1
12-06-2012
ROM branded as Kyorarom in modversion
New update.zip naming convention
Updated CM repo
Loads of tweaks all over the place from CM team
This fix didn't happen on the G3, only big phones - Boot animation now has Cid in it, rather than Andy (if you don't understand, you'll know what I mean when you see it) (I will be giving it my own boot animation at some point. I need to make my animation though. It's in my head, I just need to get the time to create it.)
Took MIUI out again seeing CM9 finally fixed the media player
Added 'hold Menu to search' function.
05-06-2012
Lock screen options easier to locate
Lock screen weather
New music player that ****ing works. (called Apollo - coincidence?)
Screen off CRT animation works
28-05-2012
Updated CM repo
Changed default background
21-05-2012
Data2SD
Hybrid Data2SD v2
Added MIUI Music (a lot of features aren't working right in it though, I will look at that when I care enough).
Updated to latest CM repo (nothing too interesting to see there)
init.d is now working
Kyoratweaks are working
08-05-2011
2-stage kernel boot
CWM 5.5 (non touch)
Force boot mode functionality (hold HOME to force normal boot, and hold MENU to force recovery boot - could be useful for people with broken volume buttons)
Faster boot
Removed G3MOD boot logo
Boot logs have moved to /tmp/ (stage1.txt for stage1 log, fsdetect.txt for FS Detection module, fs.current for showing current filesystem structure)
Updated CM to latest repo
Theme Chooser (see Settings -> Interface/Themes)
Lock screen shortcuts (see Settings -> Interface/Settings -> Lock screen)
DSP Manager has better support for WM8994
04-05-2012
Kyoraapp
Kyoratweaks (not working just yet, but the script is all there)
Kyoralock (not automatic yet)
Fixed assert issue in update.zip
Added SamsungServiceMode application. Use *#*#0011#*#* and *#*#4636#*#*. There's probably more but those are the ones I know.
bmlunlock built from source (smaller)
Using kernels busybox when updating rather than using a packaged one (saves space in update.zip)
Fixed adb install/pm command
Added File Manager
03-05-2012
Update.zip format (which will be the format for all future releases. If you cannot flash update.zips, then flash G3MOD kernel first).
G3MOD Inline Kernel Building (latest G3MOD on every release)
Fixed reboot menu (now says Download instead of Bootloader, and it reboots to download mode)
Fixed Superuser
Fixed Camera
Fixed Phone.apk
Fixed sensors

In case people are wondering where the ODIN.tars and system.imgs are, I am not going to release Serenity in those formats as they are not standards compliant, and make the file much bulkier than an update.zip. As well as that, they require more effort to produce. I am only releasing one ODIN version (the foolproof version) for in case people experience issues flashing the update.zip, and these issues should only exist first time.
Extra Downloads
Google Apps Mini <- small Google Apps package that gives you the basics to get running.
ODIN Version (foolproof method) <- For if installing the update.zip doesn't work right for you. This will make sure everything is set up how it should be. This release is outdated now so I suggest downloading this and the latest update.zip and updating after flashing the ODIN version. Includes G3MOD 2.5 OC version.
Non-OC Kernel (G3MOD 2.5)
LatinIME.apk <- full keyboard from SGS2 with all the dictionaries and such if they aren't working for you. This can be installed like any normal APK.
Guides
Installing update.zips
You will need to flash a kernel that includes CWM, or install CWM on a stock ROM. There are guides on how to do this. I recommend installing G3MOD to get CWM.
Copy update.zip to SD Card
Reboot phone into CWM (turn off the phone and turn it back on while holding both volume keys and the home key)
Go to "install zip from sdcard"
Choose to install the update.zip
Reboot phone
Enjoy Kyorarom
Adding Kyorarom support to your kernel
Add all the CM7/9 support functionality (basic stuff like USB and audio)
Make a copy of the defconfig (either .config or apollo_rev_02_defconfig) called cyanogenmod_apollo_defconfig
Edit the config to locate your initramfs (this will depend on where you keep your initramfs). If you use old G3 style (G3MOD, Fugumod) of storing the kernel with initramfs in a directory below the kernel you will want source/../initramfs, whereas if you use Kyorakernel style (initramfs inside kernel directory), you want source/initramfs. If you want 2-stage style, you will want source/usr/initramfs.list. Refer to my kernel to see how I did it as 2-stage is quite tricky and different to what we used to use.
Compile the kernel with the config (make -j2 cyanogenmod_apollo_defconfig) to test it works
Modify scripts/kconfig/Makefile as shown in this commit: https://github.com/dharamg3/G3MOD/commit/c8adf776285365d7fece528e20914d778e2a8d1a#diff-2
Clean the kernel repository (make clean) and (make mrproper)

Good luck with this version.
Good Luck With This mate......!!!
Looking Forward to it....
Looking forward to Eternity. But all the best of this one too.
Interesting.
I think we can expect good rom because you are the one in cm9 devs.
All the best
Test 003 uploaded to Mediafire
Linky Brinky
I made an ODIN TAR this time not to annoy Linux/Mac users, rather to try to fix the issues people were having of boot looping in 002. If it still doesn't work then wipe your data. If it still doesn't work then take the SD card out. If it still doesn't work then your phone is broken.
Changelog
* ODIN TAR now
* Updated CM9 repo (more translations, and a few fixes that probably won't apply to the G3).
* Compiled with a few tweaks here and there.
great !!! tryin now
EDIT: what do you mean by sensors? all the sensors already work right?
nice work, Mark!
Tried Test build 003. First was stuck at the bootanimation. Factory resetted from the cwm and booted in.
The build seem to be more smoother than the other build.(I maybe wrong cause i havent tested the other ics build for quite a time). Other than that its nothing more special.
@hillbeast waiting for the kyoralock and other tweaks. Also can you try to port the same - kyoralock, kyoraap, and kyoratweaks into CM7. That would really boost the performance.
Thanks!
EDIT
BTW Does hybird data2sd work on ics??
EDIT2
There is a problem in calls. FC's when you call someone.
Good job ! For the next build, can you :
Include the newest GApps ? When I flash, Gplay is missing
Add an File Explorer ?
after flashing gapps, still the setup wizard not shown, not able to sign in to google. also browser fcs and no keyboard
Edit 1: No way to get to the market, no way to get to the SD Card, no way to browse the net or download any app via browser, no way to sign in to google, No setup wizard after flashing Gapps, infact no google app after flashing gapps Wierd problems...
By the way, ROM is blazing fast...
How happy am i to see this thread?
VERY HAPPY!!
Hum, yeah, I too can't seem to install Google Apps... It takes a very long time to start installing from the update.zip, but once I restart the phone, there's no Play or Talk... I can add my account, even though it doesn't work with calendar, etc.

Don't try to install gapps, it will fail as the core ICS system itself take 90-95% of disk space. So gapps will not be completely installed when u try installing it. Only if we remove some core apps/files then only we can able to install it.
If you are interested then try my rom MPICS which has integrated gapps.

*Disclaimer*
For more information please refer to GPe RUU and ROM thread. ROM is compatible with all M8 variants except Dual SIMThis is not a general discussion thread, please keep off topic chatter to a minimum.
This is a stock ROM with very little modifications.
Modifications made to this ROM are for Verizon network connectivity. framework-res.apk for apns.xml and eri.xml, build.prop
Added CDMA device support to stock boot.img
If there are issues with the ROM that don't pertain to those changes, those comments and bug reports should be directed at Google and HTC not here.
Special notes:
[*]Built with the AROMA Installer. Options include... Stock, Traditional Root and System-less Root.
[*] Its recommended to be on the latest Verizon firmware 6.21.605.3
[*] If you were using any partition as f2fs, you must switch back to ext4 first.
[*] When prompted to insert SIM during setup, just hit skip and continue on with the setup.
[*] Unknown phone number may show in settings under Sim Status. You can still make and receive calls, your number automatically populates after first reboot.
[*] If you have issues with 3g/LTE data hand off, do a full RUU and do a factory reset with the stock recovery. Alternatively just flash the stock recovery and do a factory reset. Theory is the stock recovery rebuilds NV data. Getting a new SIM card has also been reported to work. Calling customer service and asking them to reset your connection has also been reported to help.
Install: using TWRP is recommended
1. Reboot to recovery
2. Wipe/Factory reset if coming from another ROM
3. Flash ROM
4. Reboot
5. Enjoy, First boot will take 5 to 10 minutes, on average I've noticed it takes about 7

FAQs & Issues
FAQs
Q. 3 dot menus have a lot of lag. Whats going on?
A. In order to add the low quality Mms fix and add other values to fix sms for some users, the framwork-res.apk must be modified.
Apktool breaks some animations, until apktool can be fixed the only workaround is to set your "Window animation scale" to "Off" in the developer settings. This will eliminate the lag.
Q. Do I have to be S-Off to use this ROM?
A. Yes, unfortunately Verizon devices aren't supported by HTC Dev unlock so you need to be S-Off in order to flash a custom recovery. If you didn't get your device S-Off with KitKat rooted and unlocked with Sunshine, I'm afraid your only hope now is finding a forum member who can unlock it with a Java Card. Sunshine now works with sense marshmallow. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2792487
Q. I can't get RRO layers to work, what am I doing wrong?
A. Nothing, RRO Layers was not included by HTC. So in short it doesn't work nor will it ever! Don't even ask!
Q. How do I enable the SystemUI Tuner in 6.0?
A. Pull down the notification shade, Long press the settings gear. It's hard to see but the gear will spin under your finger. Press and hold, this may take a long time and may take multiple attemps but you will get a toast saying the "SystemUI Tuner is active". The menu will appear in the settings under About phone.
Q. How do I enable multi window in 6.0
A. You need to edit the build.prop, look for ro.build.type=user change it to ro.build.type=userdebug save the file and reboot. If you haven't already you need to enable developer options. In About phone you have to tap the build number several times to enable. In developer options you'll find the multi window switch about 3/4ths the way the down the settings list.
Q. Does the duo camera Ufocus and 3D effects work on GPe?
A. Yes it does. Google camera supports the duo effect. HTC FX editor is a stock feature of GPe so Ufocus and 3D effects all work.
Q. I don't see Trusted face in Smart lock, am I missing something?
A. Trusted face was removed in 5.0.1, probably to make room in the /system. Trusted face for (M8) GPe Marshmallow. Ported from the Nexus 6
Q. I can't get Titanium Backup to work with my sd card, I keep getting an insufficient free storage error.
A. Take a look at this post. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64064833&postcount=3714
Q. I'm having Ext. SD card permission issues with ***** app. It can't write to my external microSD card.
A. In Lollipop and Marshmallow your app needs to be granted permissions to the root of the Ext. SD card by DocumentsProvider Storage.
1. The app may need updated. Usually the app will open the DocumentsProvider so you can select your card.
2. Make sure when you selected the Ext. SD card in DocumentsProvider that you were in the root directory.
Issues
* MRA58K.H15 Backup account fix, also includes the DND priority mode fix
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24686680535467942
* WiFi may drop out when the screen is off. This issue involves more then just firmware. 5.0.1 and 5.1 used new DHCP protocols, 6.0's protocols are updated and work better on legacy devices but you may have less or no drop out issues with newer WiFi routers.
* Do not disturb / Priority mode is broken... HTC added some code from sense that has broken your notifications from starred contacts when DND is enabled. When DND is enabled with "Priority Only" and a starred contact sends you a text or phone call the ringer should sound and vibrate depending on what your configuration is, but what happens is when the contact is validated its looking for a column "VIP" in the contacts.db, well "VIP" doesn't exist in Google contacts only in Sense contacts... so it doesn't validate and you don't get the notification. Flashable fix.
Thanks to @kbitz for the fix.
* Android 6.0 has an MMS bug that will require you to reboot your phone every couple of days or sending and receiving MMS will become proplematic. Issue tracker on the subject.

So same GPE ROM in new thread? Looking forward to some tweaks! Also, my SIM issue came back so I'll be getting a new one tomorrow. Will definitely report back.

Yep same rom new thread. I'm not gonna go crazy with AROMA and mods but I figured it was the best option for an optimal user experience.
Looking forward to it!

New sim and all is well. Just wanted to report back because a few other users experienced similar issues. Hope this helps someone else!
Just wanted to share my experience so far!
I flashed this firmware from DigitalHigh's ROM: M8_FIRMWARE_VZW_001__4.17.605.9.zip
After, I wiped completely and installed your ROM + Beyond Stock Kernel.
Pulled out the SIM and started my phone. Did the initial setup over WiFi and got my phone back up to speed.
I shut down, put the SIM back in, and turned back on. Got 3G.
Only other issues I've had so far are hangouts crashing occasionally and something happened with Google Play Services (on second boot, I got a message saying that it's not compatible with my device and to contact the manufacturer.)
Nevertheless, it's been good.
This is the same as the last Rom posted by undarated, right? Just asking because I flashed that on my primary slot in multirom and I didn't pull my SIM card and everything's fine.

Yes it's the same, he didn't have anything to do with my build so... I started my own thread. I'm in the process of building an AROMA version too with a completely stock option and a custom install with a few options.
I'm glad to hear everything is working for you! :good:
Just wanted to check in and say thanks for this - I've been using it for 3 days now and it has performed flawlessly. I really appreciate the ability to install the stock kernel - I always seem to get lag with any GPE-style ROM for this phone which tries to mod the kernel, install 57 hacks and mods, etc. I also installed xposed to do some minor tweaks. I'm pretty sure this is going to be my daily driver. Hoping for a new version once the latest stagefright patch is released.
OK, put together that AROMA build. Need some testers to make sure everything is good. Pretty sure I nailed it though.

It's striped down significantly... Since there is no mods to the ROM, you can install a stock ROM with no mods or the stock ROM with add ons like sense camera, viper audio, xposed, debloat, su, init.d, busybox, stock or beyond stock kernel, Kinda what I thought the most popular things one would want in a stock ROM.
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
I haven't had time to flash this ROM but will be very shortly.
I ported over the Lyapota MOD Pack to this ROMs files.
Thought I'd share.
Lyapota thread
The thread says the Aroma installer has 3 choices:
First item for those who have SkyDragon ROM or reflash MODPack to change options.
Second item for those who have Stock rooted ROM and flash MODPack first time.
Third item for those who have pure Stock ROM and flash MODPack first time.
You want the Second choice.
Third choice would be if you don't have busybox/SuperSU it will add these, only difference between 2 & 3, so if you don't want busybox,SuperSU choose Second choice as well
Ignore First choice as it has no reason to be in the installer (for us that is) but haven't had time to remove it yet.

(Flash in Recovery)
ROM is fully functional. No issues, no bugs, great performance.
Did advance wipe in TWRP, on latest firmware .9, chose full wipe in aroma, but got stuck on bootanimation. Any ideas as to why?
